Does Omar add a significant WR2 before trade deadline?

I mean, it could be Jibba’s version of Cowher coming out passing against Indy in 2005.

Imagine Jibbs survives the wildcard round by the hair of his chinny chin chin. We go into the divisional round facing a high powered offense.

Instead of easing in, doin what we do, run run pass punt we come out slinging.

Arty Smith has us in heavy two TE set with Darnell & Anderson.

Rogers comes out slinging darts to WR #2 while the defense can’t figure out if they are stopping the run or stopping Metcalf.

Steelers are vaulted to the AFCCG.

Jibbs needs to have this moment before he can be Tomlin again.

Otherwise, fuck off.

Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 81 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

All these comments about no targets for WR2

Don’t you realize we’ve been groomed to feel this way?

Call me naive or crazy, but adding a serious #2 makes this offense ridiculously hard to defend.

Do you think they wouldn’t change what they’re doing if they landed an elite talent?

If the answer to that is they wouldn’t, then yes, I agree it’s stupid to bring in an upgrade.

But again, I’d think they’d change their strategy to compliment their talent.
Didn’t they trade for Mike Williams last year?

They then rarely put him on the field.

They love having willing blockers like Skowronek, Wilson, Miller
and yes, little Calvin Austin as their #2 receivers. All of them are fighters and aren’t going to bitch about getting a combined 3 targets per game.

You bring in an Olave, Waddle or AJ Brown type player, those dudes are gonna want 8-10 targets per game.

In this offense? I mean you’re kidding, right?

If they add anyone it’s gonna be Lazard and only because Rodgers is comfortable with him.

If they brought in a high level dude like Waddle, Brown or Olave, those dudes would get maybe 3 targets per game, and theyd be insurance against a DK Metcalf injury.

The Steelers don’t care about the #2 WR position. It isn’t prioritized in this offense.

And one of the extremely rare occasions they did he scored a game winning TD.

Then they couldn’t find a place for him. In our anemic offense.

Moving trains and all.

Not winning a SB with one too.

This offense is better than we’ve had in years but they still aren’t going to score enough points come playoff time because the philosophy is about ball control, run to pass, short passes and rarely going downfield with the ball.

That’s how this team is built, especially with a 42 year old QB and both tackles playing their positions for the first time. They open this offense up and Rodgers likely dies.

Williams scored the game winner in his first game as a Steeler.

Barely even knew any of the playbook (I could be mistaken but I believe Russ had to tell Williams just run a go route and the ball would be there for him.)

Once Williams learned the entire playbook, he was frozen out of the offense. They preferred to have Calvin Austin on the field and that's going to continue when CAIII is back (has he been IR'd? I didn't think so.)

Like I said before, there is absolutely zero point in trading for a high level WR when Arthur Smith prefers to have 7 TE's on the field at the same time with DK Metcalf.

Hard to make it to your second progression when the ball is coming out in 2 seconds damn near every time, I still think the biggest issue is the coaches still don't trust 77 to shut down his rusher and right now they are basically trying not to get Aaron killed before the end of the season, sure 77 has been a little better, but that's mainly because of the Steelers plan to give him help and to get the ball out quick.

WR2 not getting targets because WR2 is never open.

Can they get Wilson or Olave with a Santonio/Antonio type of deal?
We have a winner
Wait what??? I heard Wilson has a “knack for getting open” while another poster claimed Wilson had “the best hands since AB”.

Jamarcus Russell was a pretty good college QB too.
The more press about Roman Wilson's excellent hands, the better.

Pittsburgh is bludgeoning opponents right now, going tight-end heavy and even utilizing an additional lineman on occasion. Wilson has to be ready when called upon. Quality of performance is crucial for players who see limited volume.

They need to stop playing musical chairs at the position.

He’s a 3rd round pick that’s now healthy and we have an injury at the position.

How bout letting the guy you burned a high pick on get some playing time? Like derrr…

Especially after missing rookie year to injury.

Oh wait, gotta get Scotty Miller his reps too.

Sorry if Wilson was a real option he would have been steeping in for Austin and a reason Omar is working the phones

We’ll see how hard Omar is trying to add a WR2.

If you’re lucky, the big addition is going to be Lazard.

Watch.

I think if they make a move it be between Thurs and Sunday to add that Wide Rec. Yes KC it might be Lazard but maybe it someone higher.

I don’t see how it make's football sense to trade away draft capital for an under utilized position.

Really is a bit concerning, that Roman Wilson still can’t find a niche and get on the field more. I’ve seen more of Scotty Miller.

I think it was Benz in one of the Q & A articles was saying that Brown was slow to get on the field more, as well as other Steeler WR’s from past rosters and that Wilson is going thru the usual transitions the others have. Hmmm…..

How long did it take Calvin Austin III to get on the field again?

CAIIII missed his entire rookie season just like Roman Wilson, but got more snaps his second year than Roman is getting.

I don’t think bringing in Chris Olave is going to prevent some elite QB’s from carving up our defense.

Yep.

Muth (who was incredible) was our de facto WR2 for much of the game.

We use a shit ton of personnel on offense, mainly heavy packages.

Tomlin and Smith don’t want to play like the Bengals with 2 high flying WR’s.
