What I don't comprehend are all the fans who are getting worked up because Rodgers isn't in a rush to sign in the middle of fucking March. What he does shouldn't impact anything the Steelers do.

They apparently don't want Russell Wilson. Joe Flacco isn't going anywhere. Rodgers isn't a long term solution so he shouldn't impact their draft evaluation at all (he probably will, but only because this franchise is incredibly shortsighted and focused on the wrong things).

The talking heads do their thing and fans bark and clap like seals.

Unless he’s personally inviting Arthur Smith on a darkness retreat, an impending deal is the next most logical guess. If Rodgers wants to play for a contender next season, it doesn’t take much to realize the Steelers are the best option as things stand right now. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported after Dulac’s initial report that “no deal at this time is close,” while noting that Rodgers did meet with the coaching staff. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero also reports Rodgers is “seriously considering playing his 21st season in Pittsburgh.” With several reports flying around and nothing appearing guaranteed at this point, it goes without saying that this is a wait-and-see situation. As usual.

Rodgers has made plenty of money. If it was really about love of the game and maybe another ring, he clearly should have signed with MIN.

Fail spectacularly or maybe even succeed ( success is now defined by NHALS plus playoff win…let’s not too out of hand and ask for more than that.) It would likely be a 1 year contract so there’s no long term salary cap implications .. if it fails spectacularly, a top QB is in play for next years draft. While NHALS would have to be sacrificed, only if this fails spectacularly , its a risk I’m willing to take.

If the Steelers don't sign Rodgers or Wilson before the draft, they aren't signing either of them.

They will do what many here believe and draft Milroe (I still say Dart will be the pick and the Steelers are playing possum) and the Steelers will roll with Mason until the kid is ready, very much like they did with Trubisky and Pickett.

All Tomlin cares about is the NHALS. Mason personally save the NHALS 2 years ago and Tomlin knows the Steelers can win with him. Win against Buffalo, KC and now probably Baltimore? No but Mason can win enough. If lets say Milroe is the pick and impresses in camp and in the preseason, then Mason can always be ready if the kid fails. Mason has saved a season before. He can do it again in Tomlin's eyes.

I think this completely encapsulates my feelings. If the Steelers sign Rodgers , I will definitely go to a game this year (1st one since 2018 and 1st one as a non season ticket holder since 2007). I may even buy a Rodgers Jersey for shits and giggles ( and not one of those Asian knock off ones either like a former/ perhaps current esteemed poster used to buy ). I figure it will be a collector’s item after this year.

The Steelers will be entertaining if he is the QB. At this point in the Tomlin era, it’s all I ask for at this point.

Originally I hated the idea of signing AR, because like most fans, I want the team to win... but now, now I've seen the light.

Aaron Rodgers presents the best opportunity for this team to completely fucking implode- and however slight the chance might be, if it means Tomlin gets canned... well, I'm all for it.

Understanding that Art isn't going to fire Mikey the knob polisher, doesn't stop me from rooting for his star to be tarnished, at least a little bit, as result of the shit show Aaron Rodgers would bring.
