Thank Christ.
I liked his attitude and effort, but his production was limited. Mostly due to Art smith thinking he could somehow be a featured piece of this offense.
Someone on this site pointed out that if Patterson was in the game, there was about a 75% chance he'd get the ball. Easy pickins for any defense to pick up on.

Good, good. Obvious reasons. Next release/cut - Conor Heyward?
He's a good ST's player. I wouldn't cut him.CzechSteeler wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 5:44 pmGood, good. Obvious reasons. Next release/cut - Conor Heyward?

If you're talking Heyward, I'd be surprised if they kept 4 TE's and the top 3 (which doesn't include Heyward) seem set.Deebo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 5:58 pmHe's a good ST's player. Patterson at one time was an elite returner, but those days look to be far behind him. For most of last season though, I thought he looked like a better RB than Najee Harris.
If we have an injury at RB, I wouldn't be surprised to see Patterson back in the fold.

DJ Thomas-Jones' "more serious" injury may keep Heyward on the roster. He was competition for the FB/TE/H-back slot. JJ Galbreath has been impressive at TE, though, from what I've read, so maybe not.CzechSteeler wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 5:44 pmGood, good. Obvious reasons. Next release/cut - Conor Heyward?
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
I think we see at least 1 more year of Heyward...remember this isn't about production, it's a "feel good story" about playing with siblings.K_C_ wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 6:09 pmIf you're talking Heyward, I'd be surprised if they kept 4 TE's and the top 3 (which doesn't include Heyward) seem set.Deebo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 5:58 pmHe's a good ST's player. I just don't see Heyward not making the team, but probably next year they cut him.
I know they likely WOULD bring CPatt back if there are injuries. SHOULD they? Absolutely not. Lots of dudes on other practice squads who can do things just as good and more explosively.

Surprised Tomlin doesn't give LeBron and Bronny a tryout at TE. Feel good bro story and all that.
The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.

I would include that in my snap count threads.
It was about 40% of the time he was in....he got the ball.

32 carries, 12 catches on 14 targets.
46 touches and targets.
110 snaps.

Madness.
We are masters of telling the defense what we are going to do.
If an everyday guy like me sees it.....
What do guys that get paid millions see when they are watching hours and hours of tape....
and have assistants who do the same.
interns who do the same.....and are looking for those trends to show their worth to the team

Bronny turns 21 in October and knows how to catch a ball (different, though). Food for thought:-)Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 7:00 pmSurprised Tomlin doesn't give LeBron and Bronny a tryout at TE. Feel good bro story and all that.

Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.
Couldn't find another RB out of the thousands that are out there, but bring in Patterson.
Well, I guess he's gone now and now onto more poor and bizarre personnel decisions.

He looked better than Najee most of the time, so I'm not a fan of this move.

Yeah, but reports out of camp is the offense doesn't know what it's doing. So we could be COMPLETELY unpredictable this year!
Arthur Smith is a mad scientist! No one will know what's coming, not even our guys!

At least they don't make it obvious when running on first down, nor run much after a long completion or big 3rd down conversion.
