He's Roman Wilson's brother from another mother. One of these prospects below is Scottie Miller and the other is our 3rd round pick:
5106 185lb... 4.39 40yd 1.51 10yd... 4.07 SS... 6.89 3 cone
5091 174lb... 4.36 40yd 1.51 10yd... 4.02 SS... 6.97 3-cone

He caught the long bomb right before half from Tom Brady in the NFCCG in Green Bay when everyone thought the Packers were going to waltz into the Super Bowl.
Other than that he’s done almost nothing notable. He’s small. He doesn’t scare anyone or any defense.

Could be wrong but see this as Calvin Austin's comp for #2 behind Wilson in the slot.
So, what you're saying is, we're collecting tiny slot receivers for an offense that barely puts slot receivers on the field. Four dimensional chess, indeed.

Still not reasonably replaced DJ.
Probably gearing up for desperations mode when 9 losses is in sight.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”
Believe it or not I think Arthur Smith thinks Scotty can play outside. Seem to recall him lining up that way a lot in Atlanta.
Miller is insurance in case Watkins or Jefferson flat out suck or have lost it altogether.

A lot of interesting moves this off season. This isn't one of them. I think they think the receiver room is fine, especially for an offense the Steelers are hoping will lead the NFL in rushing.
I’m leaning toward this.BouldernBun wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 3:58 amA lot of interesting moves this off season. This isn't one of them. I think they think the receiver room is fine, especially for an offense the Steelers are hoping will lead the NFL in rushing.
The number 2 receiver in Smiths offense is going to get 60 or less receptions
The number 3 under 25
The second leading receiver, in this offense, will be a TE
IMO, the entire “big signing” at WR movement, isn’t for a #2, it for a #1, because they don’t trust Pickens to be that player. He’s a complementary deep threat, and may never be a true 1.
We’ll see

It's the drops and yards lost after catch, that will truly be missed.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 1:38 pmDon't forget his dogshit effort and attitude.O'Donnell's Bookie wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 1:08 pmWell how could we ever expect to replace his 750 yds and 2.5 tds per season the past two seasons???
Scotty Miller…the next SteelerFury Ryan Switzer, Gunner Olsewski whipping boy!
Martavis just got released by the Cowboys. Fits the Smith mold. Why not bring him to camp too?

Guy worked in Smiths system in Atlanta it’s clear he’s just easing the indoctrination of the new system.

Not how I see it. We’ve replaced DJ 2 wr additions ago. This would be a 3rd replacement.
You're looking at it all wrong. Taking DJ off the field and will be replaced with quick speedsters/track stars to run go routes and never seeing any balls. To clear out the underneath stuff etc for our #1 WR and the TE’s to eat. Thats when we’re not just running the ball over and over and over. So the feeding order will be:
RB
RB
RB
Pass to #1 WR (again track stars just running go routes here)
If a new set of downs is established see the same rotation / ball placement as above and sprinkle in a pass to a TE from time to time.
DJ and that role is as good as replaced.

Hope you guys are right…I just think all of you are over-emphasizing his foibles and under-valuing his contributions to this offense…and not just in terms of numbers. He was an excellent route-runner for whom the defense needed to account, opening things for the other receivers.Thrillsseeker wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 4:58 pmNot how I see it. Again, you guys are right, hope Pickens thrives without him.
