Even worse. The idiot's takeaway from that game was "offense was too risk seeking." This despite the offense not giving the Bengals any short fields. The offense put up a lot of points without any TOs from the Bengals. Fuck Tomlin.
And with this, it's the offenses fault for scoring too fast, not using enough clock and failing to control the ball. To "protect the defense" I could easily see him going back to ultra conservative Tomlin turtle ball.
i have predicted thats exactly what is going to happen this weekend
run, run, lob
WR screen, run, run
run, slant, run

Something is seriously wrong when you have to “protect” the league’s highest paid (by far) defense.
Fuck Jibbs and his bullshit.
I REALLY hope his fraudulent defense shits the bed for a second week in a row on national TV.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 81 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

I don't think Tomlin has ever really understood "complementary football". Their offense is moving the ball and scoring points. The defense lives and dies off turnovers and sacks. The obvious choice there is to turn that defense loose and be aggressive to generate MORE splash plays. A supposedly historic defense doesn't need protected by the offense. They should be trying to jump on teams and then pin their ears back on defense.
But he never did that with Ben and the Killer Bs, so no reason to expect him to have an epiphany now.

How many years in the league for Coach?
19?
“We’ve got to write that story. We’ve got enough talent, we’ve got enough schematics to do big, big things. When I say big things, I’m talking about historic things.”

Some people would have 19 years of experience. Jibbs has 1 year of experience that he’s repeated 18 other times.
While that formula worked amazing for AC/DC, it hasn’t for Jibba Jabber.
And I’d even argue he is MUCH worse of a coach now than when he started. This fucking cunt has regressed like I’ve never seen before.
And in case anyone doesn’t get the AC/DC reference. Angus Young was asked years ago something along the lines of why their albums are so similar. He said something to the effect they didn’t try to make 13 different albums but rather to make 1 great album 13 times.

Tomlin has never shown an ability, much less a desire, to be aggressive and innovative on the offensive side. It's not in his "comfort zone", which is basically admitting he's stubborn and lazy.
His ceiling was never more than a decent DC. Never had the overall football IQ to be a good HC.

And that isn't even his biggest fault.
His biggest fault is that he is arrogant and despite not having a clue how to run an NFL offense still pigeonholes his (lame) OC's into running his dated and ineffective form of offense.
Jibbs would be a much better coach if he simply did what Cowher did. And that was higher quality coaches and allow them to do their job.
Jibbs hires yes man below par jags he can dominate and control.

Maybe. But his offensive ineptitude can't possibly allow him to prepare his defense for what he can't even conceive of, much less anticipate.
Probably a huge factor in our defense getting rolled, repeatedly, in the playoffs. The playoffs are not a lottery ticket when you're playing checkers and they're playing chess.

That too. Which is why he’d be better served having g a real DC instead of trying to g to play one himself.
