It's always the sign of a well designed passing offense when it's only run successfully by the top .01% of NFL QBs.
Nothing against Rudolph, I thought he played gutsy, but we saw the offense of the last 4 years today.
The only improvement to our offense this year was the addition of a QB that can make inhumanly quick reads, and throw into inhumanly small windows.

I don’t hate everything with the offense, only most of it. The 3 TE sets are fine as long as isn’t your entire identity. The Rams do it right. They run it a lot but have two elite WRs and a good QB and passing game mixed in. I like our top two backs and the TE group is solid. The O line has improved.
The lack of a second WR and the complete neglect of an intermediate passing game and the void of attacking the middle of the field are inexcusable and an insult to modern NFL offense.

In this offense, a quality #2 WR would be meaningless.steelmann58 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 11:52 pmWe be moving into year 3 without a quality number two WR
Pickens mentioned it himself. He said it would be "DK and 2 TE's" and he's right.
Pickens would have been watching Ben Skowronek a whole lot today from the sidelines.
This is the offense Mike Tomlin and Arthur Smith want.

DK needs to be our #2. They need a talented route runner to be the #1. And of course a new OC and scheme.steelmann58 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 11:52 pmWe be moving into year 3 without a quality number two WR
These clowns couldn't use good WRs. Maybe that's why the team doesn't have any.
"We, as an offensive collective were off today, and certainly, he's a component of that,"
And both should be fired for choosing a scheme that makes them a bottom feeder offense. This is the offense Mike Tomlin and Arthur Smith want.
Yet again

Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 88 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

Still don't understand why teams don't respond to the extra Steelers' offensive lineman by bringing in a 5-man bear front. 3 DTs would put an end to that BS quickly. And that's really the only thing that's worked for the Steelers this season.Steelperch wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 11:44 pmI don’t hate everything g with the offense, only most of it. Also, 36 out of 73 offensive snaps featured Jaylen Warren, vs a bottom 5 run defense. Only half of those snaps featured a Warren touch or target. Make it make sense.

And to think about it...... Gainwell has been pretty good, tied with DK in team lead with 42 catches, but only 5.6 per catch ( Warren is at 8.8 )
How about this novel idea....
Get them both on the field at the same time for 8-10 plays a game.
Warren had 61 catches in 2023. Down to 38 last year...and currently only 25 catches this year. WTF
Keep in mind....he had zero career starts before this year.
He becomes the starter and becomes the back up again. Yikes. Half ass backwards is the term?
Instead of having Spencer Anderson on the field for 20 snaps, Spencer on the left side, Spencer on the right side, Spencer in motion, Spencer lined up at FB or HB......
Its an obsession at this point. Yes he opened some nice holes and the run game was better, has been better....
But ultimately, over usage of the 6th OL and having less skill position players on the field has led to tighter defenses, defending less territory.......
and allows the defense to double the 2-3 receiving targets in route. And having that 6th OL on the field, should eventually allow for a few max protect plays..........with plenty of time for guys to work open, instead of pre-snap determined shots down the sidelines.
Spencer Anderson had 20 snaps.
Spencer Anderson had 20 snaps.
Roman Wilson had 20 snaps, your #3 WR had twenty snaps.
I think it would be safe to say, we saw S.A. in motion more than a 4.4 WR....who would use that motion to gain free releases, running starts, separation. We just saw a play last week in which Wilson went in motion left to right, passed the OL/ TE and on snap cut back across the field for a pretty intermediate completion. Kid was wide open.
RW used his speed to beat his guy deep down the right sidelines on our second to last drive, had a few steps on the defender, when Mason threw the ball over his head about 3 yards out of bounds. If I recall the play, Mason could have thrown that to the hashes or just outside the hashes and RW could have run under it...possibly for 6, as the safety was not close. Mason happened to save his worst pass for that play.
And in this TE centric offense, how on earth after what we saw last week with Darnell, his catch and run highlight plays, does he get only 2 targets?
But that is par for the course since Cincy game #1.... they alternate featuring him every other week.
5 targets vs Cincy wk.
0 targets following week vs GB.

I have to assume or have to hope to assume, that Darnell will be featured against the Bills.

65 defensive snaps.
Patrick Queen...all 65 snaps.
Payton Wilson 40
Malik Harrison 39.
I'll assume Harrison took 25 of PW snaps.... and assume all three were on the field at the same time for some?
Can Harrison been on the field with PQ AND PW......3 ILB....over a 3rd DL or a 5/6th DB?
Harrison was also on the field for the head scratching 2 down lineman play to defend the Bears TD run at the 2 yard line.
That was a double whammy.....
1. Harrison on the field over a third or 4th down lineman.....
2. or Harrison on the field over Wilson....who is one guy that can seek thru an opening and maybe upend the RB for no gain or loss.
In 25 less snaps
Queen 1 solo tackle 4 assists = 5 total
Wilson 4 solo, 1 assist = 5 total.
Benton 3 + 2 = 5 ( 49 snaps )
Harmon 2 + 2 = 4 ( 31 )
Cam 1 + 1 =2 ( 47 )
Yahya 0+1 = 1 ( 13 ) + a forced fumble and fumble recovery
Patrick Queen...all 65 snaps.

Malik Harrison 39.

How about 4 down linemen on the field for that ball at the two.......
Cam Yahya Harmon and Benton.
Herbig and TJ.... lined up a bit behind the DE's
the 2 Safeties lined up behind the OLB....pinched inside a bit,
and the 2 corners lined up on the WRs
and Wilson in the middle....spying Williams.
I like my chance of one of those 4 DL that is not doubled..........knifing thru and getting in the backfield.
I do not like my chances of the only two down linemen getting sandwich and crushed and driven into the endzone on skates.
We choose inexplicable.

Shit like this is should impossible to ignore by EVERYONE. After watching MR Washington do the monster mash last week I am watching and waiting, and waiting, and waiting and....Tomlin somehow decides he has a slew of better options again. Coach is criminally incompetent. I know, I know. What else is new. But God damn.
Truly do not understand the Gainwell obsession (or Warren hate). It isn't that Gainwell is bad. He has been good even. But Warren is better. They both have the same speed / quickness but Warren is a bit stronger and has a little better vision. He is just better than Gainwell. It should be Warren getting 60-65% of the touches with Gainwell the balance. They have it almost backwards.Stosh-67 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 2:49 pmIt really is criminal on the miss use of Jalen Warren.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 2:13 pmStill don't understand why teams don't respond to the extra Steelers' offensive lineman by bringing in a 5-man bear front. 3 DTs would put an end to that BS quickly. Aaron Rodgers at QB provides hope for this season. He missed some passes after the finger injury that Mason Rudolph would have easily hit, but when healthy he can be a difference maker. Luckily it's his left wrist that's hurt, so it shouldn't affect his throwing
Siri tell me why the Steelers still have hope
