After seeing his last performance against Greg Rousseau of the Bills I can see why they hid him there.
I just can't see how they can justify picking up his 5th year option.
His play is replacement-level. I'm not even sure there's any real downgrade with Andrus Peat, who is making less than $1.5M this year. Picking up Jones' 5th year option would cost around $20M on the cap in 2027.
There's just no way it can make sense to do. He's still a complete mess at tackle and they haven't been able to develop him in any meaningful way.

It's a bad thing that he's hurt.
It's a bad thing if a player on the opposing team is hurt.
“ But Brian was the quarterback. He lay on the ground like a sniper had shot him, so they threw me out. It’s big entertainment now, protect the quarterback, $200 to your favorite charity.”
