Ravens open as -3 favorites, Watt long shot to play

Post by Steelperch » Mon Dec 29, 2025 12:51 am

Ravens are 3 point favorites, no surprising being that Mike Tomlin coaches the Steelers.

Per Florio, Watt is a long shot to play and Lamar Jackson is less than 50/50. Blowing a 2 game lead against a couple of backup QBs would get any other HC in the league fired, but not here.

Honestly, the Ravens don't even need to dress a QB and I would expect they still score 30+ points just by running the ball.

On the other hand, a red hot game by MVS and Scotty Miller combined with getting 2-3 turnovers might allow the Steelers to break the double digit point barrier.

Ravens IMO ae better off with Huntley playing unless Jackson is fully able and willing to run

I'm honestly not sure we've missed Watt. At least not what he's been putting on tape this year. $40M per year. Ouch.

And if LJ doesn't play, that might actually be better for BAL. Force Harbaugh to feed Henry 30X.

Like I said, this game comes down to which HC wants to start vacation more. Well, actually, I think Tomlin already started his.

Apparently he has a spinal bruise--kudos to him for even trying to go back in the game. While I think Snoop could beat the Steelers, a recovered Lamar would give them a better chance.

Harbaugh has shown that sometimes in elimination games he change things up and attack Steeler tendencies
Tomlin has never shown that and with DK and Washington out … its a lock he won’t again

I agree … generally … if Lamar is ready to run without hestsitauon and with burst
Of late it’s obvious Lamar is avoiding running …

It would be hilarious if next week is a replay of the Wild Card game last year, with Henry running all over the Steelers. Even better if Watt comes back just to pointlessly tackle Lamar / Huntley every play.

Fucking pathetic team today I'm pretty sure everyone here knew this was coming.
So if this game was in Baltimore, it would be close to -9?

I could coach the Ravens to a win next week. Run run run on offense. On defense stop the run, stop the run and stop the run.

Should lead to a blowout win.

One thing that can help Steelers next week ….
Steelers and Rodgers struggle mightily with teams getting 4 man pressure especially up the middle
Ravens base pass rush doesn’t seem very good
But Steelers likely still. Try to just run and throw short

Yes-- was about to say: Ravens are near the bottom of pass rush pressure. This helps A TON, so PIT's offense should do a little better... however, with Darnell Washington and DK out, the Steelers are less equipped to take advantage.

But it's the other side of the football that concerns. Covering TEs and stopping Derrick Henry have been bigtime issues.

It’s one of the reason for my comment on Huntley
Last night he was good on those short middle routes and he doesn’t hesitate if the run is there and is a tough runner … Henry, Huntley running and short middle, throws is big trouble in little Pittsburgh
But as you said, if Lamar is fully run healthy he is obviously better and more trouble

Does anyone know if Calvin Austin will be back?

Missing him didn't help matters either.

And I can feel the excuses being made already.

You may be right. Harbaugh is definitely feeling the heat.

However, if he wins next week, I think he can point to this season as being one of his best. He will have turned a disaster of a start into a division championship. Tomlin, on the other hand, had the division practically handed to him and will have fumbled it away. Again.

Harbaugh has never had the national media massage his prostate, either. He wasn’t handed a team fresh off a SB win, an intact SB winning coaching staff and a franchise QB, either.

In 18 seasons, Harbaugh has won a SB, just like Jibbs. However, the man has a winning record in the playoffs (13-11) and he’s won a playoff game in 10 of those 18 seasons.

Jibbs is 8-11 in the playoffs and has won playoff games in 4 of 18 seasons.

It’s time to end this nightmare. I’m sick of the gaslighting. Tomlin is a fraud and needs to go.

From enemy lines. Yes their worry is bad pass pressure. But worry hairball will regress in Henry

There is at least one scenario where the Steelers winning next week could lead to Tomlin leaving: one more Steelers win would tie Chuck Noll for the most regular season wins by a Steelers Head Coach.

If that was a goal of his, maybe that’s the first domino.

I'd rather Jackson play. While he's certainly capable of good things, Lamar's brain regularly short circuits against the Steelers.

The best thing the Steelers have going for them next week is Harbaugh's need to be tougher than Tomlin.

The question before us is- if the NFL is scripted, what does the NFL do to keep the Steelers in the game?

Because if the Ravens boat race us like they should do, the Fire Tomlin chants will be back and louder than ever.

And does the NFL really want that on prime time?

Oh I'm convinced the Steelers win this game.
Tomlin will be heralded bc he won without his #1 WR and his TE.

Because no other team has had to suffer this many injuries in a season

I am exceedingly hopeful Harball runs Henry all game.

I am pulling for a real bad loss.

Anything that makes Coach T look like a moron is a great result.

On a totally unrelated note, what the fuck has Huntley ever done that he deserves to be called by a nickname?

I have the same question about Calvin Austin. He hasn't done enough to merit the nickname "CA3".

I think CAIII is simply a short way of saying his name rather than a true nickname.
