Sit out George
This team and most of its fans are useless
You are gonna get HUGE money in one year
The only thing the Steelers next year could do is make things worse
Possibly even get you badly injured
The Steelers have NOTHING for you George. And you know it.
Sit out next year
It’s the very best thing you could do
It’s the smart move
Protect you and your family’s future
Sit out next year and protect yourself and your interests George

STD, we truly don't deserve you. Have you ever considered conducting your own hold-in here at Steelerfury until B2B starts paying you for all of your insightful commentary rather than threaten to ban you occasionally?

The best thing is to move him
He deserves no ball washing today....more like...a kick in the balls. Will he show up next week...who fucking knows...
Tomlins post game lasted about 5 min. A few softball questions. Fuck em both...

From what I saw last night he’s already started to sit out.

STD praising a player who quit on the field last night. Had a possible Hall of Fame QB in Russell Wilson begging him on the sidelines trying to beg Pickens to help the team.
Ben Roethlisberger was sickened by Pickens’ effort vs the Chiefs and I KNOW Ben is going to rightfully SHIT ALL OVER Pickens this week again but STD is worried about a fellow mental midget’s future career prospects.
Perfect.

A question worth asking is, outside of the Chiefs, who have kind of shown they don't need one, how many legit playoff teams with good QBs out there are looking for a WR1 that wouldn't rather just try and draft one rather than throw big money at one with baggage?

Doubt they would trade him to a good team, they would give him the AB/Claypool/DJ treatment which is to trade him to the shittiest situation possible, and if I was GM this would be the second thing I would do this offseason, right after I fired Tomlin. Fuck George, he’d be on the next plane to the Giants or Panthers.

I’m going to email every WR ranked in the top 300 players and most importantly their agents and explain in full detail why they should stay far far away from Pittsburgh forever
I’m also gonna email every media type outside Pittsburgh the same email and tell them I sent it to every WR ranked in the top 300
Hopefully word starts getting around in circles that matter that the Steelers and much of their supposed “fanbase” are nothing but disaster and destruction for offensive talent
ESPECIALLY WRs
Stay far far away from Pittsburgh
Your career, health, ability, and reputation will be ruined
And you’ll get ALL the blame from a very large portion of fans who severely lack an understanding of football post 1960’s and as a special added bonus consistently enjoy promoting a strong undercurrent of wink wink nudge nudge racism
Hopefully the Steelers will crash and burn and be forced to start the WHOLE thing over with a better staff from top to bottom
Administration
Secretarial
Scouting
Groundskeeping
Coaching
Players
Everything
The coaching is bad. The worst part is the the immense staff that have zero to do with coaching
THEY ARE the ones who promulgate this pound the rock bullshit on a deep deep level
The Steelers are in bad shape. Much worse however than many realize unfortunately

Well, that oughta do it. Can't wait to see the league-wide ripple effect.
For the record, AB, Martavis, Claypool, Juju and Wallace's careers all got significantly worse after leaving Pittsburgh. Hell, throw in Yancey Thigpen, too.
I sense with that last post, though (and probably the OP) that we may have left the real world behind a few rest stops ago.

The Bills should definitely be calling the Steelers about Pickens. They have 2 2nd round picks, but I bet the Steelers would send him away for a 3rdIce wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 1:15 pmWe'll have to assume that arguably the best QB in franchise history is in the "useless fan" category, I guess.K_C_ wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 1:02 pmSTD praising a player who quit on the field last night. The Pickens situation sucks. His antics are getting intolerable despite the immense talent. I get his frustrations at the jurassic offense, but behaving like a child isn't going to help at all.
Here it looks like he's threatening a Pittsburgh area critic (of him and Tomlin) on Instagram:
https://x.com/frankmikesmith/status/1875792123800514586
He's definitely missing a few screws. But, the Steelers already have the worst WR situation and trading him away leaves us literally with nothing. We'd have to be sure we land an FA and then more draft capital on WRs (on top of all our other needs).

I think he'll either sit out, or if he's smart, demand a trade. I'd put the odds of either happening at 70%.
The Steelers have absolutely nothing behind him.
Our #2 WR Van Jefferson played 721 snaps this year and caught 24 passes for 276 yards and 2 TDs.
So if he's smart, he'll demand to be moved. That would be the best thing for his career. Go somewhere where's he's not basically the sole focal point on offense because the other RBs, WRs, TEs, and the QBs are all trash, and play in an actual real, modern NFL offense that doesn't just pass the ball as a nuisance. I expect this is what is likely to happen.
But if for some reason he actually wants to be here (lol), he should sit out, demand a huge contract with huge guaranteed money, and if not let Coach T roll with CAIII, or whatever C tier free agents they bring in (and this WR FA class is meh outside of Higgins, who won't come here unless he just wants to sabotage his career).
The latter would be my preferred scenario. Pickens sits out as a huge distraction, the Steelers scramble and roll out the worst WR core in football, and we lose a shit ton of games next year in a hugely embarrassing fashion.

Holy shit. Just think about how insanely bad that is. Every member of the offensive coaching staff should be fired. Think about how bad that would be in 1975, let alone 2025.

