Once upon a time a defender could get back before the ball was snapped so long as he didn't touch an Olineman or have unimpeded to the QB. Now apparently the defenders have to remain as still as Olinemen.

It's like the possession rule on a catch....sometimes it's too much, other times not. Basically, if you scare the OL into moving it's usually encroachment.
