Did he play well enough to take MR's job?

Secure NHALS early and then go deep into the PLAYOFFS. :D :D :D

I think it's more about how bad Rudolph has looked the last two weeks. I mean, just look at the replays of his last pass before he was pulled. He's completely scatterbrained. He's not seeing anything develop, he doesn't know where to go with the ball, and most importantly he has no confidence to pull the trigger and try to drive the ball.

It's Duck's time.

And what a great playoff story that would be, right? I can see so many awful promo packages for him. Let's make it happen.

Yes that would be a great story.
i said in the game thread that if the Duck comes in and plays better than MR, then it is up to MR to earn back his starting position. I am glad it worked out for the Duck and the Steelers. Maybe they can provide a spark for each other.

Great to get out of Ohio with a win.

I think it's as simple as Duck doesn't look like he's shittin' his pants when he drops back to pass.

There's a confidence, a looseness that Duck has that Mason simply doesn't have right now.

So my guess is they will share the practice plays? Or would the coach just pick a QB and practice exclusively with the starter?

Duck.

I wonder what Colbert was saying to Mason on the sideline at the end there?

Better question - has MR been bad enough to lose the job? To which the answer is "YES".

Are you seriously fucking stupid enough to believe Rudolph used a racial slur?

It’d be idiotic to start Rudolph next week.

He’s played his way to the bench.

Hodges doesn’t look scared out there. Mason does.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

Yeah, I see no humor in posting such nonsense.

Thought we were moving forward.

Mason sucks but many fans were going to dislike him, regardless. Mason never had a chance with the Steelers fan base.

Hell, more than half of the Steelers fan base hate Ben, so Rudolph had no chance.

Here's the other thing....and not that this is the deciding factor.

After wining five games outta six, AND after the bullshit against the asshole Browns...the Pittsburgh crowd next week will be jacked the fuck up!! I just wish it was still a 4:25 start so they woulda had the benefit of getting shit-faced all day long.

But...can you imagine, starting lineups announced, and IF Steelers choose to have the O announced....

"From Samford, at quarterback, #6....Duuuuuuckkkkkk Hodges!!!!"

Off the fuckin' charts!!

Hodges has some swagger to him. There’s just no confidence to Rudolph. As far as physical talent goes, there isn’t much difference, neither is good enough.
That said, Tomlin and Fichtner need to do a better job at putting their QB in favorable situations.
I just can’t be too excited about a 6 point win over the awful Bungals. I hope I’m wrong, but I fear the Steelers won their last game of the 2019 season today.

Ehhhh, I think we'll have a good chance against BAL second string in Wk17.

WOW! That sounds like a must road trip back to the Burgh to see this one in person. After two weeks on the road the Steelers will be happy to be back too.

Interesting. I think if he Ravens have a chance to knock the Steelers out of the playoffs they will try to win with their starters in the game. But otherwise if the Ravens are locked into a certain position then they would probably rest players. And the Steelers would have a chance to win.

Oh and I strongly disagree with this being their last win of the season. I can see 2 or 3 more wins and possibly wk 17 depending on Bal.

Still too soon? LOL, lighten up. Pretty clear Garrett is pulling a Jessie Smollet. You’re usually the guy wishing death and mutilation to multiple players. 😄

Oh, I'd love to see Garrett dead. Now more than ever.

I just didn't think anybody with a working brain actually believed Rudolph used a racial slur.

Okay, maybe I’m enjoying poking fun at Rudolph a little bit too much. In all fairness, dude has had a very, very tough week. He seems to be pretty damn mentally strong though so I think he’ll be okay.

It probably wouldn’t be a bad thing either way having Rudolph down next week so that he’s not front and center in the b.s. story Garrett created.

Its pretty remarkable what Rudolph has endured in half a season.

1. He got killed on the field of play (actually just knocked unconscious.) He layed motionless on the field, and then since the kart was broken, he had to be walked off with a helmet and no facemask - looking like a bobbling drunk - which was a fucking weird optic.

2. He got clocked on the head with a helmet during a fight - which is something I dont think has ever happened before - and absolutely dominated the media.

3. He got publicly called a racist as a result of that fight.

4. He got fined 50k (does a QB ever get fined?)

Thats a careers worth of weird shit in a handful of games. Crazy.

The only thing dull about this guy is his QB play.

We beat then by 3 at home last year with Ben, but no AB......
