Super Bowl: predictions and game thread
I want the eagles to win cuz of the calls of which the chiefs are the beneficiary, and im not down with the three-peat. That said, last year I was down with the re-peat as didn't want niners to tie the Steelers. Mostly, I'm rooting for the squares held by my family to be winners. We're on a two year win streak, so we would like to three-peat as well. Best squares among the 5 of us...me, mrs Swiss, son, daughter, dog, are held by Jazzy. She would be the dog.
Now, as much as I want chiefs to lose, and I think that city of Philadelphia gets torched by the insane bird fans either way, I think the chiefs will win. Here's why. As good as the eagles d is, the commanders moved the ball against them on 3rd and 4th downs. Their fumbles killed them. Rams moved the ball late too...and chiefs excel in picking up 3rd down after 3rd Dow after 3rd down. Birds win only if they're equally proficient at moving the ball and keeping mahomes' ass on the sideline.

If the Eagles can't score a TD on their first drive it will be a long day. Can't play catch-up easy with Mahomes and the refs.
Heart wants the Eagles to win but brain thinks Mahomes has already won the game.

Whichever outcome would make the Steelers more irrelevant in the NFL.
At this point, Art and Jibbs are fading the teams historical prestige, a prestige rightfully earned by the great men before these clowns lowered the Steelers standard.
So, probably Andy Reid and the Chiefs.
The fact that Jibbs arrogantly, compared his situation to Andy Reid, back when the rumors were swirling, about Tomlin taking a HC job at USC, was laughably pathetic.

I have Chefs fatigue and would rather see the Eagles end their 3 peat try. Yea the town will burn anyway and that's ok. Looking forward to the DOGE commercialsStillchest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 8:15 pmWhichever outcome would make the Steelers more irrelevant in the NFL.

Mahomes and Reid are on their way to replacing Belicheat and Shady as the GOAT. That's something all Steeler fans should be able to root for.
Prediction: We’ll see more offense in this game than what the Steelers sputtered out while losing 5 straight.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 81 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

OK, during the national anthem....is it correct for the POTUS to salute (like service people do) or cover his heart like everyone else? Or is it either?

Philly goes up early, dominating slow-starting KC. Then with comfortable lead Iggles go into turtle mode and/or Hurts gets hurt and the final period is placed in the small hands of Kenny the P, who promptly serves up a pick 6 which combined with crucial, blatant bad calls favoring the red menace gives the Chefs the tarnished Lombardi of the WWF-- errrr, NFL. Or something like that
January/February used to mean something to Steeler fans. Frickin' Rooney

Cool anthem.

I saw that Mahomes set a record with 17 INTs canceled due to penalties this year. Hard to beat the Chiefs and the refs.

That’s not Tom Cruise.
Remember that movie Looker? Pretty good prediction of the future.

Expecting to see Eagles down 6 with around 5 mins left. Definitely want to see them pull it off for a W somehow.
Go Barkley!
Eagles DL is stacked.

So it begins.
Seriously, the very first big play by the Iggles get flagged on a weak ass call.

On the other hand, if the DB did that everyone would expect a flag. And it would be warranted.
Not that it mattered but...no call for illegal block in the back on the rusher that had the last shot at Mahomes.
