George Pickens Making The Steelers Look Like Tomlin Coached Steelers

Post by LakecrestSteeler » Sun Sep 14, 2025 8:42 pm

Was a mistake to get rid of him. He was not the problem!

They had AB PTSD. Waaaahhhh! Get over it and recognize generational talent and deal with it!

Nice week for Pickens after an invisible week one.

God knows he has talent but it's a long season.

We'll see if Dallas wants to pay him 30+ million per after this year.

We could let him walk but tell me those two would not been good for the Steelers. We have one Wr period

Preach on!

And another thing, getting rid of JuJu SS was a big mistake too, knowing what we know now.

And letting James Conner go was a gaffe too.

Wait what??? Teams aren’t actually scared of CAIII or Roman Wilson?

Both ok WR 3, 4, or 5.

Both miscast as a #2.

Jibbs has never known how to properly build a roster.

Steelers prob wouldn't have paid him either. Still will prob ball out though in this, his contact year....much as Santonio Holmes did in '10.

Well, he's not the offensive juggernaut Roman Wilson is.

I loved Pickens in Pittsburgh and wanted badly for him to work out. He has superstar talent, but he's played for the Cowboys in 2 games.

2 games. They got very, very lucky today against a very bad Giants team.

I'll never question George Pickens' immense talent, just like I'd never question AB's immense talent, but Pickens wasn't getting paid in Pittsburgh and nor should he have been paid.

The craziness on the sidelines was bad. The moronic penalties and his inability to keep his temper under control was a major problem and his lack of effort on plays where George wasn't going to see the ball or on running plays was the deal breaker.

You know this as well as I do.

Let's see if Dallas pays Pickens when this season is over.

He's a ticking time bomb.

Whether or not Dallas pays him is I think irrelevant to the prudence in the Steelers trading him. A guy entering his contract year, where one might expect maximum effort from him. Compare him to the Steelers wides after DK. I was fuckin excited thinking about the DK/Pickens tandem....but no, trade this mega talent instead

Nobody believes the Steelers are doing anything special this year, Swiss. Nobody. With Pickens or without him, the Steelers aren’t contenders. Also even though today wasn’t Calvin Austin’s finest hour and people are quick to pile on him, CAIII’s a damn good receiver. He played excellent football in the Jets win.

The Steelers are picking a QB in the first round next April and they need that 3rd rounder more than they need George Pickens. He wasn’t going to see a second contract and before this season is over, Pickens will show his true colors in Dallas. The guy’s an idiot.

I’m much more concerned about the o-line and depth behind Jaylen Warren than I am this WR group.

The biggest problem the Steelers better fix is the run defense. 2 straight games giving up over 30 points.

Pickens being on this roster and showing up when he feels like it isn’t moving the needle on this squad but with panic probably settling in for Tomlin’s NHALS, don’t be surprised if they trade for Tyreek Hill to help ensure Cool Shades’ streak continues.

How many players on the Steelers roster under 25 would you consider franchise building players for the future? I struggle to find any. Maybe Zach Frazier. Possibly Porter Jr, but he’s got a lot to prove. That’s about it. Since Ben retired they’ve done everything possible to tread water when they should have been tearing down and building back up for the future.

Get rid of all these overaged veteran defenders and suck out loud for a year or two. It’s the only hope to get out of football purgatory. And as always, nothing else matters until Mike Tomlin is gone.

If they were forward thinking they would have traded Watt, and Heyward.

With the NHALS on the line, they aren’t rebuilding. Like I said earlier, they’ll panic and add Tyreek Hill, probably for a 4th rounder.
