Your new Steelers QB ....

Post by franco>madden » Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:31 pm

Aaron Rodgers has made his free-agency decision at last.

The 41-year-old has told the Steelers he’ll sign with the team before next week’s mandatory minicamp, NFL Network reported Thursday, ending a highly scrutinized and tedious interlude to determine where he wants to play in his 21st NFL season.

Can only imagine the stupid fucking grin Jibba Jabber has on his arrogant mug right about now.

Dumb cunt thinks he jiust landed his savior.

NHALS lives in. Puke.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 82 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

The fact that this board now has an off topic discussion of Egyptology and lost civilizations was clearly what put him over the top.

What week does he get career ending injury?

1st week of the season, there will be a blitz missed, and Tomlin will come running out frothing and screaming in Rodgers’ face…..THAT IS FOR SUPERBOWL 45 BYATCH!

My son the Packer fan shareholder contacted DW a few weeks ago and discreetly inquired about my shirt size. After a brief bit of thought I realized what he is up to. I fully expect to receive an XL Steelers jersey with Rodgers name on it in the coming days/weeks. Kids can be so F'n brutal. Bring on the train wreck and Go Bears!

well -- we are finally going to be able to put to bed the last of Tomlins excuses ... or, they win a playoff game

i say 75% chance this is a monumental shit show and 25% they get one playoff win and we have to listen to rooney, tomlin and the media pretend they are vindicated

the question now is --- will rodgers be banged into the round hole or will he get some say OR maybe he is happy- due to elderly limitations - in -playing quick release check down charlie and the flacco lob

Who's next? You know they are bringing in another vet pass catcher or 2.

Gabe Davis?
Trade for Jonnu?
Trade for Lazard? I think this is the most likely scenario.

I’m sure Charles is right.

The Steelers will go dumpster diving.

But, if you’re going to do something might as well do it right.

Trade for Scary Terry

By week 8 Vinny Testeverde will be on the phone with Mike.

I don't think Rodgers or Mason finishes the season.

I am excited for all of this!

The Steelers will be interesting and entertaining. If I can’t count on championships or even playoff wins, I would like to be entertained. This signing checks all the boxes, 8-)

And ain’t that the point? It’s just so long ago that I enjoyed watching my team play the game and even win championships.

tomlin and by extension rooney really believe that if they just have a QB that can execute the tomlin/smith playbook than they have a chance in the "tournament" -- execution and some luck ... thats their motto. This is based on two false beliefs -- that execution is all that matters on O (plays called is irrelevant) and that their D is high quality.

We are about to find out the validity of that -- and I believe it ill be proven wrong finally

Let's play pretend-

IF both QBs go down for the season by week 11+

AND

They are in the division lead or only behind by a game...

You know someone is going to call Ben, just to see... hey big guy... feel like making one last run??

This is a DeBergian move.

Can’t wait. The drama will be unstoppable. The schedule is designed for a redemption arc.

Which makes me wonder….is this sports entertainment.

Who cares! Bring it all on!!

Rodgers would rather lose a game than risk throwing an interception.

So he may be a better fit for Mikey than any of us wants to admit.

i was just thinking - this is why tomlin wants him so badly
rodgers doesn’t want to throw INTs and will avoid sacks like the plague. ball out immediately - dump off or sideline lob

and maybe we will all eat crow … i really doubt it. we have watched this Show too long. but if we do we still kind of win

Steve DeBerg or Marty DeBergi, the fake director of Spinal Tap?

There's a fine line between stupid and clever and this signing may be it.

Aarp…n Rodger better hope the play of Steelers left tackle doesn’t put him into early retirement.

If the line holds up he can still deliver the ball. He did like play action with Green Bay. Maybe he can manage Smith’s offense.

While that may be true, Rogers is going to want to air it our more than Tomlin and Smith's gameplan. He may not like INTs but he WILL want to score more than 17 points and game.

We all saw what happened when Wilson threw for 400+ yards against the Bungles.... the staff majorly pulled in the reins and the only time they went over points in the remaining 5 games was the revenge game against the Browns and even in that one Wilson only threw for 158 yards.

Does anyone think Rogers will quietly handle off the ball over and over again and rarely even get to 200 yards without complaining?

His signing played out pretty much like I thought it would.

He's certainly not in his prime, but I still think he's the best QB we've had since Ben.

It will be interesting to see what they pay him ($10mm like he said), and how many of his "boys" they pick up. Lazard, Cobb?

I hope Tomlin (big hope) lets him run the O he's most comfortable with—it's going to get ugly if not.

Got my popcorn...
