Week 4

Post by jebrick » Sun Sep 21, 2025 12:54 pm

Mendoza has arrived. Goes into the top 5 if not top 3 for QBs in this draft. Has some issues with his deep balls but nice accuracy. Illinois lost their very good safety in the 2nd quarter (targeting) and that might have led to a run up of points but still.

IU's defense is for real or Illinois was not as good as advertised.

Klubnik has almost become a DND. How long can Sweeny hold on to his job looking like that.

I was less impressed with Mateer.

*John Mateer has the “IT” factor. Swagger on a stick, but everything is a fastball. Gotta work on touch.

* Que pasa, Dabo?

* “Bold men make bold statesments”- Massive Genius. Cam Coleman is the best WR in college football. Better than Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams. Yep I said it.

* Auburn Coach Hugh Freeze hit the hooker hotline hard last night. Oklahoma defense set a school record sacking crappy ass Jackson Arnold ten times. Would take 100 sacks playing behind the Steelers dogshit OL. Kid takes an hour to make a decision back there.

*”Lighten up, Francis.” Sean McDonough is one salty little fella. Get out of the bitter barn and play in the hay!

*I agree with Jebrick. Manny Mendoza gotta be on your QB radar especially now that this much ballyhooed class of qbs is failing to live up to their lofty billing. It’s still early though.

*Looks like Texas Tech bought themselves a playoff team.

*I couldn’t watch B2B’s guy Taylen Green because JOE TESSATORE. STFU! STFU!!!

* The UAB scrub who intentionally stepped on the foot of the Vols’ kicker needs an ass-whoopin. Punk move. Trent Dilfer? Pffft

*Buford High School’s own Justice Haynes (Veron’s son) has holy shit speed. Billionaire Biff no doubt paid him a shit-ton to bolt Bama for scUM.

*Buford High School’s own Dylan Raiola is suffering an identity crisis. I think this kid really THINKS he’s Pat Mahomes. Stop with the flex ya half a meatball.

*Is the end of the world upon us? Holy weather delays. WTF is with all the lightning and Africa hot temps? It’s the freaking 3rd week of September! Do I not get a fall anymore?!

* Ouch Bill Belichick. Very ouch.

*Cowher Power. My once beloved Steelers need a giant infusion of toughness and pride. New Canes’ DC Corey Hetherman has brought intensity and an aggressive, attacking defense to Coral Gables. That dude can coach on my team anytime.

*Rueben Bain is HIM. Proud carrier of the Bad MotherFucker Wallet. Relentless and some serious Peter Boulware bend. The Steelers will no doubt draft a qb but Bain is at the top of my wish list.

* Michael Irvin might be my favorite non Steeler player ever. Dude was a baller. More programs need dedicated alum like him willing their schools to victory.

*ABC has to do better than Chris Fowler. Maybe they can use AI to bring back Keith Jackson.

*Another proud carrier of the Bad MotherFucker wallet is Mizzou RB Ahmad Hardy. Tackle breaking machine.

* Did the black Mike Gottfried keep the right qb? Penn St transfer Beau Pribula a fun dual threat QB for upstart Mizzou.

*Cocks coach Shane Beamer seems like a nice enough fella, but taking over his alma mater and his daddy’s Hokies over in the ACC might be more his speed.

*South Carolina OL sucks..,well…you know. LaNorris Sellers will feel right at home playing behind the Steelers’ dogshit OL. You SUCK, Meyer!

* Rich Rod? Really?? I miss WVU and Pitt being relevant.

* Hell no I don’t watch Washington football, but WR Denzel Boston is a human highlight reel.

*At 6’6 220, USC LB Eric Gentry is a unique chess piece for the Trojans, but damn that kid needs to eat a sandwich.

*Stayed up past my bedtime to watch Aidan Chiles vs USC, but I was out cold 30 minutes in. Don’t get old, kids.

*Boulder, Colorado is a picturesque setting to play a football game. Too bad the Buffs are once again irrelevant.

*Too many top ten schools on a week 4 (WEEK 4?!) bye and too many Texas vs Sam Houston State games. I love college football but man it’s a fucked up, flawed product.

I have people telling me to watch Mensah ( Duke) for a QB. If anyone else does, pay attention to DE Vincent Anthony on Duke.

@Steeldrama Arkansas vs Notre Dame this Saturday at Noon-- happy to say you will avoid Jac Collinsworth, one of the worst on-air football announcers in my lifetime-- which as old as I am is saying something.

Having a balls-out, half-crazed defensive coach is great. having him as your frothing spittle DC with autonomy with an offensive-minded, aggressive HC is what you really want though.

Yes Jac is awful
Glad I can watch your guy Green in his absence

Joe Tessatore screaming like it’s the immaculate reception on your average 4 yard gain makes my ears bleed

Someone with a working brain needs to fire that guy

Plus side of pro wrestling on BSPN, maybe they move Tessatore over there full time.

Perfect

Move him anywhere

Just keep him and his incessant yelling far away from my sacred Saturdays

Now if only someone of power could move either the Georgia/Bama game or the Oregon/Penn st game to a different time slot

Hate split screens so am going to sprain a thumb switching between those two games

Go Ducks!
Go Dawgs!!
Roll Tide!!!

Hmm. Was going to use that as my excuse to try out the Comcast split screen. Might have to go old school and risk the carpal tunnel.

I'll go on record as the resident Hoosier here, Mendoza is that good. Did it help that the Illini didn't play without their best CB and lost a safety in the game? Sure, but that team crumbled under the pressure. Mendoza continues to keep getting better week by week, and is now the frontrunner for the Heisman according to Vegas oddsmakers. If not for a busted coverage, Illinois might not put any points up at all. And another thing, Illinois was very overrated. Their OL played like shit and Altmeyer is the most overrated QB in the Big Ten. If you couldn't tell, really tired of people not giving Cignetti and the Hoosiers their due respect.
