What I don't comprehend are all the fans who are getting worked up because Rodgers isn't in a rush to sign in the middle of fucking March. What he does shouldn't impact anything the Steelers do.

They apparently don't want Russell Wilson. Joe Flacco isn't going anywhere. Rodgers isn't a long term solution so he shouldn't impact their draft evaluation at all (he probably will, but only because this franchise is incredibly shortsighted and focused on the wrong things).

The talking heads do their thing and fans bark and clap like seals.

Most fans think the sun should rise and set for their team only. Nothing out of the ordinary there. The national media birthing self righteous beefsteak over it is basically them just doing their jobs, too. Not much to see here, really. The world turns, and the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Frankly I didn't think Wilson was that bad until Artie hamstrung him on audibles.

Well if Winston signing with the giants is correct. Where does that leave the choices for Wilson OR AR

Sounds like Winston signed with the Giants so Wilson is still out there. Let that sink in that the Giants would rather have Winston.

Dulac reporting Rodgers in Pittsburgh today?
Seeing that as well.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac reports Aaron Rodgers is at the Steelers’ facility, suggesting a possible deal “could be forthcoming.”
Unless he’s personally inviting Arthur Smith on a darkness retreat, an impending deal is the next most logical guess. If Rodgers wants to play for a contender next season, it doesn’t take much to realize the Steelers are the best option as things stand right now. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported after Dulac’s initial report that “no deal at this time is close,” while noting that Rodgers did meet with the coaching staff. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero also reports Rodgers is “seriously considering playing his 21st season in Pittsburgh.” With several reports flying around and nothing appearing guaranteed at this point, it goes without saying that this is a wait-and-see situation. As usual.

Never liked the douchebag.

That said, Roger’s is playing this out right.

Perhaps he’s taken a page out of the Kirk Cousins book, “How to fleece franchises”.

The longer A-A-Ron plays this out the more desperate teams become.

The better chance he gets to fulfilling his contract demands.

He’s smart. Still a douchenozzle but smart.

Each day that goes by benefits A-A-Ron not teams interested.

Will anyone be surprised when this shitshow continues passed this month?

The Steelers look more incompetent each day that passes, JMO.

LOL....no no no wanting to play for a contender is why Rodgers HASN'T already signed with PIT. Dulac was so close to getting it.

Well then if it's not about the money, and PIT is really a contender...

Then the only other possible hang-up is Rodgers wants his own ping pong table

Rodgers has made plenty of money. If it was really about love of the game and maybe another ring, he clearly should have signed with MIN.

So I say again - is that really the guy you want at QB? A guy only motivated by money. Might be perfect for NHALS, but if you're going to put up with all his other baggage and bullshit you'd at least hope the guy actually WANTS to be here for reasons other than money.

Then he should should cross Pittsburgh off his list.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 81 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

I say don’t waste money on either one. Go with Rudolph.
You have to rebuild, the sooner the better.
They should have started it this year and gone full fire sale, and traded Watt, Fitzpatrick, Pickens, and not gave a huge contract to a WR with no QB.

I don’t understand why anyone would be against Rodgers signing with the Steelers.

Does anyone expect the Steelers to win the Super Bowl this year ??????

OF COURSE NOT!!!!

Does anyone expect the Steelers to win a playoff game this year????

GTFO HOW COULD YOU?!?!?!?!

Who would want to see this team struggle to make the playoffs ….AGAIN in a frustrating slog of a season where the team will likely win just enough to get some silly yinzer fanboys’ hopes up and maybe squeak into the playoffs, of course in the process preserve the ALMIGHTY NHALS and then subsequently get boat raced in the 1st quarter of the playoff game ????

Not me… not anymore…. FUCK THAT!!!!

Sign this asshole Rodgers!!!! Swing for the fences!!!

