Steelers Roster Cuts
Steelers have until 4:00 to get down to 53. So far:
Jacob Klinger
✔ @Jacob_Klinger_
Pair of local college products are getting cut by the Steelers, per sources:
Larson Graham, C/G, Duquesne
Matt Galambos, ILB, Pitt
Galambos spent part of last season on the team's practice squad. Neither got very close to first-team reps throughout training camp.

WR Damoun Patterson (waived/injured, Jeremy Fowler). Shame, dude was
playing great. Hopefully they can bring him back or put him on the practice squad.

It takes 24 hours to clear waivers to become PS illegible?
IR storage maybe

Likely IR'd... Galambos didn't see any preseason playtime except in game 4 after Thomas had his cramp injury. Likely PS'd.

Turf toe shouldn't last too long. Need to stash him somewhere.

Didn't Turf Toe end Jack Lambert's career?

Yup, back in the dark ages of medical technology.

I think this was a mistake waiving him. They should have IR'd him. He's going to be picked up and become a great receiver for someone else (hopefully not the fucking Pats or Ravens).

With such a jam packed WR corps I think this is the Steelers way of putting Patterson in a position to check if there's a market for him. If no takers they IR him... JMO

Actually, I hate the fact that he was waive regardless as that means we will probably be stuck with Hunter or DHB as WR's. We know Switzer will be another for his KR/PRs. I don't like Hunter or DHB and think we could do better than them on our roster. Patterson has more skill than both of them put together and he is just a rookie, imo of course. Hope he does clears waivers and the Steelers do stash him somewhere.

The team released the following players: punter Matt Wile, running backs Jarvion Franklin, James Summers and Fitzgerald Toussaint, wide receivers Trey Griffey, Quadree Henderson and Tevin Jones, tight ends Bucky Hodges, Pharoah McKever and Christian Scotland-Williamson, offensive linemen Larson Graham, Patrick Morris, Oni Omoile, R.J. Prince, Jake Rodgers and Chris Schleuger, cornerbacks Brian Allen, Dashaun Phillips, Malik Reaves and Jamar Summers, linebackers Keion Adams, Matt Galambos and Farrington Huguenin, and defensive linemen Parker Cothren, Joshua Frazier, Greg Gilmore, Lavon Hooks, Casey Sayles and Kendal Vickers.
In addition, the team designated several players waived/injured, including wide receivers Damoun Patterson and Marcus Tucker, offensive lineman Joseph Cheek, safety Malik Golden and linebacker Keith Kelsey. The team also placed wide receiver Eli Rogers on the Reserve/PUP List.
The Steelers can sign 10 players to their practice squad, with that being able to be done on Sunday at 12 noon.

@AdamSchefter
Steelers released vested veterans quarterback Landry Jones and safety Nat Berhe. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status ... 4304001031
There you go. Landry Jones gone. Good move, imo. Brian Allen gone? interesting.... Hope he can make the PS.
Adams should make the PS. Along with Fitz, Hodges, T. Jones, Patterson, and Hooks, to name a few.
They kept Banner as the 9th OL.

A couple guys I thought would make the team. Chick stays, yeah ( he's fucking useless). Would rather have Adams over him, would rather have Allen over Sensabaugh.

I’ve liked him more than the other 2nd year guy, Sutton.

Glad they kept Ridley...
Tomlin stayed true to form, with the exception of Landry Jones - he kept his boys Hunter, DHB, Chick, and Red. With Hodges cut, that must mean the Grimble and/or McDonald are ready to go for the season.

Suttom was good last year. Allen showed hardly any real growth this offseason. Not surprising they chose Sensabaugh over him.

One more to cut after Bell arrives. I would guess Dangerfield, but it could be Ridley.

The depth chart on Steelers.com shows Bell, and only 52 total players. Switzer is not listed there so he’d be 53.

Gotta think Dangerfield's respect is going to last until Bell signs. No? 26 O, 24 D and 3 ST.

Roster shows 54 by my count. 26 O, 25 D and 3 ST.

At the least it would nice if Tomlin stopped saying the “we don’t live in our fears” bullshit because well, he clearly does. Better options at this point than DHB, Eli Rogers, & Chickillo etc.
Props for doing what’s best longer term by getting rid of the highly mediocre to not very good Jones though.
Keeping him would him would have created an immediate need to draft another QB next year. Made no sense.
Ya ya he knows the offense.
Dobbs is a year two player and a real smart guy. If these coaches can’t coach him up enough to make a spot star or finish a game it’s on them, not him. Especially considering the added factor he brings to the table with his mobility.
More reps for he and Rudolph. Whoever is showing best is #2.

Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 85 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.
