They will succeed against teams with bad QBs and or who are willing to play the same slow game
They will get stomped by quality offenses and layoff caliber teams
They will be 9-8
The franchise will be happy
Tbsteel will not
Fields will be your QB
If it is unwatchable don’t watch. The incessant negativity and rooting against the team your supposedly a fan of boggles my mind.
Do I want the team to win by 30 every week? Sure. But I don’t whine cry and doom and gloom when they don’t win they way I want them to. A win is a win.

He played OK, nothing special. At least he didn't lose a fumble of throw an INT. But yeah, I'd rather have the bargain basement options the Steelers snagged this year than dramatically overpay for Kirk Cousins like the idiot Falcons.K_C_ wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 8:17 pmFields is in a new system and played pretty damn well.W&M_Steeler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 8:16 pmThis is going to be the exciting QB competition since Mason vs. Duck.
They will open it up for him more when he gets comfortable.
He didn't turn it over once.
How 'bout we look at his salary vs Kirk Cousins?
What does that prove exactly?

That's a little strong. JF looks somewhat better than KP8, but that's not saying much.

This is B2B's site, so I think it's a stretch to question his fandom. I agree with B2B- I find it hard to get excited about these type of wins these days, know that all they do is prop up a dead-end philosophy. It's been hard to watch the Steelers slowly turn into the Pirates.daikyu wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 8:20 pmIf it is unwatchable don’t watch. Some people love their bag of chips and those empty calories.
Keep on munching dude. We'll be fine.
This will most likely be another 8-9 win year that ultimately leads to nothing of consequence.
But some people want more and have the courage to make sacrifices as fans and not just mindlessly munch away at these empty calorie wins. The courage to stand up and fight for a better tomorrow.
Me and B2B are legitimate Steelers fans heroes.

You're probably in your 20's so I get it.
You think rooting for a loss means the Steelers are guaranteed to be better for it in the future.
When you mature and start actually understanding the game, you'll know that losing out doesn't guarantee you shit.
Ask Carolina.
It's about who you draft. Not when. The Packers have their third franchise QB in the last 30 years. I think they have 2 Super Bowls wins over that time and where were both Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers drafted?
Both top 5 picks, right?
How about Brett Favre? #1 overall I assume or nah?

Some folks honestly believe rooting for wins means that you're guaranteed to find the next Tom Brady in the upcoming draft.
6th rounder Tom Brady.

On the other hand, if you keep doing the same things, you'll keep getting the same things.
Sure, it might get worse.
But given the past few years, what real difference would that make?
I can't root for losses, myself. I do not find it fun or pleasant. But I get doing it.

Hey, I'm with you guys. I want Tomlin gone as much as the next guy. I would love for this team to get Cam Ward, but not with Tomlin at the helm. Unfortunately, they will not be going 4-13 with our D and QB play in this league. I agree 9-8, 7th seed and another beating in the play-offs. I quit thinking they will fold especially after the 3 game losing streak last year.

come on man ...
this isnt just shitting on a win out of the blue
this is an act we have watched for ten years -- it is the exact same act
i will say the one hope here is that by some magical act JF Pinocchio turns into a real QB
the simple fact that we all are here shows we all hope we wont get fooled again
tomlin is a defensive coach and he going to coach that way ... and until he is forced to change this is what we are going to get
during the game i always hope they win -- but that sinking feeling is legitimate

It’s the Pittsburgh Steelers and there is nothing wrong with wanting John Wooden as your coach so that the team can strive for perfection!W&M_Steeler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 8:28 pmThis is B2B's site, so I think it's a stretch to question his fandom. This philosophy is just striving for victories on Sunday with no hope for beating teams that have strategies and philosophies striving for perfect football in all 3 phases, perfect games and championships. It is subtle, but there is a huge difference. One is Marty Schottenheimer and one is John Wooden!

Nothing.
I think the Steelers will take a QB in the first round also in 2024 because Wilson probably won't be back. Too old. Too fragile. We'll take the best QB available to compete with Fields and that's exactly as it should be.
Rooting for losses doesn't accomplish anything and football is a game. If you aren't backing the team you love, why watch?

And take a look at Caleb Williams's stat line today. Chicago is where QB's go to die. Tomlin is Tomlin when it comes to game planning, but that Chicago system is so pathetic. I don't judge Fields off his stats there in Chicago.

Fields played way above Caleb Williams today with worse weapons. Fields day today was better than anything in lil Ken’s career. Imagine if he was actually entrenched as the starter and they game planned for him. My major concern with Fields is ball security and reading defenses. If they’re smart and use his mobility to limit his reads, they’re on to something. Look at the Ravens with Lamar. He has the same issues as Fields.

Cheering for losses make no sense. Teams that lose, more often than not, continue to lose. Expecting to win for losing sounds quite asinine from my perspective.
Teams that win typically do so because of doing the right things. I cannot recall a scenario where a program of - losing week-in and week-out - was part of a well conceived plan for long term success.
In what reality does the above work? If a team had that sort of authority over winning, then there would be no reason to prove it through failure first. Just start winning now.
