Sad news. I’ve gotten to know him pretty well over the years, he was one of the good ones.

I had a few email exchanges with him back in the day. We'd had a disagreement and I wrote to apologize for my somewhat overheated reaction to something he'd written. He was very gracious and understood sports can lead to strong opinions.
RIP...Pittsburgh has lost a lot of iconic journalists the last little while..Tunch and Wolf included.

Watching this team deteriorate under Jibbs these past several years couldn’t have helped.
Might end up being the death of us all.

Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 81 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

I was thinking of Stan Savran, too. That’s a loss of so much talent and institutional knowledge in just 2 years time.shellwagnerblount wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 5:43 pmMan,,,he was too young to go..Steelperch wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 5:07 pmhttps://www.steelers.com/news/contribut ... -lolley-56

Dang, same age. RIP. Hate not knowing what death is, it's the finality and uncertainty. It is inescapable, of course.
He dipped snuff?
Glad I quit many years ago. US Tobacco must have had western PA as their top market.
I remember when the Maulers came to town, we were flooded with all kinds of chew. Had some coach's kids in our HS.

“We’ve got to write that story. We’ve got enough talent, we’ve got enough schematics to do big, big things. When I say big things, I’m talking about historic things.”
RIP Dale. Sorry for the loss of your friend, Perch.
