too much blaming of Tomlin for just taken the gift he has been given and not on the nepo virtue signaler

Was at my daughter’s volleyball game and checked the Chargers/Texans score on espn - yeah I know. BSPN blows but just wanted to see the score then saw a short video caption (didn’t watch it) that said NFL owners would fire their head coach if Tomlin was to become available. Why??? Why does the media constantly blow Jibbs? I just don’t fucking get it. He and Mike McCarthy are the same coach with very similar stats. McCarthy doesn’t get fellated in the media. What the fuck?

I was watching ‘Get Up’ on Wed morning (i was on a treadmill - otherwise I’d never watch that..).
They did a piece about the likelihood of Tomlin being traded.
The panel, including Greenberg, spent more time offering disclaimers for even talking about it, than the story itself..
“its not us saying the steelers should get rid of Tomlin. it was a report by Shefter, so we are discussing it. We cant believe we’re even discussing this..”
I couldnt believe the fear they had even talking about it. (well actually, i could unfortunately)

I see fraudlin is in very good company. Has another postseason loss to add to the ole’ résumé.
I’m sure teams will line up across the Allegheny River to be the lucky franchise to hire the great mediocre Mike.

That's the franchises first such streak since 1969, Chuck Noll's first year on the job. Pittsburgh went 1-13 that year. #Steelers

Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Will be interesting to see what Art Rooney says over the next few days because as far as direction of the team, his voice is the only one that matters. #Steelers

To be fair, landing a perennial .535 winning average coach would be an upgrade for many organizations and a boon to their bank account.Works At A Bank wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 11:44 pmWas at my daughter’s volleyball game and checked the Chargers/Texans score on espn - yeah I know. But not for premier teams. Yankees, Cowboys, Packers, Steelers, Lakers. The premier moniker of fading fast!

It's difficult for many of you and even myself to face the real truth. This team will be average until it is sold.
Rooneys went stale and rotten long before mediocre Mike did.
Any ideas about rebuilding or draft are a waste of time since you can't win when the owner is not focused on winning but being woke.

We have to hope that the next Rooney is less afraid of his own shadow.
I've wanted Tomlin gone since early in the 4th quarter at NO in 2018. Our season was on the line with 15:00 to play and our offense just got done spreading and shredding their defense for 2 TD drives to take a 4 point lead.
Tomlin then pissed his pants, his ass puckered, and lived in his fears.
That team with that talent on offense had no business missing the playoffs and could have pulled off a 2008 Cardinals post season run. Not with Tomlin at the helm though.
I've wanted an offense head coach ever since.

Steelers Thoughts: The problems all start with Mike Tomlin
https://www.pennlive.com/steelers/2025/ ... omlin.html
But why does this keep happening? Why is the coaching continuing to loom over this team year after year? Whether it is the hires of assistants or coordinators, this Steelers team is not detailed enough nor competent enough from a gameplan perspective to justify this as anything other than coaching.
The Steelers have the worst first-quarter defense and the second-worst first-quarter offense in the NFL this year. That is not a made-up stat. They allow over six points per game in the first quarter each week, and score just above three points in the first quarter this season. To not mince words, that can only be blamed on coaching and a lack of game-planning throughout the week.
The common denominator is Tomlin. This team has baffling examples of coaching gaffes throughout the game and their season, and when that all happens, it should fall at the feet of Tomlin.

Here’s how to explain this to non Steelers fans.
Which would you rather have:
A) A team whose floor is .500 and ceiling is first round playoff loss.
B) A team whose floor is a losing record and whose ceiling is the Super Bowl.
We have A.
Most of us want B.

Sadly, after giving Tomlin that ill-advised extension last year, Rooney will probably cling to hope that Tomlin validates the decision. Admitting he made a mistake might be even more painful than eating the last two years of Tomlin's deal.
