B2B 2025 Draft QB Stock Exchange
I'm sure I'm going to forget some names, but after Week 1 my preseason watch list looked something like this:
Ranking (last week)
1 (1) Cam Ward, Miami... Get ready for a bunch of people to "discover" him or claim he's come out of nowhere. This is the same guy for the last 4yrs
2 (5) Shadeur Sanders, Colorado... best game I've seen him play & I've seen most of them. Faced down the rush, made brilliant plays from the pocket
3 (2) Taylen Green, Arkansas... toolsy as hell. Had one of the best QB runs of the year in week 1, but he can sling it. Best is yet to come.
4 (4) Noah Fifita, Arizona... 1/2 inch shorter than the Steelers current starter... but he's really good, regardless of size limiations
5 (6) Carson Beck, Georgia... slow first half but have to understand that his team is so, so loaded... best to be conservative and take the W
6 (3) TJ Finley, Western Kentucky... absolutely terrible game but also his whole team got steamrolled, not just him
7 (7) Quin Ewers, Texas... no idea why he returned to be inevitably replaced by Arch but he's got some talent
8 (8) Will Howard, Ohio State... handed the keys to the Ferarri but it might need some tuneups before it sings
9 (9) Greyson McCall, NC State... Arm strength appears to be back to pre-surgery. Older prospect now but if he can regain his accuracy, Bo Nix-like
12 Cam Miller, NDSU... fantastic showing with an outgunned team. Has progressed since last year.
13 Haynes King, Georgia Tech... will it translate to the NFL? We'll see. Great start to the year.
14 Matthew Sluka, UNLV... Never going to be a stat guy in that offense, but man is he a gamer with talent
10 Drew Allar, Penn State... gonna be hard to tell his talent while he's under James Franklin. Could blossom in the NFL with a real coach
11 Owen McCown, UTSA... great looking debut for the next McCown. Unlikely to declare but surrounded by an embarrassment of receiving talent
11(10) Grayson James, Boston College... injured before week 1 but should start once he's healthy.
15 Kaidon Salter, Liberty... if he plays like the bowl game, he'll be lower than this. If he grows from that... high ceiling
16 Jalen Milroe, Alabama... can move the ball with his feet but has to show he's better than Justin Fields in the pocket
17 Miller Moss, USC... This year's Jake Haener. Super tough, great accuracy, all-heart team.
18 Garrett Nussmeier, LSU... Not sure if there's a big upside but high floor because of his accuracy
19 Mark Gronowski, SDSU... I have a feeling he'll look a lot better come November and December. Lots of turnover for last year's champs
20 Cam Rising, Utah... High ceiling if he can be healthy and shake off the rust
21 Donovan Smith, Houston... extremely disappointing start to the season for a guy with a lot of buzz
22 Brady Cook, Missouri
23 Cade Klubnik, Clemson
24 Jalon Daniels, Kansas... gamer but oft injured and
25 Conner Weigman, TAMU
Others:
Tyler Shough... really good QB, but this is year 7 for him. Going to come in with good QB IQ and maybe a promising career as a backup
Tommy Melott, Montana State... Nice comeback win. Clutch gonna clutch, even if vs a middling opponent
Riley Leonard, Notre Dame
Zach Zebrowski, Central Missouri... best QB in D2 didn't transfer up as speculated.
Seth Henigan, Memphis
Behren Morton, Texas Tech
Will Rogers, Washington
Jeff Sims, Arizona State
Max Johnson, UNC
Zach Calzada, Incarnate Word

TJ Finley got steamrolled and looked undraftable vs Bama in a game yourself B2B said you “wish you had the balls to bet the money line”
In the same game, Jalen Milroe looked Lamar-like NOT Fields like in his brief contribution to a 63-0 asswhipping.
If this is a true stock report, Milroe’s stock will fluctuate throughout the season because he’s still raw but wildly talented.
I still believe Deboer will have a stabilizing Penix like impact on this 5 star stud.
Too low on Carson Beck.
You want a good laugh, Twitter “Mike Bobo” during the 1st quarter of any game since his return to Athens.
Criminally conservative
“Easing in”
Kirby does NOT want to light up the scoreboard
Doesn’t have to
But it doesn’t allow Beck to pad his stats and work on his deep ball accuracy
Anyway, Beck vs Clemson was literally perfect in the 2nd half
Underrated escapability combined with quick processing and an even quicker release.
Check his past box scores
Always spreads the ball around
Completed passes to 9 different players this week vs Clemson
Compare that to the Fifita kid from my upstart Arizona Wildcats who simply force fed Tet McMillan for 3 bills vs an outmanned New Mexico squad where he didn’t need to do anything else.
In a true stock report, the quality of opponent should matter
Force feeding wouldn’t work against the Clemson defense Beck and Bobo eventually dissected let alone an NFL defense
Had Finley not flopped against an SEC defense his stock rightfully would be up
Since he tanked (miserably)
His stock should be WAY down
Yep
Ranking TJ Finley over any quarterback let alone Jalen Milroe who DRAMATICALLY outperformed him in the same game doesn’t make it a true weekly stock report as much as it just reflects your biase towards your guys.

