I'm sure you guys have noticed that by the 57th minute of the game and the middle of the field is even considered a possibility, Pat fucking EATS over the middle. Christ, I hate Arthur SmithStillerz Bar wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 4:51 amIt doesn't - maybe if you target Muth you actually DO convert some 3rd downs.langer wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 4:36 amHow does that even make sense.Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 4:33 amTomlin is a complete idiot. If they don’t fire this asshole, I’m not sure I can watch another season.
I.dont care how good the Texans D played, the fact that they went 0-fer on 3rd until the 3rd quarter should be a fireable offense on its own.

It doesn't. It's just his stock answer this year to why guys on offense, guys who are on contract two's even or they invested high picks in, aren't being utilized at all despite being built up in the off-season by the media who are spoonfed stories by the org.langer wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 4:36 amSteelperch wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 4:33 amTomlin is a complete idiot. How does that even make sense.
The truth is Jonnu is Arthur Smith's guy and Tomlin has chosen to not override him on this one stupid issue despite Smith being absolutely useless all year long and clearly outplayed by a former second round pick they brought here for games like this.
And it may also have something to do with the fact that Tomlin was big on the Ramsey/Jonnu for Minkah trade. I don't think Khan cobbled that together on his own and Tomlin certainly signed off on it. He is desperate to have his off-season decision validated.
They've thrown in the towel for like the last 3, haven't they? I'm getting old. My memory aint what is used to be I guess or maybe I just don't give a fuck anymore about this team.Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 4:12 amThe fact they put the backup QB in and ran the ball in a playoff game says it all. Waiving the white flag. They just want out of the stadium. Gutless bunch of losers! Congrats to those of you who properly hated this team all year and for the last handful of years.
I'd bet there's far more than 1 guy on the team and at least one coach who had their vacations booked for this week despite nominally having a chance to advance and keep playing.
I've been saying this for a while now, but the roster is pretty much the worst it's been in the entirety of Tomlin's tenure. He's put a bunch of band-aids on it to make it semi-competitive and achieve NHALS and they tell fans it's to get over the playoff hump.Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 4:11 amEven if they fire Tomlin and Khan this won't be corrected for three years
Watt looks done. How long can you milk Heyward who really didn't deserve even second team All-Pro this year (and he legit flashed at times - probably still the top player on the defense). What position does Ramsey even play? He aint a CB and he played like dogshit at safety at times. He's ancient in DB years.
The RT you have hope for got his ass kicked tonight. I'm not throwing in the towel there, but...
They had Harmon on the field and allowed a fuck ton of rushing yards again. I guess there's some hope with him and Black.
Like there's a glimmer of optimism in the trenches, but nothing on this team you can hang your hat on. A bunch of bad contracts they are stuck with for the next season or two (Metcalf, Watt to name two). No young blue chip players at the moment as I'd define them. A bunch of guys who really are on the cliff if they haven't fallen off entirely.
It's ugly.

JPJ is young and blue chip. Pierre isn’t as young but he’s turned into a very good player. Jaylen Warren is a stud who deserves a better fate.CKSteeler wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 9:19 amI've been saying this for a while now, but the roster is pretty much the worst it's been in the entirety of Tomlin's tenure. Well at least we witnessed *one* Steelers loss that ended up providing the greatest SBI result anyone's seen in at least the past 15 years ...

This blowout loss despite the 30-6 final, was different from the others where the Steelers were down by multiple scores in the first quarter. This was 7-6, on the final play of the third quarter, with Texans facing a3 and 15 from their 18 yard line. Those of us, who weren't reading for a Steeler loss, anticipating the Steelers giving off of the field and then taking over around their own for the meeting. Maybe one 20 yard play to get into Boswell field goal range. And a 9-7 which could have possibly held up for the remainder of the game the way this game is going. Then, of course, we know what happened… A 45 yard completion a field goal to make it a four-point game followed within the next minute by the strip sack touchdown game over. So, the Steelers were well in this game much later than the other playoff losses....:just sayin
It was close, but it just felt the only way the Steelers would win is if they got about 10 more turnoversswissvale72 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 5:10 amThis blowout loss despite the 30-6 final, was different from the others where the Steelers were down by multiple scores in the first quarter. Even after 3 quarters? Had Boz put them ahead with 8-10 minutes remaining?Deebo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 1:46 pmIt was close, but it just felt the only way the Steelers would win is if they got about 10 more turnoversswissvale72 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 5:10 amThis blowout loss despite the 30-6 final, was different from the others where the Steelers were down by multiple scores in the first quarter. You must have noticed *how* they got to that point of the game. They had the opposing QB playing as if he did not have opposable thumbs and still only managed 6 points. And they seemed lucky to get 6 points off those turnovers, considering how ineffective they were on offense.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 2:03 pmEven after 3 quarters? At that point in the game, I thought it was possible that the Steelers would go on to some extremely improbable, Houston vs Steelers back in the day victory, but what I texted others was: "They came out with and were succeeding with emotion... what happens when that adrenaline wears off?"
I figured if the HOU offense got even halfway together, they were going to pul away. And that's what happeneed.

It was 7-6, but it absolutely was not as close as the 7-6 score indicated.
They could do NOTHING on offense.
And when they had their chances, they failed on every single one...to wit:
DK dropping that pass...he could have scored on that
Rodgers passed to Thielen instead of DK- Thielen gained 21 yards- DK would have scored.
Austin slowing up on the go route...he keeps running, he might catch the pass, and if he was slowed up by the teeny tiny shoulder graze, then he sucks ass.
Rodgers having DK WTFO deep on another play...only to have the LG whiff and let the Houston guy waltz in and cause a fumble which we recovered an instant before Rodgers could let go of the ball.
Four chances...that was all we were likely to get against Houston's defense, which is fucking KICK ASS...and we failed on all four of them.
“Yeah we suck, be there is a chance we could suck slightly more if we try to correct the problem.” - Art Deuce (summarized by SteelPerch)
That was the largest one point deficit in the history of one point deficits! It was 7-6, but it absolutely was not as close as the 7-6 score indicated.