Fail spectacularly or maybe even succeed ( success is now defined by NHALS plus playoff win…let’s not too out of hand and ask for more than that.) It would likely be a 1 year contract so there’s no long term salary cap implications .. if it fails spectacularly, a top QB is in play for next years draft. While NHALS would have to be sacrificed, only if this fails spectacularly , its a risk I’m willing to take.

Tomlin knows fortune favors the bold

SOOOOOOO…..Go be interesting!!! Be compelling!!! Be entertaining !!! It’s better than 9-8 with another year without a playoff win.

If you are Rodgers do you risk being the scapegoat if NHALS comes to an end? That is a heavy burden and a huge blow to his legacy.

I'm thinking Rodgers is waiting until after the draft, to see how the Steelers shape up.

This could include, do they trade Pickens, do they draft a 1st Rd QB, or even an impact RB??

Anyway- while I really don't want Aaron Rodgers on the team, he does bring the greatest opportunity to really eff things up- and maybe get Tomlin canned.

cheers to the dream

If the Steelers don't sign Rodgers or Wilson before the draft, they aren't signing either of them.

They will do what many here believe and draft Milroe (I still say Dart will be the pick and the Steelers are playing possum) and the Steelers will roll with Mason until the kid is ready, very much like they did with Trubisky and Pickett.

All Tomlin cares about is the NHALS. Mason personally save the NHALS 2 years ago and Tomlin knows the Steelers can win with him. Win against Buffalo, KC and now probably Baltimore? No but Mason can win enough. If lets say Milroe is the pick and impresses in camp and in the preseason, then Mason can always be ready if the kid fails. Mason has saved a season before. He can do it again in Tomlin's eyes.

I seriously do not think Tomlin could be stupid enough to tie his wagon to the unpredictable conspiracy theorist, Aaron Rodgers, who has a platform to make Cool Shades look like an utter and complete imbecile.

Florio telling yinz to embrace Aaron Rodgers.

He'll win playoff gameS (GAMEs)

Ahhh Florio

Bored on a Monday.

I'll embrace Rodgers alright.

I'll embrace watching Rodgers shake his head in disgust after every Broderick and Fragile Fautanu sack.

I'll embrace Rodgers after he points at Pickens after running a sloppy route.

I'll embrace Rodgers when he appears on McAfee torching Tomlin after the season goes off the rails.

Playoff game(S)

Your ass is itchy too, Florio

Good chance Rodgers doesn't make it out of pre-season and our only glimpse of him on Sunday will be playing golf in Montana with Brady.

Still, I'm for it, if you can't be excellent be interesting.

It's not sports, it's reality tv.

But nothing would make me happier than Rodgers having a banner swansong year with 4500 yds, 40 TDs and 10 INTs and the Steelers still losing on defense.

I think this completely encapsulates my feelings. If the Steelers sign Rodgers , I will definitely go to a game this year (1st one since 2018 and 1st one as a non season ticket holder since 2007). I may even buy a Rodgers Jersey for shits and giggles ( and not one of those Asian knock off ones either like a former/ perhaps current esteemed poster used to buy  ). I figure it will be a collector’s item after this year.

The Steelers will be entertaining if he is the QB. At this point in the Tomlin era, it’s all I ask for at this point.

He sucked. Really sucked

Rodgers has been mailing it in for, at least, the last 6 seasons.

He doesn't stay within the structure of the offense. He gets bored and takes shots he shouldn't and generally dgaf

But f ever there was an offense for a QB to get hired in it’s ours.

That is going to be super fun given how rigid Jibbs and his lapdog Arty Smith run the O.

Believe me, I'm there.

Originally I hated the idea of signing AR, because like most fans, I want the team to win... but now, now I've seen the light.

Aaron Rodgers presents the best opportunity for this team to completely fucking implode- and however slight the chance might be, if it means Tomlin gets canned... well, I'm all for it.

Understanding that Art isn't going to fire Mikey the knob polisher, doesn't stop me from rooting for his star to be tarnished, at least a little bit, as result of the shit show Aaron Rodgers would bring.