To clarify: where I had them based on their entire career to this point affected how much they moved based on last week. Think of it like the CFB initial rankings and then what they looked like after week 0. FSU only dropped from top 3 to 10, right? Of course, more bad performances from Finely or great performances from Milroe will shake things up accordingly. But I'm also not going to erase what they've done in previous years, otherwise Kenny Pickett will be ranked higher than Brock Purdy as prospects. I will say, that I went back and watched some more of 2023 Finley after the season ended and i probably had him too high going into this year. If he can't make it happen in that system at WKU, then you're right that he will be undrafted.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 11:19 pmTJ Finley got steamrolled and looked undraftable vs Bama in a game yourself B2B said you “wish you had the balls to bet the money line”

I appreciate a lot of good from Beck, but I think he may be a great college QB and not necessarily a better NFL prospect than the guys ahead of him. I'm looking at his ability to make throws to covered receivers, to make secondary throws, to make tight window throws with velocity. I think he can end up being a great prospect but I'm not all the way sold yet, despite your homer bias
The thing I can't shake: Beck reminds me a tiny tiny bit of Josh Rosen, in that he gets by on processing but doesn't necessarily have the tools to make that work when things get tighter and more pressured at the NFL level. Not saying he's locked into the career arc of Rosen, but there's something I can't quite shake.

The downside of Beck is he has an NFL average arm which is what you can deal with a backup. Unless he is not showing the zip. he can make the throws.

Top 2 are correct.
Beck should be 3. Milroe is top 5...Much better than you have him ranked.
Grayson McCall is eligible for AARP and disability next season....no thanks.

I'm not sure what special ability Milroe will have that will be his key to success in the NFL. It works in the college game and he might even win a natty. But this is not a ranking of who the best college QB is. This is a ranking of their NFL prospects long-term.
I agree with the assessment that Beck's arm is not high-level NFL caliber. Agin, it works for cfb, especially running a stacked team... but on Sundays that's probably not going to work.
I'm certainly going to see a lot more Milroe... maybe I will learn what makes him top 5 but I haven't yet.

Only thing that worries me on Ward is his turnovers. He does them at a pretty high rate.

Brock Vandagriff, Kentucky, plays very similar to another player some people here liked, including myself, Will Levis. On 3rd down, he will drop his shoulder and try to get more yards on scrambles if necessary.

SF Stock Exchange Report Week 2 (Spoiler alert it's a stock up kinda day)
*Horns and stock WAY UP. Quinn Ewers played VERY well against the defending national chumps... against a defense loaded with NFL talent.... a defense coordinated by Wink Martindale, a long time NFL DC...in front of 111,000 YELLOW scUM fans (maize is corn everyone).
*Arkansas and B2B's guy Taylen Green had Okie St on the ropes before falling in double OT. Kid's a fun watch. Does he have the clutch gene?
*Ahhh the Fighting Franklins lol. I'm still a fan of Drew Allar's talent, but I almost feel sorry for Happy Valley fans (not really) having to endure the Mike Tomlin of college football.
*My guy Haynes King and former Buckeye Kyle McCord both filled the stat sheet in a fun game in upstate NY.
*Now here's the part where quality of opponent matters. Carson Beck was literally perfect right out of the gate, completing his first 11 passes spreading the ball around to 7 different receivers before the 1st qtr even came to a close enroute to 5 TDs (to 5 different players) before hitting the showers. Not a bad half days work.
*Nap Time. Gotta rest up my thumb for some serious channel flipping this evening between Nico, Milroe, Shedeur, and the mini Pat Mahomes.

Allar has made progress. He's scanning the field a bit better and throwing people open. However, he still has head scratchers too often like that terrible INT into double coverage and then getting too much air under a bomb that should have been a TD.
He could get away with some of those things if he was mobile, but he isn't. Agree though that James Franklin holds him back.

Mentioning Allar and McCord and not Howard, who looked better from the start of the game, hit some big throws and continued to show off serious plus athletic ability.
Are we downgrading him because of his surrounding skill talent? Because for some reason we're still discussing Milroe and Beck.

They’re not showing your Buckeyes vs a directional school down here so nothing to base Howard's performance on other than the padded stat sheet.
Hell they didn’t even show the hometown Dawgs vs Tenn tech

Icing down my thumb from overuse of the remote last night (I do so hate the Youtube TV 4 game window)
Nebraska is a TEAM
The Buffs are two stars and a mish mash of players from the transfer portal
Shadeur looked to be concussed and wasn't playing well before that.
No running game and no OL made for a long night vs a scrappy Black Shirt defense that came to play.
Stock down for my guy Jalen Milroe.
Penalty-fest coupled with some more porous OL play made for a sloppy, mistake filled game at the newly crowned Saban Field at Bryant Denny Stadium.
Nico = Best player in college football. Top pick in the 2026 draft.
Anyway,
Vols= Stock Up
Texas- Stock Up
scUM= Stock WAY down (YAY!)
Notre Dame= Stock Plummeting
Oregon= Stock down
Georgia= Stock Even
Ohio State= Stock Even
Colorado= SELL, SELL, SELL!

