Conner Heyward Gone
Raiders signed to a 2 year deal, with 2m guaranteed. Another bum off the roster.

Colbert's last draft class, now officially extinct:
Kenny - Gone
Pickens - Gone
Leal - Gone
CAIII - Gone
Heyward - Gone
Robinson - Gone
Oladokun - Gone
Solid last draft.
Probably worst all-time draft class in Steeler history, Pickens only good pick and he's a mental midget.

Hey but at least lil Calvin caught that TD against the Ravens, that led to Steelers getting curb stomped by Houston and picking 21st this year instead of 14th, in all 7 rounds.

Love it
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

I can’t tell if I’m more pumped over losing Calvin Austin or losing Connor Heyward or signing Jaquan Brisker. I approve of all 3 moves.
I hesitate to comment until I hear what STD thinks about these moves.Steelperch wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 11:47 pmI can’t tell if I’m more pumped over losing Calvin Austin or losing Connor Heyward or signing Jaquan Brisker. I approve of all 3 moves.

I can’t believe big Mike is reeling me back in. I haven’t been this satisfied with an off-season in years. Still 12 draft picks to go.Steelperch wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 11:47 pmI can’t tell if I’m more pumped over losing Calvin Austin or losing Connor Heyward or signing Jaquan Brisker. WR Calvin Austin III leaving Steelers to sign with Giants - ESPN https://share.google/CvNw7W4dyWg8dFFLMOne of just two players who played out his rookie contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers from their underwhelming seven-man 2022 draft class, Austin recorded three touchdowns and 372 receiving yards on 31 catches in an injury-shortened 2025 season.

I was hoping to cut him but this may help with the compensatory formula.
Aside from a few tush pushes, Heyward was always a net negative. Our odds of scoring points went down with his presence.
Good riddance.

Can't win a playoff game without qualifying, but keep rooting for losses. Ravens are picking at 14 with 8-9 record. Had Steelers lost that game, they still finish 9-8...don't know what slot they would have drafted in, but doubt it was 14.955876 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2026 1:17 amI’m still coming down from the “one extra game high”.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 11:33 pm

And Tomlin tying Marvin Lewis for the longest playoff losing streak of 8 games (which, ironically, should be a record Tomlin owns all his own).
Also, consider if they somehow win that game we might have been stuck with Tomlin another 10 years.
Swiss got this one right

This wasn’t Colbert’s last draft class as much as it was Tomlin’s first.
Colbert lost a power struggle with King Ego. He didn’t want to retire. He was pushed out because Mediocre Mike had Art the Lessor’s ear and being the de facto GM gave him the total control he wanted.
Mike Tomlin’s ego drove this team into the toilet, and his true stamp came with this draft class. Look at the free agent signings since 2022. Mike Tomlin was terrible at judging talent.
Who did Tomlin bring in as Free Agents in 2022?
Terrell Edmunds - Gone
Myles Jack - gone
James Daniels - gone
Gunner Olszewski - gone
Montravius Adams - gone
Levi Wallace - gone
Chukwuma Okorafor - gone
Mason Cole - gone
Mitch Trubisky - gone
Miles Killebrew - UFA
Ahkello Witherspoon - gone
Okorafor and Edmunds were Steelers FA signings. A pile of shit was brought in from the outside. Daniels was decent.. Killebrew was the only guy who made it to 2025... most of these guys were gone by 2023.
Thank God Tomlin is gone.

I can’t believe this. Didn’t Cam put this in his contract terms?
MUST HAVE BABY BROTHER ON TEAM. I HAVE TO FEED MY FAMILY.
This is a great sign. The fact the Steelers wouldn’t match a 2-yr, $5,500,000 contract for Cam’s baby brother is a sign this franchise is healing.
Maybe Cam will retire in protest?
Fuck you, Cam.

I feel the same way I felt when Derek Watt was traded or whatever happened there. It's a HUGE massive loss.
"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."
The plus side for Connor is that at least now by signing with another team he actually knows he's really a NFL player and not solely just a charity case.

I don’t think we ever recovered from the loss of Derek
Derek from Texas >> Derek Watt

Well, if he really is getting $2 million guaranteed that’s a significant upgrade over the $100,000 guaranteed Calvin Austin is receiving
lol
This team, it’s personnel decisions, drafting, roster management - all of it
Has severely sucked for far too long
As testament, aside from the absurdity of carrying Calvin, Austin and Conner Hayward for three seasons
If Jalen Ramsey is on this roster after 4 PM today, they owe him approximately $5 million of his almost $20 million salary
That’s $20 million for a marginal cornerback and generally ineffective free safety
Awesome, fucking personnel decisions right there

Worst colbert was 2008 (2022 already surpassed it in career AV while on rookie contracts), 2nd worst will probably end up being 2018 (2022 likely to pass them this season).StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 11:30 pmColbert's last draft class, now officially extinct:

Pickens’ talent pretty much would have validated the entire class by himself if they could have handled keeping him.

It's going to be a career-defining draft for Khan and company this year.
Has Khan drafted better than latter day Colbert? Sure. There have been some great picks, especially in the mid rounds like Nick Herbig and Mason McCormick.
But it hasn't been good enough and there have been plenty of complete whiffs (Broderick basically is, let's be real, and Kaleb Johnson and Roman Wilson are busts with a bullet). GMs are defined by the big decisions. They've got 5 top 100 picks this year and they need a good young QB. Do they find a bunch of high level guys who can help rebuild this team? Do they find that QB? That is the biggest test of Khan. They have to get it right, whether that's this year or next year. If they don't? There's the door, peace.

tomlin was allowed to decimate our immediate futures by going all in to reach the coveted .500 season.
rooney allowed him to make ignorant FA moves to try to win 1 playoff game.
i smile knowing deep down tomlin knows he only could win with cowhers players and coaches.
You can’t win a playoff game (or even be competitive in one) with Jibba Jabber and the cast of shitty assistant coaches he surrounds himself with either.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2026 2:22 amCan't win a playoff game without qualifying, but keep rooting for losses. Duh.
A decade of tape proves this.
Some of us were smart enough to realize that “one extra game” was becoming detrimental to the long-term success of the team.
You got your extra game though. And that game ended up exactly how we told you it would.
Chasing fool’s gold doesn’t make you a better fan. It just made you a complacent one.
