The eight candidates for whom the Steelers requested interviews is not the final list. They are expected to add three or four more names, per sources.

Who is left that they realistically would want? Klint? Udinski?

I just read Udinski is 30.

I know Trevor Lawrence loves him, and he does seem to have made an immediate impact on Trevor's game, but damn that's young- is he also thought of as a leader of men?

Not saying he can't be- just wondering.

lol As long as we get the info. As ive stated before, id take a look at Robert Saleh, as well as, and he may not be a popular choice, but in a stable
organization like the Steelers, i think Mike McDaniel would be a great choice as well.

If you want a DC guy, Burke, Durde, or Joseph would be the obvious guys to interview. If you are looking offense, Klint or LaFleur would be the top guys.

If you are planning to tank and are just looking for someone cheap to scapegoat in a couple years, our list makes sense.

So are you saying that past HC failure Vance Joseph along with Texans DC Matt Burke and Seahawks DC Aden Durde are the long term HC candidates the Steelers SHOULD be interviewing???

And that the DC candidates the Steelers ARE interviewing like Jesse Minter, Chris Shula, and Jeff Hafley SUCK...

...YET the Steelers SHOULD hire them if they want a high draft pick in '27 and beyond?

you can sell me on minter (good candidate), and hafley is ok, but if you were really doing a ‘wide net search’ for the best guy, i’d imagine including at least one of the top 5 OCs or top 5 DCs of the NFL in 2025 (by points) would be part of due diligence. Not saying we should choose one of them, but at least an interview?

Also possible we are just recognizing that our HC job isn’t a desirable landing spot so not really worth contacting the best candidates.

They hired very young and inexperienced coach last two times. 30 isn’t so different from 34. I believe U do ski is a star, and KOC, Liam Cohen, and others from both organizations agree.

We’re up to 7 interviews, 6 DCs and a passing game coordinator. Not a single OC so far. Rooney gonna Rooney.
The Steelers have submitted an interview request for 49ers offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak for their head coach vacancy, per source

Dumb franchise until proven otherwise

The 6 DCs do nothing for me.

Passing game coordinator doesn't do much for me either, doesn't tell me much.

I wonder who the Giants brought in under the Rooney Rule...
have nor been flollowing if they started the process a few weeks back?
I asked the same thing and I can’t find an answer.

Harbaugh went on the market and the Giants went after him hard. As far as I can tell he was their only candidate.

I’m sure no one will say anything. Just like when the Pats hired Vrabel. They will make someone up if they have to.
Vance Joseph and Raheem Morris both interviewed with the giants 10 days or so ago

Ah, thank you. I was not aware of that.

Back in the day, when Tomlin was more popular with you asshats and we were asked to rank those coaches ahead of Tomlin, I always ranked Peyton, Harbaugh, McCarthy ahead of Tomlin, contrary to the position of many of you.

McCarthy is an upgrade over Tomlin, sure, but it hardly inspires hope that we are going for a home run pick.

This sounds like several other candidates already told the Rooneys they won’t abide their meddling bullshit if hired and now the Rooneys are realizing they are running out of options

I would go Klint Kubiak............
or another offensive mind.

But I think Shula is the leading candidate
from a Steelers viewpoint, young, DC............
betting money is on Shula.
