With the Jaxon Dart concussion, Jamis Winston will be under center this week

Believe he's played enough snaps for us to get a comp pick, yes?

LOL I'm old enough to remember the pipe dream of "two R3s for Wilson and Fields"

And some people (you know who you are) wanted to resign one of those guys

I wanted to re-sign Fields and my reasoning was very simple: Either he develops his ridiculous god given skills (runs like a deer, cannon for an arm) and he solves the Steelers QB problem for a decade (he's still young too) or the Steelers have a complete meltdown because Fields fails miserably (which looks to have happened in NYC, although he looked significantly better in Pittsburgh than he has in NYC. Fields could look awful and great, often in the same game. The Dallas and Colts games were truly a tale of 2 very different halves) and if Fields fails, then Tomlin fails and there's a reset at the QB position.

Guess what? A reset at the QB position is likely coming even with Rodgers under center. This team is in big trouble.

At this point Fields needs to come to the realization that he is a career back-up.

Can earn a great living g holding a clipboard in the NFL and playing when needed.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

While that's probably true, Fields hasn't exactly been put in a position to succeed in any place he's been during his NFL career.

The closest was last year in Pittsburgh, where they used designed runs and got the ball out of his hands fast. Fields actually looked to be doing some developing (he was still very up and down, but showed signs of progress) and I don't believe Fields was ever stopped in short yardage.

Honestly I think we'd probably have the same record with Fields, that we have with Rodgers (especially since Rodgers hurt his finger, he's been terrible the last 2 games.) They would play a different brand of football, but it might honestly be more suited to this team.

I know the Steelers badly wanted to keep Fields and expected him to re-sign, but the Jets gave him an offer he couldn't refuse. I'll bet Fields would like a do over.

Either way, Fields or Rodgers, the Steelers need to draft a QB with their first round pick this year. Has to happen.

Fields just had a great opening drive against the Patriots ran about seven times himself, including for the touchdown

While I agree he’s been on bad offensive teams. So was Ben and yet he got it done w/Jibbs.

No matter where Fields is stats are the same.

Look at him tonight. 4 completions for like 23 yards in one half of football.

He’s dumb and you can’t fix stupid.

Good guy, great arm, runs like a deer.

Dumb a s a box of rocks, can’t read D’s, and can’t anticipate throws.

He’s a one read guy.

A premiere offensive coach could likely get better numbers from him. But at some point a QB has to read, diagnose, and deliver an accurate ball on time.

That isn’t JF and never will be.

And I’ll add,,, it’s too fucking bad because all things so far show he’s a good kid and good teammate.

I wish that light bulb had turned on here and we lucked into a special talent.

For whatever reason though, the guy is always 4/12 for 32 yards through 2 1/2 quarters.
