4th & 1 Punt

Post by Works At A Bank » Mon Sep 15, 2025 1:28 pm

At midfield when the game was tied. Why does a man that claims to never live in his fears is constantly coaching like he’s terrified? The excuse was that he didn’t want to give his banged up defense a short field. The better option would have been to take a chance and get the 1st so they could rest more. No matter where the Seahawks got the ball that defense is straight trash. Might as well roll the dice on the QB you waited for 4 months to get….

Apparently, none of those 2-point plays they practice every day can be used on 4th and 1 at midfield.

Jibba will NEVER learn or improve. He is what he is.

His thought process is always ass backwards and he does nothing but live in his fears.

He is making this team unwatchable.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 81 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

I was glad they punted because unlike good teams like the Eagles, they have absolutely no feel, play calling or execution at converting short yardage situations. Their 20 yard sideline bomb would’ve been incomplete or their RB plunge into the line would’ve been stuffed short.

Ding ding ding...keeping your offense on the field and scoring more points protects the defense, punting puts your sieve of a defense on the field.

I get they won't run a QB sneak with 42 year old Rodgers, but I'm sure someone like Connor Heyward or Jonnu Smith could take a snap from center and sneak it, I've seen several pro and college teams employing this strategy more and more...

That's just what they'll be expecting us to do.

This is even worse given that Rodgers is a master at the hard count

Once upon a time Aaron Rodgers was unstoppable throwing back shoulder fades. As he gets acclimated to the offense, perhaps he and Freiermuth / Jonnu Smith can develop a money play to use on fourth and short plays.

Early in the season, Pittsburgh will always trust the defense, even if it's missing some key guys. As the season wears on though, and everyone on offense settles in, Rodgers may get some leash to exercise a bit of vet savvy in spaces like 4th and short.

Your asking that question from a man who chose to where black shirts on a day when on field temperatures approached 100 degrees and wearing black can cause a temperature increase of 27 degrees F compared to white shirt; at least according to AI. And while black can absorb body heat better than white, remember the pads prevent that benefit!

But true.

Honestly, dead ass, punting is one of the best thing this team does. We typically don't have any issues with our snaps for punts, do a pretty good job of blocking it up, and while our punters haven't been the greatest over the past few years, it has been solid and a lot better last year and so far this year. Maybe it's all the practice they get but by god they've got that shits on lockdown.

Put Washington about 3 to 5 feet away from the tackle have him take 2 steps forward and turn toward the QB. 1st down or DPI every time.

You can't coach 6'7" and 305 with a vertical.

He is basically Eric Green.
