Vince is very good at what he does. Can’t be mad at him coming back.
I think Colbert may just be going thru the motions at this point, too.

Is Dobbs heading up the Rooney’s space exploration side biz?
Hear they teamed up w Branson.
Hear they teamed up w Branson.
And Dobbs will fight it out with Haskins for the 3rd string job.
I'd advise Haskins to play well. Dobbs may not be an NFL starting level QB, but he always looks good in the preseason and in camp.

Filling out the roster as they do every single year before the draft for bare minimum $. And Vince is a quality player and good at his role. Shouldn't affect their draft plans at all.

Hmmmmm
Assuming Bush is ready to go to start season

What is it that he does very good? And please don’t say run stopping, because he really doesn’t.Steelperch wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:17 pmVince is very good at what he does. Can’t be mad at him coming back.
Remember...this is a guy that took a seat to Mark Barron two seasons ago.
The great Bince may be the most overrated, by Steelers fans, Steelers player of all time.
So yes...I’m mad that he’s back. This team just can’t and won’t let go of mediocrity.
NHALS = NFL purgatory
Those two will be fighting it out to be starting QB in 2022.

In other news, Mike Adams, KenDoll Simmons, and Chris Kemoeotu were brought back to “bolster” the oline.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 85 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

I know folks don't like Rudolph, but he'll be Ben's successor until the first round QB they take in the 2022 draft will be up to speed.
You'll see.
There's a very good chance neither Dobbs or Haskins will be on the roster in a year.

I wouldn't put much cash on that happening.

If Vince took a big pay cut a month ago you guys would’ve thought it was a good move to get under the cap. They cut him and his $6 million cap hit and signed him back for probably 1/3 for that. Now it’s a bad move by a franchise destined for mediocrity and Colbert mailed it in. Williams is a tone setter. Very tough run defender. Good blitzer. You won’t find many ILBs in the NFL that do those things as well as him. Carry on.
We need some toughness up the middle.Williams is a tone setter. Very tough run defender. Good blitzer. You won’t find many ILBs in the NFL that do those things as well as him. Carry on.
We also need our coaches to stop allowing the offense to put WRs etc on him.

So Browns sign Clowney and we resign Vince Williams?
Not only a grand slam on this years draft, but basically we need to hope for every starter to stay on the field all year.
Seems way more teams are getting better than getting worse...more and more it seems like the ceiling is getting lower and lower.
Is there anyone who wants a franchise LT or another EDGE in the first round, someone we can keep around hopefully for a couple contracts instead of letting Williams, Harris or Etienne go after 4 + a 5th year messy type contract that you don't want to get into with a RB.
Just seems like a RB in 2nd or 3rd is more optimal. Than maybe a C in 3 or 4 with all of the depth.
Edit: Notice i listed Williams first? That's because he's gonna be the best NFL back of the 3.

Better chance Rudolph won't be. He's UFA after this year. CFL bound, maybe.

As Perch stated, we cut VWill and resigned him for less. I'm good with that.
I'm not ready to declare this a sunk ship for next season.

With PMT at the helm, the only question is when and how badly we get embarassed in the playoffs.
If we even make the playoffs. Depending on when BAL or CLE gives everyone the blueprint to roll over PMT's schemes.

I'd make a wager Rudolph is on the roster.
They trust Rudolph. He's never been cut. He'll come cheap. He knows the system. He was what, a 3rd round draft choice?
Haskins was cut by a bad football team and has character issues. Dobbs has been cut numerous times.
Yeah, with Roethlisberger very likely headed out the door after 2020, I'll bet Rudolph is most certainly on the roster next year.
Either as the #1 guy, or as a back up to the first rounder who'll be expected to be Ben's successor.

Williams has more sacks over the last two years so I’m good with it. Clowney is an overrated China doll.Minkah'n Big Plays wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 7:33 pmSo Browns sign Clowney and we resign Vince Williams?
When paired with an effective coverage LB, bince is an effective ILB. Knows how to plug running holes. Left alone or with coverage responsibilities, fughetaboutit.
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Surprising anyone is mad Vince is being brought back at a reduced rate. I love it.
Dobbs is competition for Haskins. Who cares...