Pickens is mentally insane. He isn't freaking out because he isn't seeing enough passes or because he's unhappy in the offense, he's acting like a dickhead because George Pickens is a dickhead. Plain and simple.
I don't know if Pickens will ball out Saturday night or not, but he will be out of the league in a few years (like Diontae Johnson) regardless. Johnson is just an asshole and George Pickens should be institutionalized.
Here's to hoping in the future the Steelers find talent at the WR position that aren't mental midgets and I think that will happen in the first round this year with Emeka Egbuka being added and likely another WR a round or 2 later if Pickens is moved.

We need to be as bad as possible next year, so let's hope they don't find anyone worth a damn this offseason.
Or better yet, if they do, let's hope they get hurt next year so they're not good until 2026.
Next year needs to be the reckoning if Tomlin is back. We need all of our collective spirits, hopes, prayers, wishes, horseshoes up asses, four leaf clovers stuffed in peeholes, rabbit feet, monkey paw hands smaller than lil ken's, heads up pennies, whatever else you can think of to be all pointed in the direction of pulling for an absolute disaster of a season. No more Chris Boswell bail outs, no more insanely fortunate turnover differentials, no more key injuries that always seem to benefit us at the right time...
We need doinked field goals, bad bounces, key soft tissue injuries to our guys at the wrong time that aren't enough to give an obvious built-in excuse, and our opponents to be locked in and healthy.
The Steelers should be doing everything in their power to be positioned to start the rebuild in 2026. Maybe trade away a few guys this offseason to load up on future picks, or even trade out of the first round this year to get more draft capital in 2026.
Everything should be working towards setting up next season to be an abject failure so the Tomlin era can end and we can start the rebuild we should have started 4 years ago.

If the Steelers get blown out on Saturday night and finish the season losing 5 in a row and Mike Tomlin doesn't make some sort of statement like; "This one really hurts. I'm going to have to really do some soul searching to see if I'm the man to lead this team going forward and things of that nature", then Tomlin is going to come back and he'll be around for a long time to come.tbsteel wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 5:08 pmWe need to be as bad as possible next year, so let's hope they don't find anyone worth a damn this offseason.

Tomlin should (emphasis on "should") be devastated if this season ends the way it looks like it's going to (although I'm far from convinced they're going to lose on Saturday night) because the way Russ and even Fields played for much of the season, it looked like a shoe-in the Steelers were going to finish 12-5 or 13-4 and were most definitely going to host a playoff game at Acrisure. Landing Russ and him playing really well no doubt had Tomlin dreaming of another Super Bowl appearance.
That doesn't look like it's going to happen.
If Tomlin doesn't hang em up if we get boat raced in Baltimore (again, I think that's far from guaranteed. Lamar has played like an idiot far too often for me to already give him a W here) then Tomlin ain't leaving for a decade.

I hate Tomlin and it's a bad look to have so many malcontents and crazy motherfuckers on the team throughout the years but I'm sure Pickens' incredible talent made both Colbert (or Khan, I forget who drafted Pickens) and Tomlin overlook Pickens' mental problems....and that motherfucker is full on crazy.Deebo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 5:27 pmI was told that Tomlin knows how to relate to every single black man and that's why they all play hard for himK_C_ wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 4:56 pmHere's the problem.......tbsteel wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 4:51 pm

I'm praying that Pickens puts up 7 catches for 120 and 2 TD's on Baltimore, the Steelers win and Pickens plays great until the Steelers are eliminated and then the suitors will line up for GP and will overpay for him and the Steelers fucking GET RID OF THIS MENTAL MIDGET.

While Pickens may very well be “mentally insane” (that’s a DNA problem not a University of Georgia problem) the overriding problem is that posters like myself are insanely openly rooting for and discussing changes to player personnel when we know damn well that Perch, B2B, and others (myself included) are 100% correct.
It’s all just an exercise in wheel spinning until the next Rooney takes the reigns and makes meaningful changes to the coaching staff and the Steelers’ philosophical approach to playing the game of football.
But I for one just can’t help myself (this is a message board after all)
I want to pontificate about what team will be shit-off stupid enough to trade for Pickens.
I want to understand how the league has not learned their collective lesson after the Steelers’ swindled teams into taking AB, Martavis, and Dionte?
I think your Steelers are going to have to release Crazy George.
He’s entering the last year of his contract and coming off a nationally televised nightmare performance that even gave Aikman and Buck pause.
Then what kind of hole are they in at the WR position?
Bigger than that question is WHEN will somebody in the Steelers’ organization finally come to the realization that they have to STOP wasting draft capital on “mentally insane” players.
I don’t need a team of choir boys, but the Crazy George experiments just aren’t ending well.
Free Agency
Trades
The Draft
I want to talk about ways to improve the WRs and the team as a whole.
But then
Insanity (reality) hits
There’s just no point to it

I don’t disagree that the Steelers might have to release this crazy motherfucker but I’m praying someone, anyone in that locker room is at least trying to make him understand that if this dude can ball out next week and for possibly a game or 2 after that, he could get his wish and get out of Pittsburgh and maybe even be sent to a quality organization with a legit passing attack.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 6:25 pmHere’s the problem with your problem,

If Pickens is released, he’ll literally have zero chance at a big money contract after next season, no matter where he lands. Pickens is most certainly crazy, but we’ll soon find out if he’s stupid too.
Both problems are not always mutually exclusive.

The good news is that Tyreek Hill is on the market for a trade. One malcontent for another
