Ca is a decent player no one disagrees but far from a Number 2 sorry.
It's going to be funny if Austin goes on to sign elsewhere with a real QB and offensive scheme that makes use of its WR's and thrives.

I'm reminded a bit of Emmanuel Sanders who blossomed after leaving here.
That was a different ERA.

The scouting, drafting and coaching have deteriorated since then!

Gone are the possibilities of the Ward, Wallace, Holmes, Sanders, Burress, Brown, JuJu stretch. Hell they had one of those guys in Pickens, to start a new stretch, but nobody had the coaching gravitas, intestinal fortitude and wherewithal to design an offense with his being assuaged in mind, or at least a reduction in the number of 50 yard wind sprints per game.

The Steelers will draft a Wr very early
When was the last time the Steelers took a WR higher than the 3rd round, outside of Pickens (who they had to take a shot at, even though he's a mental midget) who I believe was a second rounder?

If they take a WR, it'll be in the 3rd round or lower.

QB, Safety and CB are far bigger needs right now.
Hey if they can finally draft a dL in round One why not a WR
Cause there's not much difference between a Rd1 Wr and a Rd2/Rd3 Wr (Marvin Harrison Jr says HI)

Somehow BB was able to use small atypical twitchy WRs effectively (Edelman, Welker, Amendola ?sp, etc) and the PS have many in that mold.

Tomlin doesn't have the ability to learn from that.

Should have grabbed Dart and let him sit behind Rodgers for a year or two.

I like that CA III on most of our big chunk plays shows up blocking downfield.

That 80ish yard TD from DK wasn't he 60 yards downfield and blocking? I want to say the same for Warrens big ass catch and run this year as well.

No way should he be included in any conversation about a number 2. Glad they didn’t extend him

Yes, I generated this OP, defended and promoted CA III. He fucked up huge tonight. I'll own that.

I've also thought, ranted often about the stupid fuckin George Pickens trade. I was excited when the draft passed and Pickens remained a Steeler, the thought of a pair of top flight receivers was excitingz

The trade of George Pickens ranks with the absolute worst trades in steeler history, along with the trade of Santonio Holmes for a bucket of mud, and the Buddy Dial for nothing trade, which prob only a couple of you asshats remember.

Swiss, if it's any consolation...they weren't winning anything with Pickens, either. While I agree it was a bad trade when you are going all-in on this season and they could have probably gotten at least one decent season out of him in a contract year, that still wouldn't have resulted in them playing any deeper into January.

This isn't the Santonio Holmes trade, as wrongheaded as it was. The idea that they were better off going with less talent at WR because Metcalf and Pickens are too similar was ridiculous to me. At worst, you have two guys who can take the top off defenses. Even then, Pickens is showing that he can in fact run more than 2-3 routes if given the chance to do so.

I think long term, Pickens is going to implode and fuck his own career. But yea, he could have helped the Steelers this year in some sense.
