The Pirates have supposedly dealt Jordan Lyles to the Brewers for 25-year old RHP Cody Ponce.
Don't know anything about Ponce except the guy is 25 and never been in the majors- his fifth year in the minors and has never advanced above AA so...meh unless anyone has anything else to add.

There is a competitive pirates team out there .... unfortunately, they all play for other teams after leaving or being traded in salary dumps. It’s all a joke ... MLB should make a rule that the pirates are no longer allowed to tell bold faced lies. They must state at all times exactly what they are doing, the most painful part of this at times is listening to the remarkable bullshit they speak to the fans .... the Pittsburgh pirates will never compete with this current owner ... I think they are intentionally not winning. Winning requires them to spend a little more ... shared revenues and low payroll. You win the fans squawk for some players and spending. It’s a balancing act of trades, holding players back in the minors, poor coaching and silly FA moves to accomplish this feat. All while making it look like you are trying to win this year ... to lure fans to the park and keep MLB and the union off their back

I applaud The Nut. He owns a business and he makes money and he does it with a consistent inferior product. In a consumer business, that’s almost impossible to do. Congratulations to Bob Nutting and his staff, truly remarkable. And I am still 100% serious.
I don’t respect him because of one fact. He voted yes for this current trade agreement but at the same time he and his staff have complained about the current gaps in payroll between the large market and small market teams (Cubs = $211M as highest and Rays = $53M at lowest according to a USA Today article I recently read).
It’s funny to read these fans who are so upset about how he spends his money.
Until baseball Un-Fucks itself (and that ain’t happening because they are all making money despite the poor teams fans having to eat a lot of shit sandwiches), I suggest you start prepping for the Pens.
I think they are the only Pittsburgh team that has a shot at winning another championship and that is a long shot with the window closing quickly.
