I watched condensed versions of BC and GT
Didn’t look nearly as bad as some say
And HUGE arm with good mobility

That isn’t the only measure but yeah that’s not good. I think he’s one of those guys that just lacks football sense.

Some things that adversely affect comp % for CFB QBs:Jobu wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 3:47 pmNot the only measure, but a significant one.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 4:45 pmThat isn’t the only measure but yeah that’s not good. I think he’s one of those guys that just lacks football sense.
1. Being asked to make 3rd down savior plays after run run on early downs
2. Poor surrounding talent
3. An offense that doesn’t spread the field and take easy throws—runs from tight formations instead
For example, Josh Allen really affected by #2
Will Levis (not that he’s panned out yet) extremely affected by all three, especially 1 & 3.
Florida, Oregon state & FSU have pretty dang good surrounding talent, and the constant in the lack of offensive success in the pass game is the QB.

Not impressed with Milroe at all yesterday but someone will draft him as a "athletic" QB
Was not very impressed with the Tenn QB either but he is a freshman so ...
Until he got hurt, Rourke(IU) looked pretty good.
Ward is a stud and will be #1 player in the 2025 draft.

You’ll see the effect of college recruiting ranking and how it affects where players are drafted.
I don’t think a player has ever gone from zero star recruit to first overall, at least not in the modern era.

Stock Down for Carson Beck
Stock WAY down for Quinn Ewers
Kid needs to avoid the NFL and hit that portal. Step aside for Arch.
Sark costing himself a National Title opting for blind loyalty to a VASTLY inferior QB (Some SERIOUS Irony in that Dr Pepper commerical)
Shit-off stupid
Beck?
Kid can spin it.
Said it once I'll say it again, his weapons SUCK.
Lotta dropped balls out there (I'm looking at YOU Luckie and Humphrey AND YOU ALLIGATOR ARMS LOVETT YOU PIECE OF SHIT)
Still,
I can't tell if Beck wants to shit himself or is just stoned out there. Probably a combination of the two.
Odd look about that cat.
I wouldn't touch him until day 3, but round 3 feels less jaded.
Two best players on the field Saturday night were linebackers
Anthony Hill and Jalon Walker a couple of bad dudes.

Howard is another one I would take in the 2nd.
I also like the LSU QB but I think he needs to go back for another year.

I'm at the point now where I'm starting to not really want any of these guys, with the exception of Ward, who we can't (and probably wouldn't) get, particularly in the early rounds. It's not that I'm super-hyped about our in-house duo, either, it's just the point of the season where a lot of the warts have become more clearly visible, and oh, yeah, the Steelers absolutely blow at development at the position.

I'm still struggling to get a good gauge on Howard. He has the feel of a good Point Guard and he's also throwing to Egbuka and Smith. His accuracy on downfield throws leaves a lot to be desired. He's a good runner, but he hasn't really had to go that route with the weapons at his disposal this year.jebrick wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 11:48 amIf Beck wants to fall to the Steelers pick then woohoo!! Nussmeier is, to my eye, the most NFL-ready of CFB prospecrs… but he also has arm limitations that might affect his ceiling. I would think a nice run by LSU and he’ll never have more draft value. Next year seems to have more competition for guys perceived as Rd 1 QBs

In the 1st round???If Beck wants to fall to the Steelers pick then woohoo!! Only thing I really have against him is his arm.
Ohhh dude I'd be heading to Best Buy for my new flat screen.
Terrible footwork and decision making compounded by being COMPLETELY RATTLED in yet another big road game in the SEC.
Noooo thank you.
I;m probably too close to it
Hopefully Beck and the offense gets their shit together QUICKLY
A Will Howard type on day 2 with Russ Wilson the bridge probably the direction the Steelers go, but a lot of football left to be played.
Nick Markakis on Astros: "Every guy over there needs a beating."
Only one half in the books, but I think we can go ahead and say stock down on Kyle McCord
So much for Filliponi's "the best pocket passer in the country will beat you 31-30" pregame tweet. Bout as accurate as everything else on that platform.
Soon as there was a big game, the big game version of Kyle McCord I not-so-fondly remember from his stint in Columbus showed up like clockwork. Hard pass.
Fight Pitt Fight!

Can't sure if I am not impressed with Allar or Frainklin. I do think Allar should go back to school but perhaps transfer to a place with a decent QB coach.

- I think the Steelers will sign Russ
- Both Fields and Kyle Allen bring something to the table as backups. Neither will be highly sought after. I bet they sign one and draft a QB late OR wait for cuts to start happening and grab a 3 there
- Could they sign both ?? Maybe but they both would need to take backup money
- If the Steelers sign Russ they aren’t drafting a QB til day 3 IMO
Cmon down DJ U or Taylen Green you’re the next contestant on Steelers 3rd string QB

i would disagree on when they draft a QB. I think it could be day one because either Wilson or Fields is a bridge QB at this point.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 3:43 pm- I think the Steelers will sign Russ

QBs will drift down in this draft due to lack of excitement. Ward and Sanders going high and all others falling back. I think Allar and Nussmeier go back to school. If not, I would draft Nussmeier if he fell into the teens.

I think the Steelers will hit the draft with quick starter upgrades possibly on their mind at both OT spots 2 DL spots RB and off ball linebacker
Are they gonna grab a QB in the first over a premium D side need player ?? I doubt it
Are they gonna look at the QBs available in the 50s + and think they GOTTA grab that guy for the future of the franchise immediately after giving Russ a 4 year deal to run an offense that wants to run more than they pass ?? I kinda doubt it
Assuming they nailed the first two rounds and got their guys are they gonna see a QB in the 3rd they like over more immediate needs ? Perhaps. No one fucks up a possibly great draft better than the Steelers lol but I bet we will all be pissed with our 3rd spent on a 3rd at QB lol
In short I just don’t see the Steelers spending a 1st or 2nd on a QB unless Russ really collapses
And in my mind I think that means a 3rd given what will be left is not happening either

And I do not see Russ or Fields getting more than a 3 year deal. If you are not taking a QB high then you are looking at a backup at that point you might as well not take a QB at all.

If the Steelers sign Russ NO WAY will they draft a QB in the 1st. At 50s + will they draft a QB after all the teams who must draft a QB and a few others who are gonna grab talent for the future ? I really doubt it especially considering they will likely have at least 3 - 6 other starter spots they’d like to upgrade AND they KNOW there is gonna be a plethora of cheap FA vet QB talent available before the season starts
I just don’t see which QB is gonna be there at 50+ in the 2nd or 82+ in the 3rd that the Steelers are gonna say we GOTTA grab that guy now

I think there are only 3 teams who seem poised to take a QB or trade/acquire one:
Cleveland
Vegas
Giants
two more who should, but look like they might not
NYJ
CAR
There will be QBs on the market in the offseason:
Darnold
maybe Penix
Daniel Jones
Add to that: many "insiders" saying they don't think the QBs are worth top 5 picks.
Feels like PIT could move up with acceptable damage to draft capital and get the 2nd or 3rd QB drafted. Could be Shadeur Sanders, Milroe, Beck, Gabriel, Ward are viewed in any order by some teams. Long way to go in building their draft resumés.

If the right guy fell, you might see teams trading up into the 1st round to pick one QB up. Again, I would do it for Nussmeier. Any of the Qbs named would need a year on the bench and I would totally hate a Milroe pick.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:32 pmI think there are only 3 teams who seem poised to take a QB or trade/acquire one:

Also, QBs are over valued so a team might move up for one even though they are not the best prospect there.
Will be interested because Sanders has seemed to favor going to the Raiders in his social media.
