We do not have Fields. Or Russ, for that matter. No one is signed for 2025 or beyond. Even Kyle Allen is an unrestricted free agent after the season.
What I meant is, why draft Milroe when we can resign JF who has played in the NFL.
Money. If you’re signing JF to be your starter, it’s going to cost you. A lot more than you’re thinking right now. Like $40M/per. Once Daniel Jones got $40M, hard for a team to argue a starter should be paid less.
I have no ide why any team would think JF is starter material. If he's a bridge QB until you get your rookie in, he's fine enough to play mediocre football for a season or 2.

But right now the Steelers have their bridge QB in Wilson and they should have no interest in JF unless it's for a backup role with backup dollars.

So, you are OK with RW getting ~$40M a year for the next 3 years while 36y/o.
I’m just saying that’s the price. I’d much rather draft a great QB but I think they’ve boxed themselves out of that for now.

JF looked like a guy that could finish above .500 and that makes him starter material for most of the league.

Cool- let someone else pay him big money.
He seems like a fine enough guy and he's a top end backup/low end starter in this league.

I agree. How much draft capitol would you be willing to give up to move in top 5 to draft Ward.

Two firsts and a 3rd

That would get them from, say 19th to 8. I might be willing to add a player to push it up a couple of picks. But honestly, I can’t see Ward or even Sanders falling far enough.
