What does TJ actually do?
What does TJ actually do?
It’s insane that a supposed fan of the team would question this guy.
But that’s the way it goes here…..some people would rather double and triple down on their position than admit they’re wrong.
Watt had two sacks. His two pressures, one off to the side and one in the face of JG resulted in two of the 3 picks.
He’s a leader. Other offenses HAVE TO GAMEPLAN for him. He often takes on double teams….RBs and TEs chipping him. That takes another skill position out of the equation.
Blows my fucking mind that the stone cold idiot of this site would question him. You often see “show me him making a play when it counts.”
To even type that shows ignorance and stupidity only on a level that we’ve unfortunately become accustomed to all to well.
Watt is an amazing player. To think otherwise is moronic.

C',mon.....
The guy who criticizes the greatest pass rusher in Steelers history is a fucking RETARD.
Let me put emphasis on the RETARD part.
Just laugh at him.

I don't think the person behind all the criticism is really being serious. They are just trying to get people riled up is my guess.

And for the love of the football gods.........
Can we allow this guys some freedom on some plays,
to line up over the center,
in the A gap,
come from the opposite side,
line up in his usual spot - only 2 yards wider and come at better angle with a full head of steam.
He must lose 10+ pounds a game battling OT, TE, RB chips, tackle eligible...etc...
from the same exact spot.
TJ Watt ....PLUUUUUUSSSS....the element of surprise and confusion would results in some chaos and game changing plays, if not blown time outs from the opponent

TJ has been a recipient of the coveted Door Slammer award for both of the Steelers' wins this season, for what it's worth.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

You'd be incorrect.
Here's the TJ Watt draft pick thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8477
Notice there is exactly one poster who was flipping out about the pick. Dude has been railing against Watt since the moment he became a Steeler. That thread is goddamn hilarious in hindsight - well worth a read from anyone. My personal favorites:
bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2017 2:02 pmNot from me-- he's way more athlete than football player. The football player part of his game is hustle. Fans are going to love his motor and the fact that he can run. Even STD will calm the fuck down at some point and feel good about it, once the rest of the draft unfolds and he has about 6 months to get over it.
@Professor Half Wit did you ever get a payout on this one?

This one also funny. Forgot about STD calling Bell a horrible pick.

I've screamed from the rooftops they should run the Elephant 3-4 with Watt ala K Greene in his Rams days (they also ran it when he was with SF)Stosh-67 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 3:45 pmAnd for the love of the football gods.........

Something Jibba “do what we do” Jabba doesn’t want to do.
His entire defense is based on getting outlier efforts from his two OLBs doing what they do “in stadiums on blades of grass”.
Translate: it all comes down to those guys executing. Not my job to shake things up. It’s 100% on them to line up (in the same exact spot) and execute.
And we all know Jibb’s record without his security blanket TJ.
Jibbs is a fraud.

I should have said 6 years for STD to calm down about the pick. Might have been closer to correct.

FWIW
After seeing Low Watt perform for a few years
I’ve consistently maintained Watt is a good player
He just disappears on a historic level in big moments
If someone would show me when that’s been wrong I will change my mind
