Live view of me during Steelers games this year:

Image

Just a fair warning, but I be openly cheering for our opponents this year. The purgatory of 8-9 wins must end. I will be gleefully celebrating every failed screen, the passes behind the LOS that go nowhere, the collapsing pockets, every time Najee blindly runs into the ass of his lineman, the 2nd and 10 handoffs, Russ and/or Fields holding the ball forever with no clue before running for their lives, and every time Pickens slams his helmet or jumps up and down like an 8-year-old screaming for the ball. I will say a prayer before every kickoff longing for an embarrassing blowout, especially for any home game, and I will be deliriously drunk with pleasure as the losses hopefully mount up.

The collective groan of the Heinz Field crowd as the offense jogs off the field after another three and out will fill my heart with a child-like joy that I find almost impossible to describe to you all today. I will writhe in ecstasy scrolling through the Twitter game day reactions from the homers who actually still believe the doomed ship is worth saving -- and I will gladly take the helm while the rest scurry away and then steer us directly towards the disaster with a maniacal drive that would make Ahab look reserved.

And why? Because our current state of affairs is spoiled and rotten. The organization will not be able to legitimately contend again until the necessary shedding is completed, and that can only come with bottoming out. The recent late second half "surges" to save NHALS against teams who are torn apart with injuries or not playing for any consequence has only temporarily covered up the stink of our disease, but the disease has continued to spread. Amputation is now needed. Who among you are brave enough to wield the blade and strike the needed blow?

No half-measures, no blue pill... take the red pill and not only see how far down the rabbit hole goes but you can also see what's on the other side. Have some courage and don't just be some blindly loyal dolt who only lives for the short-term, empty joy of a meaningless Victory Monday when a bottoming out with a 4-13 season is the only way to bring about actual impactful, significant needed changes. Join me in the revolution today, and set your hearts and minds free. Yolo.

So I assume you don't want to give away a 2nd and 3rd for Aiyuk?

Not sure a 4-13 season does in Cool Shades. Afraid it will take more than one shitty season to do that, and even then. The Deuce is in love with Tomlin and even more, the entire three HC's since 1969 crap like that's a freaking Lombardi unto itself. Tomlin, like Cowher, is HC for Life.

I'm right there with you. To the dark side, I have gone.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Maybe not, but boy would it be a spicy offseason. Maybe he'd want out at that point?

I'd gladly trade him to another team for a first rounder.

I was trying to be entertaining with the post, but I'm seriously perfectly fine with us having a season like New England had last year. Short term pain for long term gain.

I got there last year. Granted, I'm probably ahead of the curve as I was calling for Tomlin to be fired 6 years ago.

I don't think I'm going to be able to suffer through every game if they are as unwatchable as last year. I don't know how people still support Tomlin. He's not only destroying this team he's making fans HATE the team.

Sorry to say it but I’d be fine with a 1-16 season.

Do I want the Steelers to be successful? Yes. Do I think they will competitive as long as Tomlin is the HC? No. We’re in purgatory until he retires. I’ve learned to embrace the suck. I don’t even get mad anymore. It’s more laughable for me now watching this train wreck. It’s better for my stress level to just laugh at the shit show.

Yep. And watching them steal a couple of ugly wins to rescue NHALS from the abyss is somehow even more frustrating then getting the doors blown off in the playoffs.

Wretched team led by a charlatan.

You mean you weren't all in after those huge wins against Jake Browning, Tyler Huntley, and that Seahawks team playing for nothing?

It only delayed the needed bottoming out another year, unfortunately. Praying this is the year it happens.

I was on the season ticket waiting list from 1995 until 2007. One of my business partners and I bought 2 PSLs in 2007. I have had season tickets from that point until last year. Last year broke me. I just couldn’t do it anymore.

In all honesty, I started to crack in 2017 after that loss to the Jags. The 2018 and 2019 seasons did nothing but fan the flames of my discontentment.

2020 was nice until it wasn’t…predictably again losing in the playoffs ( losing to the Browns really just kinda pushed me to the brink) . I held on for Ben’s last year.

In 2022 it was just more of the same, this time without Ben and I just couldn’t take it. I spent more time in the woods on the weekend. It was nice. It was relaxing. I didn’t get worked up or stressed out. With that, I sold my PSL to my business partner halfway into 2023. It’s not something I wanted to be invested in anymore.

I still watch some of the games and pop in for game threads every so often but my level of interest has never been lower.

Good point. I'm sure he's too arrogant to even consider the idea of having a disaster of a season, which would make 4-13 that much sweeter. If shit really hits the fan, he may be just hang it up.

Gotta say, the Steelers QB jersey take on the historic Browns jersey is a bad take. You can't put multiple duplicate names on there because someone was hurt. That's LAME

I think 5-12 is very realistic this season, offensive line will struggle to gel early in the year, QB play is going to be bad, and the schedule gets brutal down the stretch this year, and luck of playing against back up QB's in half the games won't happen again this year. They are in desparate need of a top 5 pick to be able to draft a franchise QB, if last years draft and the upcoming draft pan out, they could be back in contention real soon, hopefully Tomlin will decide to move on as well.

I’m waffling a bit but starting to get concerned about winning much this year. The schedule is BRUTAL, teams that used to suck don’t suck anymore.

I still don’t understand how we made the playoffs last season. Actually the week 17 game in Seattle (the highlight for me) did it and the Seahawks absolutely had something to play for since that loss booted them from the #7th seed.

Back from your hibernation to stuck up for Tomlin already?
