Re: Steelers trade for Pittman
Trade details are out.
Steelers give up a 6th rounder (not disclosed yet which of our 6ths) for Pittman and a 7th.

Now if the trade up to get lemon our WR room will be a major upgrade. But I be very happy with adding Cooper or Branch or KC

You know, I had no idea the Colts QB play was so consistently mediocre. Makes the Steelers look like Marino and Fouts.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 7:22 pmPittman is at least used to playing with shitty QB's
Michael Pittman's QBs in the NFL:
2021 Carson Wentz
2021 Jacob Eason
2022 Sam Ehlinger
2022 Nick Foles
2022 Matt Ryan
2023 Anthony Richardson
2023 Gardner Minshew
2024 Anthony Richardson
2024 Joe Flacco
2025 Daniel Jones
2025 Riley Leonard
2025 Philip Rivers
this trade also makes me wonder again - what were these clowns thinking last year going into the season with no WR2 or really 3 for that matter

It only took two years to solve this. It a shame with the group of WR they put onto the field

I believe this was a perfect situation for the front office.
They knew once Pierce was resigned Pittman was a likely trade scenario.
I believed they were targeting someone like Doubs. His market value is yet to be determined the competition will drive that value higher.
I believe they got a screaming hot deal for Pittman and this is the best value they could hope for. Congrats!

This is a very advanced move the the Steelers FO. They basically get a proven WR2 in FA, but he's not a FA, so doesn't impact compensatory picks.
He also seems to be a) a great team captain type of guy and b) the perfect weapon for Rodgers and the quick pass game.
Dare I say the Steelers playing some chess?

Especially since watching the cheats pay Doubs $80M (base of $68M) for 4 years.

"We call it the 'Texas Coast' where we was at when he was there," Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said of McCarthy's offensive philosophy. "But I'm sure he is going to call it the 'Steelers Coast' there. So definitely a West Coast vibe. He wants to spread the ball, get vertical and run immediately down the field. The fastest way to the zone is through the middle of the field."
Waitadarnminute.....according to Tomlin and the past 4-ish years, this is INCONCEIVABLE! (in Vizzini's lispy voice)

TBH I'm getting pretty fired up by Pittman highlight reel videos. More complete route runner and better RAC then I thought.
Probably a top 10 WR2
Now they just need a WR1

I think this is where the FO believes they've addressed the WR room.lifelongsteel wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2026 5:42 pmTBH I'm getting pretty fired up by Pittman highlight reel videos. More complete route runner and better RAC then I thought.

DK is probably in the bottom tier of WR1 while Pittman is in the top tier of WR2.
Not saying I agree with this philosophy, but I understand it.

I think you are right. I'm down on DK. Just not sure what he does well at this point. I guess if you can hit him in stride on one of the two routes he can run "and" he happens to catch the ball he's pretty amazingDeebo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2026 5:46 pmI think this is where the FO believes they've addressed the WR room.lifelongsteel wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2026 5:42 pmTBH I'm getting pretty fired up by Pittman highlight reel videos.
