You were way ahead of the curve on this. TJ is a dominant stat machine, but he doesn't seem to have the killer instinct / drive to win that true Steelers greats of the past did. Do you see James Harrison or Greg Lloyd or Jack Lambert passively tackling someone who didn't have the ball over and over again just because the coach said so, even if it clearly wasn't working like TJ did in this Ravnes playoff game? I think those guys would do something about such nonsense. Maybe I'm wrong.
I'm not as far down the "Low Watt" road as you, STD, but I am starting to head down that path. Watt, Cam, Minkah- they appear to be company men and enablers who would rather lose than rock the boat.
It’s been well documented Tomlin actually coached a similar scenario fwiw

Ooooh! That’s quite the burn! Did that make you feel better?
Now, tell me about his small hands.
You, Mark Madden, Joe Starkey and the countless others that suffer from PDS can rest easy knowing that Pickett is no longer your problem, and yet you can’t stop talking about him.
Kenny Pickett freed himself from the dysfunctional clutches of the Steeler cult. In their spiteful effort to screw him, they traded him to a real team with real coaches and a real culture. He has a ring and has learned far more to continue his NFL career than if he stayed in Pittsburgh with Mediocre Mike.
KP8 riding the coattails of a really good team isn't 1 of them.
Pickett is the embodiment of everything that is wrong with the organization and the fanbase. From the selection to his departure, the Steelers did NOTHING to help him. It wasn’t Pickett’s fault the Steelers drafted him, failed to develop him or provide him the tools and support he needed to see if he could develop into a franchise QB. Steeler fans ripped Colbert for drafting him and Kenny for not developing himself, but nary a word was ever spoken about the incompetent coaching dipshit who wanted to draft him, gave him Matt Canada as his OC, and had zero plans to develop him. (That plan also seemed to be AOK with Art II, billionaire dipshit.)
Kenny didn’t ride the coattails of anything. He didn’t seek a trade to a Super Bowl contender. He just wanted out. He was traded to the Eagles out of spite, and hilariously ended up with a ring. He actually played in a Super Bowl, something Heyward and Watt will NEVER do. The Steelers knew what they were doing by trading him there. The Eagles have a young franchise QB and the odds of Pickett playing were zero without injury. That was a “fuck you, Kenny” trade. Pickett knew what was up. Everyone did. I love that the Eagles won, because mouth-breathing Steeler fans are STILL bitching about Pickett. Pickett isn’t and wasn’t the problem.
One thing, though. The Eagles were looking to draft Pickett, so they like him. And if you look at their roster and their drafting over the last 5 years, they have done some tremendous work. They wouldn’t waste their time with Pickett if they didn’t think he could help the team. Pickett is also very well-liked by his teammates in Philadelphia... all in all, the year went much better for Pickett than it did for Heyward, Watt, and the rest of Tomlin’s sycophant gang. If Pickett ever has a chance to start again in the NFL, his trade to Philadelphia will be the reason why. His career would have been crushed if he stayed in Pittsburgh, because there is no offense in Pittsburgh. There is no player development in Pittsburgh. Anyone with any raw skill, like Pickens, will do whatever they can to get out before their career goes up in smoke too.
You can’t control where you are drafted. Brock Purdy would be on a practice squad right now or out of the league if he was drafted by the Steelers.
But it doesn't matter. KP will be out of the league within 2 years.

