What kind of sick nightmare sequence is this?
They shitcanned Mayo and went and got their guy.
Imagine being a fan of an organization that isn’t complacent after winning 7 super bowls in the last 20 years.
Everything sucks. Tomlin’s “legacy” will doom this franchise for years to come.

And they fired Belichek after it was obvious he wasn’t the answer anymore, if anyone should have been able to go out on their terms it probably should have been Belicheck. All these damn talking heads saying the Steelers can’t fire Tomlin, I ask why the fuck not?

Shit... we had Vrabel in the building, barely put him on the field, and tossed him out like trash. he went to NE and took off, becoming a defensive (and occasional offensive) stud for them.
Imagine if Kevin Dotson or Robert Spillane become a Head Coach someday. Kind of like that.

What’s even worse is after Ben retired, I screamed that they needed to gut the roster and rebuild from scratch. Instead they doubled down on high priced veteran free agents and past their prime big name QBs. We sit here heading into 2026 without single star on the roster under 26 and zero quality coaches anywhere on the roster.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 1:58 amShit... we had Vrabel in the building, barely put him on the field, and tossed him out like trash. he went to NE and took off, becoming a defensive (and occasional offensive) stud for them.

They now need a bigger tear down and rebuild than they needed when Ben retired. Problem is, I don’t know if the organization has the stomach to do what needs done.

It’s hard to tell the talent they have because the coaching and schematics have been so gawd awful the last 10 years, hire the right coach and some of the young guys might improve tons.

It's 1969, or as close as we're going to get to it in the post-1972 era of Steelers football.Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 2:02 amWhat’s even worse is after Ben retired, I screamed that they needed to gut the roster and rebuild from scratch. Agreed. We’ve essentially delayed a rebuild for 5 seasons because of Tomlin’s dumb fat ego, one-liners and platitudes. He’s shown he’s incapable of drafting properly, building a defense and attracting up and coming young assistants who then go on to their own coaching careers.
It’s the equivalent of patchwork siding replacements and a few new windows when they entire structure needed to be torn down to the studs and reconstructed.

The mentality of our “stars” is another thing that is upsetting. Remember back when the Bettis, Ward, Farrior, Smith bunch had been around for a while and won some divisions and playoff games but never won a SB. Those guy were hungry. They were pissed when they fell short. I see none of that fire from the Watt/Heyward bunch. Soft ass leaders with no heart. Fuck them and they need to be sent packing with Tomlin.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 2:07 amIt's 1969, or as close as we're going to get to it in the post-1972 era of Steelers football.Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 2:02 amWhat’s even worse is after Ben retired, I screamed that they needed to gut the roster and rebuild from scratch. Looks like I accidentally deleted it
If we are lucky to get a change. I’d like to see the new guy jettison most of this team

Let’s trade Tomlin to the Giant for Franz Kafka, straight up.
I actually like what Kafka does on offense I think they are going to be good when the stars are back next year.

Agreed.
Both Heyward and Watt are massive disappointments and a big reason why this team has no heart, no fire, no win-at-all-costs mentality. They are two effeminate clowns who only care about personal accolades and money. tWatt with his stats and big dick contract, and Captain sCam with his WPMOTY and his pathetic podcast. Neither one are leaders. Imagine Jack Lambert working hard to perfect his Rockette leg kick sack dance like tWatt, and pouting like a bitch if he didn’t get the DPOTY award. Imagine Joe Greene crying that a QB “kneed” him in the stomach during a post-game press conference, after spending the entire 4 quarters bitching about it to the refs and anyone who would listen.
My god, the soy and the entitlement oozes out of both of them. Rookies learn what exactly from these two? Kiss Jibb’s ass and you can have a roster spot for life? Make no waves and your future will include easy practices, no stress, and massive contracts! It’s the New Steeler Way.
They think, like their fraud coach, that Canton is assured. Well, we’ll see. But the reason the Noll players of the 70’s and the Cowher players of the 2000’s are legends and are remembered is because of the effort, the Super Bowls and post-season success. These two clowns have made more money than any of those guys and have added nothing to the organization’s championship legacy. Neither one gives a shit about winning. Heyward crying like a bitch about a knee to the stomach that no one can seem to see on any video replay anywhere was pathetic, and Watt limping off the field after someone stepped on his foot was just TJ’s way to save face after failing to make any impact against two practice squad tackles. Both are overpaid, underachieving douchbags, just like their coach. And like their coach, they’ve been instrumental in destroying the tough, proud, winning culture of the organization.
Sustained mediocrity and post-season failure. That’s their legacy. They can’t leave soon enough.
Mike Tomlin and NHALS - The embodiment of the soft bigotry of lowered expectations.
Hard to believe Vrabel was basically unemployed last year.
Patriots were 4-13 last year I think. Now with the same quarterback and new head coach, they're on a ten game winning streak.
I can't remember if there was any interest in him from the Steelers for any type of assistant or coaching role after his TN firing, He didn't interview or anything, did he? I know Id seen his name kicked around there but don't know details.
Yet another Steelers what-if. Thats how Im starting to see the Tomlin Steelers - a continuous string of wasted/ignored opportunities.

Our real fanbase can absolutely relate to this, but for the past decade.

Mayo was their Coach T, he started out with focusing on Current Topics, barely mentioned football.
He was tasked with rebuilding, failed spectacularly like a certain Coach T, and they had a moment of clarity and got rid of the cancer.
Fascinating.

I wish someone would wave the Patriot's coaching moves in Art's face daily.
They fired Belichick who is exponentially better than Tomlin in strategy and performance-
Canned the mistake after one season, to get the guy they wanted, and are now much better positioned.
Side note- letting Vrabel walk isn't George Pickens level stupid, but it's probably in the top 5 bad personnel decisions by this franchise
Poor decision making list:
1. Johnny Unitas
2. Len Dawson
3. Mike Merriweather
4. Hardy Nickerson
5. Probably George Pickens... but Vrabel is in contention

There is NO WAY this team thought it could win that season by adding Minkah given the garbage they had at QB.
That was just soooo dumb and short sighted.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 88 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.
