Or the Great Russell Wilson who can't see the MOF for Crap. I'd rather go with a younger QB who has some upside under an Offensive minded HC, than a short washed QB who can't see over his O-Linemen with an idiotic defensive minded HC who's scared of his own shadow.
I agree

At this point, I’d be more inclined to give Fields $15M p/yr than Wilson $30M+

This assumes Tomlin is still the coach

Not because I think Fields is better, but because I’m clear nothing changes w Tomlin here

So spend less. Use your draft picks to try and find a real QB
Might as well give Zach Wilson $5 million so we can use the rest to overpay more useless defensive players. Or maybe use it to re-sign Dan Moore, even though he sucks, because the turd Broderick Jones sucks even more and will see the bench next season when Fautanu is healthy. Great start, Omar.
Hopefully Fautanu isn't one of those who's always hurt.

Missing on 2 first round Tackles in a row would be a very inauspicious start for Omar. The Steelers 1st round picks have generally been ass since 2013, with the exception of TJ and Shazier, which is one significant reason the Steelers are in this mess.

No more amount of BS speak from The Fraud King can save him from what he is………A Washed Out Fossil Minded HC !!

If you’re still foaming for Gutless Mike, you deserve great intestinal pains for 20 years.

It’s over for this fake, fraud infested egotistical asswipe.

Someone needs to start the embalming process on Art 2 as well. He’s the biggest fake.

Every season ends in disappointment.

Every season we have half a dozen threads [or more] titled fire Tomlin for scamlin I mean Tomlin.

Every new season there he is on the sidelines.

Here is nothing he can say that redeems these recent performances

“We do not run from adversity, we do not blink”
He feels like the problem really lies with execution.
His answer in the postgame interview is the real problem. He relies on getting a bunch of turnover and not committing any just to win a game by 3 points. There is no plan or strategy to outscheme a team and blow them out. It’s just force turnovers, get cheap points, and hope and pray to hang on to a win in the 4th qtr. he genuinely seems lost and baffled when they don’t win the turnover battle in a big way. He’s got no other way to win
This has been his recipe from the start and the more control he's been given, the less chance they've had to be a contender. Play ultra conservative and hope the other team to shits the bed. He's a one trick pony.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

What he is hoping for is what Ben did for him.

Now that that's gone, those things Ben papered over are laid bare.

He has no answer and can't come up with one.

Maybe he can blow some goddamned kisses at the camera.

Bradshaw didn't carry much of anything until 1978, and in fact didn't start for much of his early career.

Joe Greene and Mel Blount and Franco carried him.
Might want to redo your research. The Steelers do not win any of the four Super Bowls without Bradshaw at the helm. '70-'73, I will agree with you for the most part. After the benching at the beginning of '74, Bradshaw got religion.

"We would not have been as successful, we would not have won those four Super Bowls, if it wasn't for Bradshaw. Out of all the Hall of Fame players we had during that period of time, he was the one key factor in our success. I don't believe any other quarterback would have done it." - Rocky Bleier
Terry was unquestionably instrumental, but SB 9 was all defense and Franco
Yes, agree, but it was TB's passing on the final drive to make the score 16-6.

It’s been a really long time and I’m too tired to look it up, but iirc Terry was something like 9-16 for 100 yds

Fire Tomlin -

Deuce is perfectly fine with Tomlin. He will prob give Jibbs a raise after they get their asses kicked by Cincy and then extend him by 7 years after getting beat 45-12 in the wildcard game.

After that Eagles loss I knew they’d not win another game this year.
Nope. He will be let go after the Bengals and playoff loss!

Book it!

Sure he will.

Dunce made money today. That’s all he cares bout.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

First time since 1988 Steelers have lost 3 straight games by double digits, and only second time since 1970, doubt that will wake Dunce up but it should.

How much in concessions was lost when the crowd left early in utter disgust?

At least a few thousand? Beer sales maybe cutoff then though.

Trying to see something good out of this.

They are getting to be ratings disasters in December! That will indirectly kill merch sales. Unless the networks like the Washington Generals outcomes.

there used to be the deer in headlights when things went wrong. langer mentioned it a few weeks back but that has been replaced .., he does this odd thing now when everything goes wrong .., he sort of crouches and starts rocking back and forth … quite odd.

the commentators after the game and even brady have finally stated to have a few harsh words or at least hard questions directed at tomlin.

and .., did we expect anything less after the game then his tired old response about “execution”. he truly seems to believe he needs to do Nothing aside from attend practice and stick to the Plan. nothing is his fault / it’s all the players fault,

and this is all a broken record now

it’s getting Piratesesquebut with NHALS

every year is some hope of something different and some new line of bullshit from the team.
but bottom line rules and they don’t seem to really care about anything but a cash cow.

but it won’t change and we all deep down know it won’t. a few years is a breakable trend … 12 years of the exact same thing despite the musical chairs is the rule and certainly seems to be an intentional operations mode

not to mention that …. IMHO the brand just isn’t the same anymore. this isn’t and hasn’t been the steelers we all knew and loved.

I admit, for like a week or two I thought they were legit contenders.

Maybe the most maddening part of all this is Tomlin approaches the playoffs the exact same way. He plays not to lose, which is fine for NHALS but doesn't win playoff games. Except I think Tomlin believes he actually plays to win, which is why the approach never changes. Or I guess when you view the playoffs as a lottery ticket you think it's just bad luck and not your game plan and scheme.

Believes his own bullshit. Probably no bigger indictment of him.

The interview the sideline bimbo had with him was curious. He was all over the place, sounded in a state of panic, just uttering demonic jibberish. I expected his head to start spinning like a top.

I don't think he has the wherewithal to pull himself out of his addiction to panic. Some people can't, they continue looking for the next hit, the attraction is so strong they aren't aware of it happening and can't stop it. That is part of his odd rocking himself for comfort, much as a young child does looking for his mother. He wants protection.

I think about Bill Walsh when these things happen with Coach Mike.

Did Bill ever blow a goddamned kiss to the camera?? No one can tell Coach Mike anything it seems. He's up the river on his own, creating his own world with his wife and her goddamned clothing store in the Strip.

I know this, your ability to think concisely, your ability to make good judgments is much easier on Thursday night than during the heat of the game. So we prefer to make our decisions related to the game almost clinically, before the game is ever played.

The stats were there to back it up though. There was a step change in offensive output. Everyone saw it and that is why one bought in.

Then GP gets hurt and the defense goes on Holiday break. Step change back the other way.

Not trying to minimize stuff, but art II aint doing shit. Keep in mind that many picked this team to finish last in the norf. They're about to finish second and go to the playoffs. Yes, they've lost 3 in a row, but 3 to the NFL's elite, two of those losses without their best playmaker. The national media still fawns all over this guy, thinks we're ingrates for wanting him gone. They don't see him coach every week where his game day dumbfuckedness is on display...yesterday, down 19, 10 min left, 4th and 2, and he punts??? Dafuq!!

If he would entertain questions from his fanbase, like a townhall, that would be interesting. I would pay to go to an event like that. The amount of pretending he does.....it would be like lighting the room on fire if I could ask that question, prefacing it with some other preperatory remarks about being fake.