My opinion is my opinion. No better or worse than anyone else’s here, including yours.
Where Kenny is in 2 years is not important to me. If he is starting somewhere, a backup, or onto his life’s work, it doesn’t matter. It’s important to you and all the Pickett haters who have nothing else to focus on. The guy has been gone for a year now, and you still can’t let him go. Because you HAVE to be right about something. “Pickett sucks! He is a quitter! He said he didn’t learn anything watching Mason! He refused to dress! He wouldn’t compete with Russ! He’s a pussy! He has SMALL HANDS!”
Steeler fans are in a major cope right now. The same people who hated on (and still hate) Pickett are ready to fellate Justin Fields. “Can’t let him go! He has so much upside! He’s a great athlete! The Steelers can develop him!” Why do you suppose that is? Fields SUCKS. The good news? He will probably find another team willing to shell out some money and give him a real opportunity. The only way Fields comes back is if he has no other option.
I heard the losers on The Fan discussing Pickett this morning. Un-fucking-believable. But one of them said something that I never considered. The massive hate boner that many have for Pickett is because he went to Pitt, and there are a ton of Penn State fans who are also Steelers fans. If that is true, that’s just pathetic. But there is some reason that Pickett has enraged so many people. Is that it? Are grown men that pathetic that they would actively root against a player because he went to a “rival” university? Or is it because they have to find a landing spot for their frustrations, and the HC continues to be mostly off-limits?
Surely it plays a role for assholes like Mark Madden, who can’t stand anything Pitt. Maybe he wasn’t accepted there, who knows. But Madden can’t stop talking about Pickett either. Either can his little toady, Benz.
I don’t care where Pickett is in 2 years, but I’m rooting for him. I’d love to see him haunt the Steelers braintrust and fanbase. I want the team to spiral into the abyss, The more evidence there is that Tomlin is an absolute fraud, the closer we all are to seeing him go. And the more evidence that builds up on Tomlin’s fraudulent coaching “abilities” the more his case for Canton weakens. That’s what I care about. I know he’s a virtual lock for the place... for the same reasons he’s still employed, but I can dream. And if the HOF can stiff Eli, they can stiff Mediocre Mike... even if he eventually gets in, I’d love it if the HOF rejects Tomlin for a decade or so. Better yet, keep him out as long as he’s alive. That narcissistic prick needs to have his ego crushed, (I’ll bet Tomlin and Deuce go in together and their busts will have included torsos and they will be holding hands.)

It is mind-numbingly backwards. You hear ALL THE TIME that one of the most important aspects of QBing is getting in the right play.
I mean, the OC calls a play, but then the defense shows a different look than expected. And you don't want your QB to audible?
How ARROGANT to think your playcall is good before even seeing the defensive shift or how they might adjust to your set. One can only assume this is more organizational laziness, because planning audibles and coaching the offense for all that is more work and effort.

My actions? Really? My only action is not joining in on the PDS circle jerk. I don’t even compliment him, I just point out that focusing hate on Pickett (especially a year after he was traded) is pointless and a waste of time. He doesn’t play for the Steelers
My interest in Pickett begins and ends at how his time in Pittsburgh transpired. I don’t care if you or anyone hates Pickett or thinks he sucks. The Pickett timeline should have cost Tomlin his job. Instead Tomlin became more powerful and Pickett was demonized.
That’s as far as it goes with me.

One thing, though. The Eagles were looking to draft Pickett, so they like him. And if you look at their roster and their drafting over the last 5 years, they have done some tremendous work. They wouldn’t waste their time with Pickett if they didn’t think he could help the team.
The Steelers suck at player development
Kenny Pickett has a ceiling as an average QB

Please provide it. I’ve never seen anyone confirm this story, it’s been assumed and spread by the Steelers PR team and their sycophants in the media to demonize Pickett, which they had to do. Half the fanbase wanted Pickett to get a shot with a new coordinator. No, Pickett had to be the selfish POS so the Steelers and Tomlin didn’t look like the bad guy.
And it worked. Look at you. A grown adult still pissed at a 27 year old who made a career decision based on all the info he had at the time. Info that none of us here have.
What do you care? You hate Pickett. He sucks. He’s not worthy of being the QB for your vaunted franchise anyway! Move on with your life!
PDS is a real problem with Steeler fans. Most of you act like a scorned boyfriend who can’t accept your girl told you to fuck off and get lost. Stop following her and waiting for her to fuck up so you can laugh at her and say “I told you so!”.
Pickett’s life is much better now. He doesn’t care about you, Steeler Nation, the Rooneys, Tomlin or losers like Heyward and Watt. If he never plays another snap, he will always be a Super Bowl Champion. That nugget of reality has to kill PDS sufferers.

Oooh! More insults! Another burn! I’d better get some treatment for this injury!
Do you really think I care about Kenny Pickett? How sad. I don’t care. You do. You are a pathetic grown up, still crying about a player who is no longer on your favorite team because he rejected the black and gold and the great Mike Tomlin and hurt your feels. He wasn’t the QB you wanted him to be? Didn’t have that all-in, “fuck my future, I am loyal to the black and gold 4ever because they have great fans like Zeke!” mentality? Ah, that’s a shame.
Read what I wrote again. There is nothing there that says he is “great”. I don’t even know if he will ever start in the NFL again. Are you feeling rage seeing Kenny wind up in that Eagles jersey? Just wait until he gets his beautiful SB LIX ring! You need to see someone about your PDS. Tell your doctor.
If he makes it 3 more years, he qualifies for his NFL pension and he’ll have a better NFL career than probably 90% of all players. He also has a ring, and if he’s an Eagle next year, he might get a second.
Say it with me. Kenny Pickett! Super Bowl Champion!
Seriously, see your doctor. He might be able to give you something to treat your PDS.
And yes I absolutely do think you care about KP. Your actions state as such.
My actions?
But you do you.

