You had me going there for a minute, 77.

I want all of my mentioned top 4 getting hats and snaps on Sundays, as well. Let the talented youth take their lumps and get their experience early and be ready to rock when December and January roll around.

Will they actually keep 6 receivers? They have in the past, but wasn't that because someone played teams (DHB)? And I mean actually playing, not being a back-up punt returner like Switz is going to be.

Being a more limited receiver, agree with B2B that Switzer will find it hard to get touches with most of what he did last year going to Samuels. And we WANT those touches going to Samuels - faster and doesn't get tackled by heavy breathing like Switzer.

Good lord Switzer is a pussy and a piece of shit.

How hard his journey has been? Get fucking real.

Ryan Shazier's journey has been hard. Switzer is some little pussy who has zero business being on an NFL roster.

ZERO.

Lol, I just replied to dwill's tweet in support of the Switz. Let him know he could well be the #3 to open the season. Which isn't far fetched at all. If Samuels starts out like he did last year, and Clank Johnson is a bust (we're due for another Limas), he's the next man up.

There is ZERO DOUBT Samuels is going to be seeing the field a whole lot more, especially with his receiving skills (and developing ball carrying skills).

Had Switzer shown more last season (he didn't) he would be some form of competition for the role Samuels will be taking. That ain't gonna happen.

Switzer better show a SHITLOAD of improvement as a returner, if he wants to make the squad. That is his only hope.

Switzer will be lucky to be on any NFL roster when the season begins.

Very lucky.

The little fella better hope Diontae struggles mightily as a returner, because that's Switzer's one true path to the 53.

Swtizer is a much slower Dri Archer. He's a gimmick, a midget hyrbid RB/WR that doesn't do either particularly well. If it came to it - and we're fucked if it does - Switzer would be a complete toss-up to beat out 2017 Eli Rogers for 3rd receiver.

Truthfully there's probably no scenario where Switzer is the 3rd receiver. Because Johnson/Washington are guys that have real potential, and it won't rot on the bench because we know what Switzer's ceiling is and that's not nearly good enough.

Also, if by "2nd leading receiver coming back," he means 4th (receptions), 4th (yards) or 7th (yards per catch, behind Conner and Samuels) leading receiver coming back, he's correct.

Well, it's getting mighty close to time... We're gonna see what ole Switz can do here in a couple weeks.

Most of Switz' targets were around the LOS - I expect him to catch 80-90%.

Rogers is a superior receiver, which isn't saying much but also isn't debatable.

If Rogers can regain his 2016 form, then yeah.

I just looked at some Eli Rogers 2016 highlights.

Agree with those that say that Eli Rogers is a superior talent to what we saw from Switz last year and it's not close.

Agreed, but Switz was running on an ankle that required surgery. A healthy Switz smokes even that version (which is long gone btw) of Rogers.

I guess the Bengals will also be evaluating the crux of this argument, too..

Edit - weird, dunno what happened to the link.

He will be back by like week 4 or 5 sucks for Green and the team. I don't care much for the team but AJ Green is a class act and deserves better than being stuck on the Bengals his whole career.

Switzer is locked in https://www.steelers.com/news/switzer-is-locked-in

Switz will make the 53 because Ben likes and trusts him. Just that simple.

Not buying the little fella is some lock because Ben likes him. There are 4 WR's ahead of him and 3 backs.

Switzer could make it as the 5th receiver, but he better PLAY HIS ASS OFF in camp and in the preseason and he better hope nobody emerges or somebody like Eli Rogers (who was the better player before he tore up his knee) doesn't look like the 2017 and before Eli Rogers.

Switzer's ticket to the 53 is via special teams, but he was beyond MEH in that area last season. Dionte Johnson could make it very difficult to find a reason to keep Switzer.

Yes, but has he invited Switz for a sleepover? We all know this is the true measure of Steeler WR worth.

Switzer is the very definition of a JAG. Would anybody even notice if he was on the 53 man or not? I'd rather watch a UDFA with some upside than Switzer getting 36 touches from screen plays. His most explosive game was last year against Denver for a whopping 67 yards...along with 2 fumbles.

I'm sure we can find someone to replicate his 36 catches for 253 yards.

BINGO.

I mean, I was pretty excited when we acquired him from the Raiders....and then.....

Once I started watching the dude, I understood why the Cowboys got rid of his ass and then the Raiders did the same thing.

Lynch claims the guy was injured last season and that's why he was ineffective.

We will see soon enough.

Luckily, he'll impress the coaches enough to keep him.