I could at least see Taylen Green scanning the field but I sure did not see any WOW throws from him.
I did not get to see Grayson McCall vs Tenn but it looked like a rough outing. from the stats

Hey, on a weekend where ND went down to a directional school and PSU almost did, digestion of cupcakes wasn't easy for everyone.
The approach to "team building" in Colorado is seriously, seriously flawed. Don't see how Sanders continues mucj after his kids' graduation unless he changes tactics.

The portal is great for patching holes and maybe uncovering a talent that was misused elsewhere, but it's looking like you can't build a team from scratch that way.Ice wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 2:48 pmHey, on a weekend where ND went down to a directional school and PSU almost did, digestion of cupcakes wasn't easy for everyone.

Also, these rankings services really need to re-evaluate how they grade transfers. Like, how does Quency Wiggins, a guy who couldn't get any playing time for LSU's garbage defense last season, get a 4 star grade?
Ditto Tyler Johnson - A guy that couldn't see the field at Texas then did nothing of note at Houston. Somehow he's a 4 star as well.
I had thought those star rankings for transfers were just their recycled HS ratings. I guess I was wrong? Just what college football needs... more ratings on a star system.

He throws a nice deep post/in-breaking ball... but this was, in most ways, a typical game from him: long runs, long pass plays, pick 6 (not really his fault on this occasion). He's a highlight machine.
Where he must grow is learning how to close out games and in his consistency on smaller plays. OSU gift-wrapped him a go-ahead TD late and he short-armed the throw. Granted, he was throwing to a RB who had earlier misplayed a routine catch, so perhaps Green was trying to make it an easy catch... but that was the ballgame.
Tough opponent and he played really well in the first half; just couldn't find a play or two once OSU awakened.
I haven't seen Carson Beck's game yet but Grayson McCall got rolled.
STOCK HIGH
Cam Ward (even if you don't love him as an NFL prospect for whatever reason, he's easily the most entertaining CFB QB at the moment. Does multiple outrageously beautiful things per game. Hell, per drive.
Carson Beck. Don't know if we learned a lot vs that disparity in level of opponent but he was good.
STOCK PRETTY HIGH
Will Howard
Taylen Green
Noah Fifita... not the huge week that others had
Jaxson Dart
LSU QB
Cam Miller
STOCK MID THIS WEEK
Jalen Milroe
Drew Allar
Ga Tech QB
STOCK DOWN A LITTLE
Shadeur Sanders
Mark Gronowski
STOCK OKAY BUT MAINLY BACKUP MATERIAL:
Kaidon Slater
Tyler Shough
STOCK DOWN A LOT
Greyson McCall
Vandergrift
INCOMPLETE (Injured)
Grayson James. Starting to wonder if this is a very long term injury, as he isn't even listed on BC's injury list at the moment. It's a shame because he can sling it a little bit.

Another guy deserving a slight bit of love is Kurtis Rourke. He was a nice player at Ohio U and has been good so far at Indiana.

He'll have a distinguished career in the CFL.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 3:29 pmAnother guy deserving a slight bit of love is Kurtis Rourke. Mostly kidding but I see decent college QB but not really an NFL type.
McCord definitely belongs on the list. Somewhere.

I can’t unsee Allan’s performances against top competition like Michigan and Ohio State. He completely melted down and some of the worst accuracy I’ve ever seen. That said, I’ve had my hopes pinned on him for a National Title run since he committed to PSU. He’s got the size and arm for sure and moves well enough for a pocket passer. This season is huge for him and his nfl prospects.franco32 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 3:29 amAllar has made progress. He's scanning the field a bit better and throwing people open. I’m higher on Ewers and Beck that the original post rankings as well. I do not touch Sanders under any circumstance.

I was very high on Ewers before last year, where he had some very bad games. I think he can play, just waiting to see how the rest of his time shakes out.Steelperch wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 1:20 amI can’t unsee Allan’s performances against top competition like Michigan and Ohio State. Really going to be interested to see how Sark handles getting the Arch Manning train back into the station at this point. For a possible high draft pick, Ewers is in some jeopardy of getting Wally Pipped.

Yeah, that's the thing, Drama... I can't bear to see some talent like Ward come to Pittsburgh where Mike Tomlin can erase him from NFL history.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 11:51 pmArch was hauling ass on that 67 yd TD run

Props on the Sopranos deep cut, Drama.
Manning might be one of those Ben-esque talents that can transcend dullard offensive coaching and scheme to make some plays in spite of it, which is honestly exactly what we need until Tomlin retires.

Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
So will Ewers regret not entering the draft if he can't get back on the field?

Stock down on the midget from Arizona. Stock down on the always injured Grayson McCall.
Stock to the moon...Arch Manning. Texas is the best team in the nation at this point.
Cam Ward continues to impress, easily the #1 QB in the 2025 draft in my opinion.
"Whose welfare check you gotta cash to get a burger around here?" Was not a fan of the Massive Genius storyline.
