Door Slammers Browns game

Post by Steelperch » Sun Oct 12, 2025 8:57 pm

Nick Herbig - has rapidly become the teams most effective pass rusher since midseason last year. Two sacks and a few pressures today. Hustles every snap.

Darnell Washington - this guy has become not only our top TE but the identify of the entire offense. He’s a unique player in the league with the size and blocking of a tackle and adds in being a competent receiver with size nobody can match. 3 catches for 63 yards and excellent blocking again today

Patrick Queen - looks like a completely different t player lately. He’s playing fast and physical. Setting the tone in the run game. I think the improved front line play is helping him a lot

Jalen Ramsey - two sacks on blitzes and another solid outing on the back end. He adds a lot to this defense when healthy.

Derrick Harmon - best rookie DE we’ve had in a long time. The difference in the run defense early season vs now is mostly the play of Harmon.

Honorable mention to DeShon Elliot & Jaylen Warren

Special GOAT move of the year to….

Patrick Kraft - Athletic Director at Penn state slammed the door for good on mediocre James Franklin.

If Kraft can wrest Cignetti out of Bloomington, he will achieve god status.

Patrick Q had himself a game

Side-note: Devin Bush was their leading tackler

Also no love for Broderick Jones today?

Re-watching the game and when Broderick was 1-on-1 with Garrett, Broderick held his own.

Garrett made absolute no impact on today's game.

Zero.

Agree. Jones did well run blocking too. Also better shotgun snaps from Frazier today.

I agree Kudos to Helbig the kid brought all kinds of pressure today. Warren ran hard and has again some nice blocks. the steelers OL gave some nice holes to run through versus a good Browns defense .Yes Jones does deserve credit for what he did today. I was impressed with Queen Play today.Washington really has a breakout game today also.

Yeah the best news of the day was Brod Jones who is a real LT.

I'd like to see the tape on why WR2s not thrown to.

Muth is officially tradable at this point.

Maybe Penn State will overpay Muth to coach.

Maybe trade him to the Bears for DJ Moore in a swap of big contract players who don't fit on their current teams?

I'm happy for Darnell. I just think he could be even better if he lost more weight. He doesn't need to be 300. He could easily be 280 and still be a fine blocking TE with more wiggle and route running ability.

Queen, Harmon, Ramsey and Herbig make this defense so much better.

We know what Watt and Heyward can do. All of a sudden the defense looks deep and fast.

He was 305 last year he is about 320 now

They mentioned transforming him to a Tackle on the TV broadcast.

Like what they did with Big Al.

Again, so many people knock Watt for not criticizing Tomlin or continuing to play for the Steelers. I mean, yea it's from Steelers fans, but...

Garrett is such a sack of shit that he demanded a trade just to get grossly overpaid (every other pass rusher thanks him, of course) for what he actually contributes.

Then after the game today he has the audacity to say, when asked what's it like watching the Steelers pass rushers get to tee-off with a lead, that "It must be nice."

Garrett could have gone to just about any team in the league, but chased the money instead. And then tried to tell Browns fans its OK because the FO he said he had lost faith in told him they had a plan at QB now.

Herbig leads the team in sacks ( 4.5 ) and QB hits ( 12 ) and tackles for loss ( 6 )
while playing in only 4 of the 5 and with only 2 starts.
And tied for team lead with the 1 INT.
2 passes defended and 1 forced fumble.

228 snaps vs TJ's 287

Love his energy.

His quick burst around edge certainly set up that one beautiful move to the inside on his sack.
Anyone watching tape has to be seeing his outside speed move,
and then he hits home with that inside move yesterday.

Yikes.

It's absurd, not that I'm the only one to notice as much. There should really be no actual competition between Garrett and Watt because Watt has so clearly out produced Garrett throughout their respective careers in everything that actually matters. There's not a single criticism someone could level at Watt of late that isn't doubly true for Garrett. And the league just hands that asshole DPOY as some sort of lifetime achievement award.

Broderick played a very sloppy game and had some horrendous reps. Garrett beat him with an inside counter as bad as you can beat an OL, rushed a throw by getting right to AR's facemask as he threw.

Garrett didn't have splash plays but it's also true they moved him around a lot and he probably had more pass rush reps vs Semualo than Jones because his response to seeing an impending chip was to stunt inside.

I stand corrected but at times, I actually think the help Jones had confused him some. Almost like if Garrett went outside, Jones thought Anderson had him and when Garrett went inside, Jones didn’t react quick enough.

I hate to see Jones hesitate so much. Jones plays with so little confidence but Rodgers praised him in the press conference yesterday and said he believes in Broderick. Rodgers said sometimes he has to kick Jones in the ass in practice to get him going but he loves Broderick’s demeanor and positivity.

Kid has to keep working until he figures it out. Garrett is going to do that to a lot of players.

Remember what he did to Dan Moore last year and didn’t Moore get 80 million in free agency?
