Let's lay off Swiss (advice to myself included). He had fun watching the Steelers this season after all.

Nobody had more fun watching the Steelers last night than I did. That loss was awesome!
I am like a little kid on Christmas morning!
I am giddy!
I can finally watch my team again and root for wins!

A fountain of misinformation if you will....
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.
Another half sack from Anderson would’ve turned my $25 into $2275. That’s the only thing I’d change about last night, given the gift we received today.
Congrats to all of the sports savvy Steelers fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 7:28 pmYes, the HATERS brought this change about. They could have but said we'll announce it that you've decided to step down. Kind of like saying someone in the corporate world being let go wants to spend more time with his family.sinceiwas4 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 7:30 pmalso was he wrong? But yeah, I'm ecstatic he's getting on with his life's work.

Welfare check on Swiss
He’s taking a long time to show his face
He won’t eat crow
I told him he would lose on this.
I will get the post to memorialize
Here it is and I bumped the thread.

Now I know I am on Steeler Fury. When I see a thread with that title!
Mike Tomlin: Bringing mediocrity to the 'Burgh for over a decade.
I mean, Swiss always said that he'd step down when he wanted to. Which seems to have sadly been the case, though it could work out for the team's advantage given any team that wants him will have to negotiate to get him and offer that sweet draft compensation.
That said, Swiss was certainly wrong that he'd be on the sidelines next year. As was I, though not for the same reasons. I just thought his ego was too large to really do this when in reality it was far more fragile than I ever realized., Apparently the fan angst ate away at him. Which is something Swiss was definitely wrong about, as well.

I obviously said that Tomlin would be the coach on 2026. So guilty on that.
I have also said repeatedly the following…"mike Tomlin ain't going nowhere until Mike Tomlin decides to." And that's how it worked out

Swiss the first poaster I remember who was anti-Tomlin back when it was cool to be pro Tomlin.
"exceedingly well developed line of bullshit" or some such thing.
I rooted for steelers last night. Wasn't too upset by the loss. Thrilled by today's news.

The only reason deuce and fraudlin decided he should ‘steep down’ is he was sure to break the [Lewis/Tomliin] record for consecutive postseason losses.
Just watch, with a little time the chuckleheads will conveniently forget to mention Jibba when they mention that record.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 11:09 pmThe only reason deuce and fraudlin decided he should ‘steep down’ is he was sure to break the [Lewis/Tomliin] record for consecutive postseason losses.
It’ll be Lewis all by himself.
Kind of like how Jussie Garrett was breaking Strahan’s record and not Strahan & TJ.
And speaking of TJ, he’s starting to make Jervis Barnaby Jones look dynamic.
Victory lap time.
Outside of a minor crisis of confidence I suffered earlier this year *lol*, I was rooting for losses the past two seasons. Big, fat, ugly, embarrassing losses. Did I enjoy doing it? Well, it was kind of a fun at times I can't lie. But I did it because that was the only way it was going to force Tomlin out... either him being humbled or embarrassed enough to see the writing on the wall, or the Steelers being forced to part ways with him.
And look, I'm not mad at the fans that said it would never ever ever happen and that it did no good to root for losses.
But here's the thing: the big fat embarrassing losses I was rooting for? That's why Mike Tomlin stepped away. They got SPANKED hard last night by the Texans. If they squeak out a win against Houston and put up a respectable performance against New England, more likely than not, Tomlin was going to get a GD extension.
BRAVE fans like me, who dared to stand up for what was right, who dared to boo and chant "Fire Tomlin" are what led to this.
Will the next guy be as successful as Tomlin was when looking back through his entire tenure? Let's be real, most likely not. But that won't mean that this wasn't the right decision. It was clear Tomlin had no answers for turning this team around. We were stuck in the doldrums. But this needed change = one big thing. HOPE. They now have a chance to rebuild the way they've been needing to for god knows how many years now. Can you imagine how depressing this offseason would have been had Tomlin been back? I was not looking forward to that in the least. But now we're looking down the most exciting offseason we've had in who knows how long. Enjoy and you're welcome.

I think that played a big part as well.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 11:09 pmThe only reason deuce and fraudlin decided he should ‘steep down’ is he was sure to break the [Lewis/Tomliin] record for consecutive postseason losses.
Had we won last night Jibbs stays and the whole band gets brought back next year.
It’s why those that wanted change more than “one extra week of football” have been rooting for losses.

All I know is I have a feeling I haven't felt in years, I'm excited for next year. I fully expect the Steelers to lose for the next few year but as long as it leads to a decade of exciting winning playoff football, I'm fine with it.
Thanks for the Super Bowl victory Mike but fuck off for the miserable bullshit I had to sit through for the last 10 years.
