At least the Mitch era is OVER.

we all knew he would lose that game

Yup. Gonna take more than two losing seasons.

This is a top 10 draft pick team, no doubt about that. Just hope we land a few superstars that can carry the coach…. And Pickett better turn out to be a perennial Pro Bowl player.

I have serious fear age catching up with Cam. Do y’all still see an elite player? Very quiet against a rookie vs Pats and not exactly a wrecking ball against a line riddled with injuries. Maybe with Watt out he gets doubled a lot, I don’t know.
The double team is it.

I also think they went into contain mode when they saw that getting Wilson was like chasing a Jack rabbit with all his jukes and his shoulder fakes. They could not bring him down. He is crafty!

So Mike T can’t outcoach his opponent when he doesn’t have the best EDGE rusher on the planet?

Wow so pumped we have Tomlin. What a great coach.

Cam is older. He might be able to sustain a high level of play for shorter periods of time. Problem is, the defen. . . no. . . offense can't stay on the field.

Those 2 INTs had nothing to do with adjusting to NFL speed. WTF are you seeing? One he made the decision to throw it up to Claypool and the other was a throw where he waited too long, threw off his back foot, and it bounced through his TE's hands.
The first INT was the worst. He underthrew it 10-15 yards. Claypool was running past Joyner and Oickett underthrew it into double coverage.
All true

But hit Claypool in his hands
Claypool adjusted to make it competitive but the throw led him into two defenders. A good throw there is a walk-in TD

This. Pickett threw a college ball to a guy college open...and that's usually a pick in the NFL.

Claypool adjusted then did what he always does on jump balls.

He becomes a giant pussy.

Tell me, when's the last time you saw Claypool come down with a 50/50 ball?

He did get both hands on that throw even though it was clearly underthrown.

BOTH. HANDS.

Not a good throw

We all agree

But Claypool slowed down, adjusted to the ball, got both hands on it and

Made a play like a pussy

THE END

Remember how excited we all were about Claypool during and after his rookie season?

Being that he will have ZERO trade value after this season, they honest to Christ might as well cut the fucking pansy.

He's the Mitch Trubisky of WR's.

Against the Bungs, with Watt, he was very good. Against the Pats and Stains he got pushed around a lot. He was better today, so maybe he’s at the point where he doesn’t consistently have it.

Yes

He is total shit

Jet sweep and maybe a 5 yard out

I kinda hoped for a little more

His catch radius should be much better than it is

Zero chance he's a Steeler next season.

First INT could have been a better throw, but Claypool had all day to gather his feet and high point that ball. Instead he stumbles into a backwards fall (like he always does) and clangs one to the opposition. No matter what degree it’s under thrown, interception should a remote possibility with that matchup. Another example of Claypool playing small against a smaller defender.

The second INT was a bad decision, but if Muth isn’t going to make tough catches in bad situations what does he actually do? Cause it’s not threatening teams with athleticism or being a net positive as a blocker. Mr Steady Makes All The Catches seems to love being involved in back breaking late game turnovers.

The bottom line though is Tomlin 2 weeks late making a QB change. Everyone could see Mitch wasn’t good enough, but we slopped our way through another 6 point half with him anyway and spotted the jets a 4 point lead because….Mitch is a leader? Or you can’t go back to Mitch after making the switch? Or we were improving (from 3 first downs per half to 6)? The quarterback was a dead man walking and everyone knew it - fans players and coaches. The head guy just wouldn’t acknowledge it. Each of the last 3 games were winnable with even NFL average QB play. Coach Tomlin chose not to pursue that.

Every player on defense besides TJ and Minkah could be upgraded next April. Besides them and 35 year old Cam, they’re all just guys.

I just re-watched that play and you're right.....because while Claypool adjusted, he never went up for the ball.

Claypool, like usual, didn't use his size or positioning to go up and make a play.

He let the ball get all the way down to his belly.

He just stuck his hands out while.....wait for it.....falling backwards.

Shocking, right?

OK how about just making a comment that Tomlin is shit coach
Tell you what. If Tomlin makes the playoffs this year, I will support his being back next year. If Tomlin fails to make the playoffs this year, I will support his firing. Fair enough?

Just make sure your making that deal based on your belief, and not pressured by this board, who would liquidate 90% of the steeler organization staff.
