A personal foul after you get first down is a strange way to eat clock. Almost zero harm if you are trying to run out the clock and that pesky end zone is in your way!

In general, I hate the NFL’s post play penalty rule: even though Diontae got an unsportsmanlike, it’s still 1st and 10 from 15 years further back instead of 1st and 25 or first and goal from 15 yards further back.

Another quirk….are the refs only giving the QB a yard when they dive on a QB sneak?

It seems like they are…Trubisky had 2 sneaks where he squirted about 4-5 yards but I don’t think they gave him the yardage.

Apparently that rule changed. QB gives themself up whether feet first or head first. Spot is based on where the slide/dive started.
