So, 12 picks total.
With Fields, he is a borderline 3rd or 4th round compensatory value. It depends on snap counts and reaching incentives. I think there’s a good chance if he starts most of the year that we get a 3rd rather than a fourth. Wilson also has the potential to get up to a third if he plays and wins (i.e. reaches incentives).
If you are rooting for anything more than a 4 or 5 win tank season next year you are a damned fool. This is the organizational reset and reboot we have needed for years. Hopefully that also involves a new head coach but I’m trying not to be that greedy this morning.

This reboot only works with a new HC.
If you don’t want to be that greedy, I’ll do it. I won’t root for this team to win until THE FRAUD is gone. I’ll throw in Scam Heyward and his baby brother too. Let’s start cleaning the mediocre mentality out of the locker room. If TJ can’t handle not playing for his hero, then he can go too. Start trading for draft picks.
Let’s pray for a massive team implosion and the death of NHALS in 2025.

Stockpiling picks meaningless without a new head coach and an organizational reset
No way in hell Tomlin and this current regime can be left to choose the next quarterback
And Speaking of draft picks
Way to leave on a high note Colbert
Steelers 2022 draft class
Kenny Pickett (QB)
George Pickens (WR)
DeMarvin Leal (DE),
Calvin Austin III (WR)
Connor Heyward (TE/FB)
Mark Robinson (LB)
Chris Oladokun (QB)

Exactly how I feel. Blow it up. Trade those dudes and start drafting young fast dudes like Chiefs did. Should've traded Jibba for multiple picksCoolShades wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 12:56 pmtbsteel wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 12:46 pm1st

At this point its 1984 and we're talking about who David Sterling will draft for the Clippers to compete with the Lakers and Celtics.

Quick search this morning for teams actively looking at QB as top need going into 2026 you might have guessed are:
“Cleveland Browns: They have been rumored to be in a position to trade up for a QB in the top 10, potentially drafting a player like Cade Klubnik.
New York Jets: They are currently starting a new head coach and have Justin Fields at QB, but may still be looking for a long-term franchise QB.
Los Angeles Rams: The Rams are another team that is actively pursuing a QB in the 2026 draft.
Carolina Panthers: They are another team that has been speculated to be drafting a QB in the top 10.
Indianapolis Colts: The Colts could also be a team looking to draft a QB.
Pittsburgh Steelers: They are another team that has been speculated to be drafting a QB in the top 10. “
This list as a starting point it looks bad for Pittsburgh simply because every team listed in front of them all had better draft positions this year.
Obviously, this factor makes drafting a QB problematic Absolutely.
If next season unfolds similarly the Steelers will have to spend premium draft capital to move into a favorable draft position.
Even with the projected comp picks, the extra 3rd from the Pickens trade it would be ugly IMO.
Not to mention there very well can be the dark horse team secretly looking to draft a QB that no one is talking about. Surprise!
The teams embrace to status quo for mediocrity does help but won’t make the difference in this case.
That said, I think [can’t believe I’m writing this] rooting for the “tank the season” is growing on me as a possible solution.
Obviously, it’s still very early and we have to be patient and wait until this season ends. Lot can happen hopefully favorably.

Looking like none of these ‘picks’ will become reality. Got what they paid for….“1st 2nd 3rd 3rd (Trade) 3rd (Compensatory for Dan Moore) 3rd or 4th (Compensatory for Fields) 4th 5th 5th (Compensatory for Wilson) 6th 6th (Compensatory for James Daniels) 7th **** So, 12 picks total. With Fields, he is a borderline 3rd or 4th round compensatory value.”
Harris never even got started on the season. Wilson got benched and now Fields is IR’d.
Looks like all those compensatory picks expected are now a figment of imagination.

With all due respect, you're dead ass wrong and 95% of the comp pick formula is just a #s game for contracts.
The Steelers will get a 3rd for Dan Moore.
For Fields, they'll get a 4th. There was a possibility of a 3rd as his contract value was right on the border of 3rd or 4th had he played most of the year and played well, but I don't think he hit any bonuses (not surprisingly lol).
For Russell Wilson, I suspect it'll be a 6th instead of a 5th rounder for the same playing time issues as Fields, but he's borderline. They'll get an additional 6th for either James Daniels or Donte Jackson.
Najee didn't count for the formula. His loss was cancelled out by Malik Harrison. We lost 7 players for the comp formula and signed 3 players that qualified for the comp formula = 4 picks we'll get (which is the max you can get in one season).
We'll have 12 picks next year barring trade(s).

Look up Nick Korte. He's basically a guru on this stuff and rarely misses.

They’re called ‘projected’ for a reason.

12 picks could really help turn the roster much younger, especially when paired with the last 3 draft classes that have lots of upside....
2023 Class
Broderick Jones - Work in progress, but showed improvement this year before injury
JPJ - Turning into an elite corner
Benton - Has been a solid starter
Mount Washington - Outlier, finally utilizing his talents
Herbig - Has been outstanding when on the field
Spencer Anderson - Solid contributor this year
2024 Class
Troy Fautanu - Has been excellent this year, which is basically his rookie year
Zack Frazier - Going to be starter at center for next 10 years probably
Roman Wilson - Jury definitely still out
Payton Wilson - Tackling machine, good cover backer, and good on teams
Mason McCormick - Been a solid starter all year
Logan Lee - MEH, but has been a rotational guy on the D-Line some
2025 Class
Harmon - Run defense giving up 100 less yards per game when he plays
Kaleb Johnson - Hard to get on the field when 30 and 14 have been balling
Jack Sawyer - Hasn't sucked when called upon, a offseason in the weight room, could turn into something
Yahya Black - Been pretty solid all year
Will Howard - Unknown
Carson Bruener - Been pretty good on teams
Donte Kent - I/R
If they can hit on 6-7 picks in the 2026 draft, this team will have a nice young nucleus, just need to find their next franchise QB, not sure if that guy will be available in the draft this year, might be wise to trade a couple of picks this year to get more ammo for 2027 draft.
Positions to upgrade:
QB1 - Most likely will either resign Rodgers for another year, or make a play for Cousins, Kyler, Malik Willis, Mac Jones, or something along these lines.
WR - prob need to draft 2 receivers, one in the first 2 rounds
LT - Not sure about Brod, Dillon Cook has looked really good
ILB - Could use a replacement for Queen after next year
S - Ramsey will probably be at safety next year, could see another safety added pretty high
Corner - Pierre has really come on, need to resign him, Echols has been okay in the slot, wouldn't mind drafting one in round 1 or 2

Dummy Dunce thinks the opposite. That his poor Jibba Jabber is a victim of not having a QB.No way in hell Tomlin and this current regime can be left to choose the next quarterback
Will bend over backwards to give Jibbs another.
Colbert either lost his touch, was mailing it in, or Jibba has far too much say in the draft.Way to leave on a high note Colbert
Steelers 2022 draft class
Kenny Pickett (QB)
George Pickens (WR)
DeMarvin Leal (DE),
Calvin Austin III (WR)
Connor Heyward (TE/FB)
Mark Robinson (LB)
Chris Oladokun (QB)
That’s beyond embarrassing
Likely a combo of all three.
The Fields comp pick is a 4th. I think the Wilson comp pick is a 5th but not sure.
5 picks in the top 100. Crappy QB class on the top end. Decent for IOL( and they need a OG)

Tankathon is pretty good at predicting the comps

right now they have them at a 3rd, 4th and 2x6th

I remember seeing the same note about Justin Fields earlier in the year, too.
Steelers are set to receive a 4th Rd compensatory pick for him signing with the Jets.
