Doubt we'll be in a position to draft either of them.
Unless we lose a bunch of fucking games. Which should be our goal this year. Develop our younger players, trade off a disappointing vet like Pat F., trade away Highsmith so we can re-sign Herbig (otherwise there's 0% chance he is a Steeler past 2026), and lose a bunch of fucking games.

Dante Moore would look good in black n gold, gonna require moving up though...
Mendoza could be the 1st QB off the board but he is a pocket passer which turns off teams.

I think Moore is trending as the #1 guy but he will turn off teams looking for overexperience (that seems to be the latest fad: can't draft anyone who isn't a 6th year senior).
I predict this is likely to be more of a showcase for Moore than for Mendoza. (hope I'm wrong for you Indiana fans in here.)

As a Hoosier fan, this is the most important football game, arguably in the history of IU's program.
I'm praying this is a close game, whether IU wins or loses but if IU wins this game? At #3 Oregon? What this will do for IU now and in the future (recruiting and transfer portal wise) is going to be huge.
IU wins today and they are fucking for real national championship contenders.
They take a massive ass beating...then...well.......

Oof, horrible throw and decision by Mendoza on that pick 6.
Hope to see the kid bounce back next drive.
I am also watching Oklahoma vs Texas. Neither of those QBs are playing well either.

Sorry, I am not seeing generational QB talent on either side of the ball here.

Props to Indiana—great road win.
Moore is a great player but protection was beyond awful. Indiana’s pass rush and ILB play surprised me. They are significantly better than Penn State’s more vaunted D.

Wow, IU closes it out! Nice to see a non-traditional power team rise up.

There’s not a single franchise QB in this upcoming draft class. They all suck and I hate them.

I'm not sure either is a generational talent and the Oregon kid is young, but after Mendoza made an epically bad decision on that pick six, I sat there and wondered how he would respond.Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 10:50 pmSorry, I am not seeing generational QB talent on either side of the ball here.
On the road.
Against the 3rd ranked team that has won 18 in a row at home.
All Mendoza did was take his team right down the fucking field, methodically and overcoming numerous false start penalties, and again on a MUST SCORE DRIVE, Mendoza dropped a gorgeous dime to Sarratt for the go-ahead TD.
Perfect route, perfect throw, perfect timing.
In that fucking loud ass crazy hostile environment.
Dude isn't perfect but he might be the best NFL prospect in all of college football. He can make all the throws and he can definitely overcome adversity.

Mendoza has a big arm, makes quick decisions, throws with anticipation and accuracy. Not sure what else you might want?K_C_ wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 12:24 amI'm not sure either is a generational talent and the Oregon kid is young, but after Mendoza made an epically bad decision on that pick six, I sat there and wondered how he would respond.Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 10:50 pmSorry, I am not seeing generational QB talent on either side of the ball here.

And underrated athleticism. A bit like Ben coming out of Miami of Ohio. Neither were/are Lamar Jackson, but they can pick up important yards with their legs.jebrick wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 12:47 pmMendoza has a big arm, makes quick decisions, throws with anticipation and accuracy. Obviously Mendoza doesn’t have Ben’s ability to shed pass rushers but then again….no one had Ben’s ability to shed pass rushers like Roethlisberger, before or since. We may never see anything like that again.
But what I love about Mendoza is his ability to forget a bad play and string together real good ones.
Best college QB I’ve seen all year.
