14 games to go. 7-7 = NHALS

Post by Stosh-67 » Tue Sep 23, 2025 5:29 am

At 2-1 with 14 games left. Mike Tomlin needs to lead this team to a 7-7 record the rest of the way to continue his streak of never having a losing season.

But may not.

Interesting when you push those 3 words together.

But may not be that easy getting to a 7-7 record out of the last 14 games.

Browns 2x
Bengals 2x with no Burrow.
Ravens twice.
Can they go 4-0 vs the B and B boys of Ohio. Can they go 4 dead vs oh hi oh ? Highly unlikely.
3-1 is a must.
Splitting Ravens is a must.
4-2 in those divison games is a must...
3-3 and it's deep shit.
None of his assistants will get jobs.

And may not be enough when you look at the 8 non division games below.

@ Lions
H vs. Packers
Ireland vs. Vikings
@ Charges
H vs. Bills
H vs. Colts
H vs Dolphins.
@ Bears

They may only be favored in 2 games. Dolphins and tight spread vs Indy with book makers maybe giving the home team the nod.

Can they win 3 of those 8 games?

7-7 in final 14 will be tuff.

It depends on their schematics.

When Coach T had Ben to hide behind and show off, he wasn't expected to have all the answers.

Now that he does, it's a shitshow and he resorts to spewing bullshit and yelling a lot.

Rodgers keeping it together will be interesting the longer he's willing to play. He must see the Disney World Mickey Mouse shit for what it is.

The last train to NHALS is departing.

I think they split with the Browns and Bengals. Garrett kills Arod so Rodolph will be your starter week 6 on.
The colts is not an easy game. Taylor will run up the score.
The Vikings are going to kill the Steelers this Sunday because the steelers will be still getting over jet lag.

They should be Miami which means it will be a nail biter. They should beat the Bears so the same.

I see at least 4 more wins in the schedule.

I think Cleveland is going to be a tough matchup for them. CIN might be a better team, but CLE is a worse matchup.

The Steelers ALWAYS win some games they shouldn't win (like last year beating the Commanders on that Mike Williams bomb from Russ) and lose games they should win. The were lucky to beat the Broncos and Chargers and probably should have beat both the Cowboys and Colts.

All these Steelers losses to good teams you have in the books? Think again.

Tomlin will find a way to pull a few of those out, especially with Rodgers at QB.

I think they finish 10-7.

I have a feeling they end up beating the Packers. The NFL script writers will make it so.

Being generally more optimistic than the majority of you ye of little faith asshats, this is where I am as well. Few items of note, my opinion.

-Steelers have found their #2 wide, and his name is Calvin Austin. What they DONT have is a #3 wide, as most often running multiple tight end sets, which may be OK.

-I'm getting more confident in the defense, not necessarily because of their results, but they seem to have the personnel in the secondary, good that Cole Holcomb is getting more snaps and liking the additions to the d-line.

And yeah, as dumb a fuck as Tomlin is, he seems to win close games.

Anyway, 10-7, playoff spot....maybe even a playoff win.

that is a tough out of division schedule -- and although 2-1 they just struggled with some of the easier matches

@ Lions
H vs. Packers
Ireland vs. Vikings
@ Charges
H vs. Bills
H vs. Colts
H vs Dolphins.
@ Bears

NFC North is a tough draw and I see 1-3 coming against NFCN-- and will lose to Bills and Chargers and Colts is also tough draw.
Not wishful thinking - I think NHALS is very much at risk
assuming wins for Dolphins
IMO to get to 9-8 they need to manage wins versus the Colts and Vikings and if they split that or lose both they are going to need to be
4-2 or 5-1 vs browns, bengals and ravens .. which can be possible if ravens dont care the last game
My guess is they get 3-3 in division ... so assuming they beat bears and dolphins and lose to lions, bills, chargers and packers
they have to beat have to beat colts and steal one from packers or vikings to get to 9-8
Big game this weekend IMO for NHALS ... I will simplify all my rambling above and below -- if they manage a win this weekend they will get NHALS if they do not they wont. I think they are in for it this weekend against a superior team.

based on just which team is better and steelers performance to date - -I see a record of 7-10 but they will certainly steal one from someone .. so going with 8-9
If rodgers gets hurt they are done

4-2 in the division and 3-5 outside gives us that magic number of 9!

And then maybe A-Ron goes rogue and we actually score in Q1 of a playoff game....

Bullshit on going rogue…Tomlin’s gameplan gives us the best chance in the playoffs.

A A Ron doesn’t fully comprehend the Steeler way yet….he’ll come around.

Can't imagine the reaction Yinzers will get when they puff their chest out to other fans bragging about holding the record for most consecutive non-losing seasons

NHALS....the mother of all participation trophies (because you can't lose if you don't keep score!)

There is no way this team doesn’t win 9 games.

How many MORE times do you guys need to see this movie before you finally realize what the ending is going to be ????

Incredibly, ELO now projects the Steelers to win 8.6 games, almost the definition of NHALS:

If the NFL ever starts awarding partial ties 8.6W & 8.4L could be a real possibility!

Just keep an eye out for suspicious penalties coming at strategic times that help out NHALS.

Phantom holds etc. There was one in the Ravens game, a low block that wasn't, it came at a great time to help Lamar.

Hardly the elephant in the room, Deebo...gets plenty of airtime both on this esteemed website and in the national media. I just hate all the talk, predictions and analysis of whether Steelers can finish 9-8. Would much rather talk about whether they can extend their season into January. Maybe just me...and DownSouth. Hell yea I'm with you.
But unfortunately Tomlin has made me more of a realist over the past 10+ years. With Cowher I ALWAYS thought they had a chance to pull off the upset. SB 30 being the best example. I thought they had a puncher's chance and it was true.

With Tomlin, I always expect them to LOSE. It eats your energy away for sure
