1. Being asked to make 3rd down savior plays after run run on early downs
2. Poor surrounding talent
3. An offense that doesn’t spread the field and take easy throws—runs from tight formations instead

For example, Josh Allen really affected by #2
Will Levis (not that he’s panned out yet) extremely affected by all three, especially 1 & 3.

Florida, Oregon state & FSU have pretty dang good surrounding talent, and the constant in the lack of offensive success in the pass game is the QB.

I'm at the point now where I'm starting to not really want any of these guys, with the exception of Ward, who we can't (and probably wouldn't) get, particularly in the early rounds. It's not that I'm super-hyped about our in-house duo, either, it's just the point of the season where a lot of the warts have become more clearly visible, and oh, yeah, the Steelers absolutely blow at development at the position.

I'm still struggling to get a good gauge on Howard. He has the feel of a good Point Guard and he's also throwing to Egbuka and Smith. His accuracy on downfield throws leaves a lot to be desired. He's a good runner, but he hasn't really had to go that route with the weapons at his disposal this year.

Carson Beck is so very Kenny Pickett like. Like imagine Pickett playing in the SEC and there you have it.

Nussmeier is, to my eye, the most NFL-ready of CFB prospecrs… but he also has arm limitations that might affect his ceiling. I would think a nice run by LSU and he’ll never have more draft value. Next year seems to have more competition for guys perceived as Rd 1 QBs

I think the Steelers will hit the draft with quick starter upgrades possibly on their mind at both OT spots 2 DL spots RB and off ball linebacker

Are they gonna grab a QB in the first over a premium D side need player ?? I doubt it

Are they gonna look at the QBs available in the 50s + and think they GOTTA grab that guy for the future of the franchise immediately after giving Russ a 4 year deal to run an offense that wants to run more than they pass ?? I kinda doubt it

Assuming they nailed the first two rounds and got their guys are they gonna see a QB in the 3rd they like over more immediate needs ? Perhaps. No one fucks up a possibly great draft better than the Steelers lol but I bet we will all be pissed with our 3rd spent on a 3rd at QB lol

If the Steelers sign Russ NO WAY will they draft a QB in the 1st. At 50s + will they draft a QB after all the teams who must draft a QB and a few others who are gonna grab talent for the future ? I really doubt it especially considering they will likely have at least 3 - 6 other starter spots they’d like to upgrade AND they KNOW there is gonna be a plethora of cheap FA vet QB talent available before the season starts

I just don’t see which QB is gonna be there at 50+ in the 2nd or 82+ in the 3rd that the Steelers are gonna say we GOTTA grab that guy now

If the right guy fell, you might see teams trading up into the 1st round to pick one QB up. Again, I would do it for Nussmeier. Any of the Qbs named would need a year on the bench and I would totally hate a Milroe pick.

Also, QBs are over valued so a team might move up for one even though they are not the best prospect there.

Will be interested because Sanders has seemed to favor going to the Raiders in his social media.
