He was over 500 lbs at one point. That’s ridiculous.
Every pound of excess fat requires almost a mile of capillaries. Extra weight can put serious pressure on your cardiovascular system. This doesn't even count a factor like cholesterol.

That is tragic. Hard to think of something worse than losing a child.