Assuming he is back-up again next year, he will be in the league for a long while. Some team will take a chance on him with the Super Bowl Champion halo proving just enough.

The Eagles know what they are doing. They wanted to draft Kenny from the get go. And for all the haters don’t discount what Charlie Batch and Leftwich did for Ben. We didn’t do shit after they left…because there was too much brain drain to help give BB the extra edge!
I suspect Kenny runs a tight ship in practice and gives valuable help in the QB room for Hurts or he’d be gone.
This is all a nature versus nurture argument. Kenny is old by QB standards so the nature versus nurture argument gets distorted.
We will never know what could have been.
But I know one thing Mike Tomlin and the Steelers org hosed Kenny in the nurture department. Sure everything looked kosher on the surface, but we all know running game, qb play, WR play and even TE play is all a shit show at this point, when you start digging it is all rust.
If you hate Kenny Pickett you are talking out of both sides of your mouth and prolonging Tomlin’s tenure; basically saying Tomlin was a football savant to make the offseason and probably in-season overtures to Russ Wilson and then later Fields. Cost us another year, obfuscated talent decisions in both player and coaching ranks!

I agree. I just don’t understand all the hate that continues to pour onto a 3rd year player who was drafted into a shitty situation (and has been gone for a year) and NOT poured onto Tomlin and how he handled not just Pickett but the entire QB room. Tomlin should be drowning in abuse by this pathetic fanbase.zeke5123 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 5:01 pmI think Fields is mid, I hate Tomlin, and didn’t go to PSU (didn’t go to Big Ten or ACC).
A QB room BTW, that looks like it has a good chance of completely flipping for the 2nd year in a row.
I just think the anger is misplaced and completely out of proportion.

Pickett represents the dysfunction of the Steelers. Everything about him, from being drafted to his exit and everything in between, should have brought the hammer down on our messiah HC. But the Steelers organization is very good at manipulating their fan base.
No, the only people Kenny is fucking is every nutball who can’t let him go. He’s in your heads. That’s why I hope he gets a chance to start again in the NFL and has his Gino Smith or Sam Darnold season. .So all PDS sufferers can finally snap. It will be glorious.

I'd say that person has KDS, but keep trying to play that reverse UNO card. It wears so well on you.
I’m just having some good fun. Took me about 90 seconds to create that avatar. Maybe you should ask yourself why it makes you so emotional. It’s supposed to be a joke and make folks laugh. But for some reason, Pickett angers people. I’m sure it has nothing to do with PDS.
You know what will wear better on me? My genuine NFL Official Pittsburgh Steelers Kenny Pickett jersey! (Time to check those eBay listings)
Mike Tomlin and NHALS - The embodiment of the soft bigotry of lowered expectations.
Emotional? Naw man, just sitting in my chair watching a dipshit go on and on and on about KP. It's fucking entertaining.CoolShades wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 2:33 pmI’m good. You are the one that seems hell-bent on proving you don’t have PDS.Deebo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 8:08 pmOne of us went to lengths to create an avatar about KP and Tomlin.CoolShades wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 5:43 pm

Does your chair have wheels? That might explain your anger/lack of humor. If so, my sympathies.
Dipshit? Man that hurts. Name calling on a message board? That’s emotional!
What does a woman do when she is called out for being emotional? She denies she is being emotional. I’ve seen this movie before. It’s very predictable. (Don’t know anything about bruising tonsils… must be something you are familiar with.) LOOOOOOLZ!
Why is ANYONE talking about Kenny Pickett here?
If you didn’t give a shit, you wouldn’t bother responding. Why waste your time over a shitty player who quit on your team? Because you are emotional and need to have the last word, just like a woman. Even on a topic as pointless as this one. It’s time to let go of your Pickett hate. It’s the first step in PDS recovery. YOU CAN DO IT!
Go ahead. You are seething. You can have the last word on Kenny Pickett. You are very boring, and talking about Pickett is pointless.
It’s ok. I’m just having fun. As an olive branch, I’ll make sure to save you a spot in the Eagles Super Bowl Parade (It’s TOMORROW! What a Valentine’s Day present!). When it comes out, I’ll also make sure to post a picture of their ring!
Kenny Pickett
Super Bowl LIX Champion!
LOLZ!
Dunce can no longer be left out of this equation. The only person fucking me is Mike Tomlin. Until he is gone, the Steelers are dead to me.
But hey, look on the bright side, now you are getting tag teamed. Even better.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 82 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.
